Diddi
Hey I'm currently doing an exchange year over here in the us. i'd like to visit cedar point before the end of the season. would you guys recommend going there during one of the halloweekends, or is it not worth the journey from southern kansas (where i will be going to college until the end of 2006 before im gonna move to florida at the beginning of 2007) to sandusky, regarding special halloween attractions and crowds etc? rgrds stefan
Carnage
If possible I'd suggest going one of the two weekends after labour day before halloweekends start. The saturday's during haloweekends can sometimes draw capacity crowds, due to warm fall weather, and the halloween stuff. I've been there a couple times where 2 hour waits were standard. It's just not worth the risk to me anymore. Those bonus weekends however you should find the park deserted.
Masked_Maverick
To quote Napoleon Dynamite: Heck Yes it is. Only on Saturday's and Sunday's though Friday nights the park is not open long enough and not everthing is open Friday nights. I can't vouch for the quality of the Haunted Houses though but I love the Fright Zone. And they change the Midway music which I love.
coastermaniac
If you are still wondering...Yes it definitely is worth going to halloweekends. I went there on the 23rd and it was awesome. As far as queue line capacity goes, try to get to Cedar Point as early as possibly. The lines arn't long at all. 20-30 minutes tops for the best rides there, including Magnum which was a walk-on. Also, Saturday is the best day to go on the weekend b/c on Friday, not all the rides are open and on Sunday, some of the halloween stuff doesn't open b/c they close too early for it to get dark. I hope all of this is helpful.
