Tripyramidslide Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I apologize from the start. I was one of those late '90s coaster enthusiasts who lost touch with what was going on in the industry. So I did a bit of research and found out that a new 4th demention coaster is going up in Asia, yet I've read Arrow Dynamics has been absorbed by S&S power. So my question is: is S&S taking over Arrow's Contracts? Was it Arrow people that designed X (or S&S)? And, as I suspect, this means that S&S is a major player (Stan Checketts should thank god for the gift of air pressure... although anyone on a GOOD turbo drop/space shot ride would be equally greatful). Thanks for any info!
What Now Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 1. Arrow's merger with S&S took place after X was built, so yes, it was designed by Arrow. 2. Arrow rides gets replacement parts from S&S, in fact, Arrow rides get referbished by S&S.
Tripyramidslide Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 So for example, then new coaster at "Silver Dollar City" may have been worked on by Arrow Designers (assuming those two Utah groups acted civil)... wasn't the original bad (@SDC) ride by premier ? BTW.. stop making Vekoma the defacto best ride corporation in the world. We all know how "smooth" their rides can be... not to mention, well built!
CoasterFanatic Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ^ The design of Powderkeg was handled Stengel and all fabrication and build planning was done by S&S. Of course, except for the parts that were still there from Buzzsaw Falls. That would have been Premier. Arrow Developent/Dynamics is done. Gone. Bye bye. A lot of their former employees however still work for S&S. Alan Schilke (X's Designer) is now designing wood coasters and they are sick. Little bit of cool info: Amusement Today Article
TheKlockster Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I for one am pretty excited about Eejanaika as it is the first non-Arrow Arrow to ever be built. I hope that S&S starts making even more Arrow type coasters!
