USA visitor

Hi everyone,

I'm from Australia and a friends of the Thunders who suggested to ask some advice. My friend and I have just finished doing a summer camp and are seeking some places to visit and things to see in the USA, not only theme parks but historicial places as well. I would appreciate hearing anything from anyone and possible places that you would recommend to stay, like hostels or Inns as we are on a tight budget. Also things to see and any discounts we could get a hold of.

At this stage we are heading to the east coast & down through Boston, New York to Washington DC. We then plan to head to Denver, Las Vegas then to Cal. So if anyone has any places that they would recommend that would be great.

I can't wait to hear advice and get going on our trip.

When are you planning on making this trip?

 

Because that could affect what you could do. Just wondering, because most of the east coast parks are going to be switching to weekend operation in a few weeks, and closing in a coupel months.

 

The off season for us is starting sooner then later unforunatly.

Well, my friend and I had just finished our summer camps and are planning to leave to Niagra Falls in the next few days. Yes we are basically working out what we are doing as we go. So we are travelling from August 24th till September 24th. We should be in California 15 or 16 September. So if you could give me anymore help now with the dates that would be great.

Well Sept 2nd-4th is Labour Day weekend. At that point most parks in the area should be in weekend operation only.

 

Though it depends on the park itself. The farther south you go the more likely you'll have parks open on week days.

 

So I'd suggest you decide which north eastern parks you really want to go to, and plan to get to them while they are still open on the days you want.

I am from Australia and I will be in New york on Sat 26th, I'm planning on going to Six Flags New England on the 27th and Six Flags Great Adventure on the 28th. PM if you've got any questions or if you are going to be around at the same time and you want to meet up.
