nemesis1978 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Hi Guys I know its a ways off yet but am 30 in 2008 and was planning on doin a little 3-4 week trip to america to finally get to all the places i have wanted to go as a present to myself!!! want to go to florida ohio and california but am open to suggestions. How easy is it to get between parks through internal flights etc? Parks that are a must for me are basically florida ones, cedar point and magic mountain however no idea really of parks in between them. I already got somewhere to stay in california as got a coupla mates out there. As I said I know its a long time off but am actually beginning to save already, also anyone from the uk who has done an american trip any info/help would be appreciated Cheers Richard
Carnage Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Flights aren't nearly as cheap in the US as in Europe, but still affordable. It sounds like you might want to start in eithe Florida or Ohio and drive between them. The midwest and east coast have ALOT of parks. You could easilly spend 2-3 weeks alone doing all of them. But there is basically nothing in between California and the midwest. California does however have a number of decent parks. So really you have alot of options, depending on time, money, and if you want to see anything other then amusement parks, etc.
jasper2 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I don't know when the date Hard Rock Park is supposed to open but it is scheduled for 2008. It will be in Myrtle Beach SC. Here is the link: http://www.hardrock.com/corporate/press/content.aspx?id=149 From there your next stop could be at Paramount's Carowinds in Charlotte NC about 4 hours away. Here is the link: http://www2.paramountparks.com/carowinds/index.cfm#actions Then you could travel another 4 hours to Six Flags Over Georgia in Atlanta GA. Here is the link: http://www.sixflags.com/parks/overgeorgia/index.asp Then depending on the reviews of the Mystery Mine opening in 2007 at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge TN, you could travel another 4 hours to visit there. Here is the link: http://www.dollywood.com/ Each of these parks are about 4 hours apart by car. This is very similar to R&E's southern tour 2006 only HRP will hopefully be open then. Just throwing out some idea's for you. Good luck with your planning.
Reon Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 If you get a chance to, stop in the Wisconsin Dells. Mt. Olympus has some of the best woodies I've ridden, hands down...
