Excluding my home park (Valleyfair) I'm hoping to hit up Cedar Point next year.

The second train has been off the tracks all this year. And I believe last year it was to (at least most of the year from what I can remember).

I think that may have just made my day (I know i may not mean anything. But...)

^ I hope 2019, but I could see it either being 2019 or 2020 depending on what all happens in 2018. If they expand Soak City in 2018 I could see a new coaster coming in 2019. I know spending wise Cedar Fair may not do that but we never know, look at Cedar Point, for example, they got Valravn in 2016 and Cedar Point Shores in 2017 (I know Cedar Point is a lot bigger than Valleyfair and Cedar Fair puts more money into them). I have two different scenarios that we could see, but my main guess is that we would see a new coaster in 2019 or 2020 (maybe 2021 but I feel that being very unlikely). Scenario 1: 2018 - Water Park Expansion/Removal of Excalibur (could include a parking lot) 2019 - B&M Invert (I would love a hyper but I know that won't happen until Wild Thing gets removed) 2020 - Kidde Rides/Break Year Scenario 2: 2018 - Frisbee/Removal of Excalibur 2019 - Water Park Expansion WITH a Soak City Parking Lot 2020 - B&M Invert

If they built a parking lot where Excalibur sits the path would probably connect by where the white body slide tower is now (it may be farther back depending on which way they would expand Soak City).

The permanent queue could also just mean that they are planning on keeping Raging Rapids, it doesn't mean that they couldn't be tearing out the old body slide tower and replacing it with something else for 2018.

The Knotts Boomerang doesn't look like it will be going to Valleyfair or any other Cedar Fair Park according to this post. '(Quote from Knotts Berry Farm Discussion Thread) *Edit - Made something more clear*

Remember there are orange flags on some of Excaliburs supports so that could mean they are planning on removing it. But it could just mean they are going to replace something there. Hopefully, we see it go and we get at least a Soak City expansion or a Soak City parking lot but I don't see that happening (this year) because of the stuff that is going on at CGA regarding their expansion.

Hopefully, the manufacturer is B&M or maybe Intamin (launched coaster like Maverick).

We know that CGA would be ranked higher for expansion. We just thought that with the approvals from the Army Corps and the city coming in that we might see some work on an expansion for 2018 or 2019. Also (this doesn't relate with your reply) what does VF/Dave mean when the say VF is more of a family park because when I think of a family park I just think of a whole lot of kiddie rides and only a couple good coasters for the older kids/enthusiast side.

I feel like a wing or a invert could still be considered a "family" attraction, and North Star wasn't advertised a family attraction (in my opinion) but there's still a whole bunch of little kids that ride it. Also one thing to add, a invert or wing coming to VF would probably only cost so where between 20 and 30 million.

Probably not, because the average temperature in Minneapolis area is about 33 degrees in November. Compared to Kings Island in Mason, OH which has an average temperature of 45 degrees. That being said Valleyfair couldn't operate any major attractions because of the cold temperatures (by looking at Kings Island's Winterfest page I can't tell if this is the point or not). Also even though us Minnesotans fight off the cold I don't know if anyone would want to come out and do the stuff that they would offer.

Sorry to get off topic, does anyone know what the max wind speed North Star can run in? Because it was closed for ERT last night and on Friday last week.

Don't know an exact date but it hasn't been open for ValleyScare so I would guess before or when the close for the regular season (not ValleyScare).

^ Most likely mid-August when the Cedar Fair parks release their 2018 plans (that would go along with whatever else is coming in 2018). But to add to that if we are going to see Excalibur close I would expect that announcement to come around the time they did it with Enterprise so that people can come out to the park and get one last chance to ride it.

What does this mean? What would this do? It could mean that the park is getting an updated/new entrance area in the coming years. But I can't really tell it just looks like there either rewiring stuff or moving it around. *Edit* That is what I saw Bzurn (referring to your picture).

It could be possible I just don't really understand why they would do it in 2018. Unless our predictions are completely wrong about what is going to happen in 2018. Also, I was at the park this morning and well the entrance was packed with school groups, the lines were out into the parking lot (may have partly been the fact that like all the school kids had bags). That's when I finally realized the Valleyfair entrance area wasn't really made to support huge crowds such as the one's today.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the expansion but I saw Choice Electrical working on something in the entrance area.

I feel like we won't just be getting a "water park entrance", I'm leaning towards the side of getting some new slides that go with the added water park entrance. As Lightning Rod stated a while back one of the park managers had said to him that something exciting is coming for 2018. So that being said I feel like we won't just be getting a new water park entrance, I feel like we will be getting something to go along with that like a new slide complex. Also, I feel like we will be either seeing a wing coaster or an invert in 2019 or 2020 (hopefully 2019). Personally, I would like a wing coaster more because there are inverts everywhere. I'm thinking that this could go in the Dinos Area and go over the entrance like GateKeeper. But that would require major entrance renovations or a brand new entrance. And before anyone starts saying stuff about money Cedar Fair does look at Valleyfair as one of there "Potential Parks" so that could mean that Cedar Fair is looking to put money into Valleyfair in the coming years and we already now 2018 is going to be a big year. Heres my five year plan: 2018: Added waterpark entrance + more slides 2019: B&M Wing/Invert 2020: General park improvements 2021: A new area is added at the back of the park 2022: Kiddie ride

Lines weren't that bad yesterday (5/27). About a 20 min wait for Renegade and a 30 min wait for North Star.
