I really don't think there is anything the park could realistically add that would be able to compete with Star Wars at Disney. SFMM is dealing with a regional crowd base. Disney is working with a global crowd base. You add something as iconic as Star Wars into the mix and the competition is over before it begins. You nailed it!

I won’t completely disagree with this, however, a survey company typically will not want the liability of locating buried utility’s. They are almost always marked from the respective utility companies and with a specific color associated for the type of utility (blue=water, yellow=gas, red=electric, orange=communications). Also, If they are there for marking utilities they aren’t going to mark them outside of the “work zone” by too much of a margin because it’s not needed. So it goes to show how large the area could potentially be. You are so right.

That lil dip before chain lift was unnecessary! Since I am a tall person the restraint fit perfect. I loved the hairpin drops especially the upward hairpin bank. Both of my cousin were ride ops for this beats and always complained about the noise. That's why towards the end they didn't run it when Hurricane Harbor was open. Too close and the noise level was too much for the people lounging in the chairs. Can you imagine if they had moved this to where GL is at! The noise from Batman, Riddle and The Flash (Flashback) would have been awesome to hear. Wishful thinking.

I really liked Flashback, but I know I'm in the minority (I also really liked Psyclone — even when it ran super slow). Flashback was bumpy with a lousy train that obscured your view, but the track was so unique and fun. However, it was tucked away in the park and didn't have much draw for the GP or major thrill seekers. There was never a line for it, so it didn't really stand much of a chance to stick around for the long haul. With some restraint modifications and maybe a little train redesign, I think it would have made a fantastic enclosed coaster — which, from what I gather, was the original intent for the design.[/qu Of Course with some car and restraint modifications, that ride would have been killer. Always have a blast riding it. Especially at night when it had the flashing lights. I always thought it would fit perfect where GL is at now. I'd wish they really took care of it and moved it but I know money is always an issue.

I'm not sure what happened or what changed, but I rode it in the first week of operation and it was excruciatingly painful even then. Was there on the first week too and it was the most uncomfortable ride. I wish SFMM would take this ride out and replace with a compact kick arsh coaster. Hell I would even take Flashback in that location.

Also the construction crew. My brother is on this project and like is said before. He is keeping a tight lip about it! The last time he was this secretive was when X was in production. Does Six Flags normally do big announcement around Labor Day? Hunh...I'm half surprised the construction crew knows already...I mean at this point they could be looking at the demo page of the drawings...."we need this space cleared", dont see much reason for them to know the vertical plans....yet . All it takes is one annonomus post anywhere on the internet for a major leak....seems like the less people that know before Sept. 30th the safer their secret is...Maybe your brother doesnt know and is blowing smoke up there, but maybe he does...guess well never know Bids are shopped around well in advance. Contractors need plenty of time to secure the necessary equipment, building materials, subcontractors, permits.... And again, I'll say that people who know their livelihood depends on the confidentiality of a project will not say anything. There are only so many construction companies that work in the theme park business, and chances are they will never work in the business again if they were to leak something... That's why I am not pushing him. He has been their for many of Six Flags new builds. The only things he tells me after it has been built, is that he will never ride it. To this day he has never been on X nor Deja Vu' when it was around.

He knows, he is just being a buster about it! LOL

Does Six Flags normally do big announcement around Labor Day? Interesting, has he at least confirmed to you that the construction will include a coaster at all? He is not sharing anything with me. That's my brother though, he can keep a secret so well. I choose not to question him because he does have a temper issue. So I know when I am one step away from getting my arsh kicked and I stop! Plus if he did leak it. I wouldn't want to disclose it on here. Don't want to get Robb, TPR site or my brother in trouble. I guess we have to wait until the announcement.
