Thanks for the reassurance. It's the first stop on a week and a half coaster road trip and I'm anxioisly keeping an eye on the weather for all of these places. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -

Unless they've added any new of those storage things that you pay for this year, the only coaster that had them was Fury 325. The rest of the rides have bins available in the station. Will be heading to the park for the first time ever this Friday night and Saturday! Very excited. Hoping the weather holds up. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -

I agree that it's a positive. However, having to look up what S B Star means in a key is certainly more confusing than the pricing plans of other parks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Is Friday considered a weekend here? Edit: Disregard. It seems I'm going on an SB* day. What a confusing ticketing system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'll be heading to Dorney for the first time in a long time. Hercules was still operating the last time I went. I've budgeted 4 hours here in my coaster road trip. It's sad to see that this thread is filled with people talking about how awful it is here. I grew up in Philadelphia, and going to Dorney was always a treat. I assume it was a more popular park back in those days, as I remember it often being crowded.

Are there still discounts for platinum passholders to Hotel Breakers? Never stayed there yet, but contemplating it for this year's end-of-summer road trip. Yes - discount is still available. HB is one of the places I usually stay while in the Sandusky area. Reservation confirmation states "Season Pass Holder Rate - Rate valid with 2017 Cedar Point Season Pass or Cedar Fair Platinum Pass. - Pass must be presented at time of check-in or reservation subject to standard rate" The rooms there are comfortable, and the location is great! How do you book it? I don't see it online. Should I call? -

I have my first ever trip to King's Island coming up in the beginning of June. I'm assuming spoilers will be allowed in this thread? I'm trying to decide if I want to be surprised by what's in the shed. -
If the bands are anything like the other similar systems, you won't run to the ride. Also if you can only ride one thing, then do you want to get get in the "queue" for the water coaster instead of all the other slides if it is 6-7-8x longer a wait? Can someone explain how this will work? If I am first in line at rope drop, and make it to the water coaster before the other guests, I will not be allowed to ride? I'll still have to reserve a time? Sheesh, I work for them in Georgia and even I can't get that good of a rate. Are you sure you have a reservation for a full-size car? And a one-way no less? I'm sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I counted my days as previous night hours slept - next time going to sleep. To that extent, some days will be longer that others. I enjoy living in Orlando. The heat drives me crazy, but I enjoy being here more than I did Philly / NJ. -
10-year Disney Cast Member here. I could help make an argument for doing Disney instead, and assist you in making an itinerary. The night you arrive, June 9th, Animal Kingdom is open until 1AM. Depending on what time you get in, it might be worth it to do that. Stay at a cheap Disney Resort, get night rides on Everest and Safari, and see Pandora. DAK is a beautiful night park! If you don't get in early enough on Friday, I see that DAK is also open until 1AM (EMH) on Saturday and Sunday, too. If you're willing to go there after Sea World, which generally closes early, this would be just as good an option as the one above. This would leave a full second Disney day in which you've already done DAK. As you said, you could start with Studios for Coaster / Tower. Maybe walk to Epcot after that and spend 4-5 hours? Finish the night by monorailing to Magic Kingdom, ride some classics, see the new fireworks. I would hope that this all sounds more appealing than sitting in moving chairs with 3D glasses on all day.

Critique my coaster road trip!

I can't tell if this is a serious question, so I will treat it as such. My last time there was about 22 years ago when I was 9. I remember enjoying the park- but two days? I was worried a full day would be too much! -

Thanks for the reply! Toward the beginning of summer, rental car companies are looking to move inventory out of Florida. Most of the major companies do this as long as you pick up from Florida and drop it off somewhere up North. I'm renting from Alamo. It's a Full Size rental, too. The only reason I'd want to go the first night is to get a night ride on Fury. The next day, we'll have to leave early to start heading to Richmond (I have a Hyatt booked there). Wow! I completely forgot that this park existed. I lived in Philadelphia when I was young, and tried to get my parents to bring me here one summer (we always had Annual Passes to SFGADV). Thankfully, they never did! Looking at the site, Membership passes are *much* cheaper if I get them at America. Do you think it's worth it to leave King's Dominion at around 3PM, drive 2 hours, pick up our passes, and ride a few rides here? I've been to King's Dominion when Intimidator first opened and got on each coaster at least once. My friend has never been. I actually have all of the hotels booked already. As I said in my post, my wife gets me a pretty killed Hyatt discount, and I'd rather stay in the Hyatt's for cheap than a cheap motel for around the same price or more. This is why I made the sleep/drive/park graph - to ensure what I was attempting to do would be realistic. The only night that I don't have booked as of yet is at Cedar Point. I'm considering splurging for Hotel Breakers. I figured this would be the reaction on this forum. I know that people here have done much more! It's still reassuring, though! Thanks again! -
My friend and I are planning a coaster road trip! I live in Orlando, and he is flying in to meet me here from Vegas. The first day and the second morning, we plan on hitting some Disney Parks in hopes of getting a Pandora soft. After that, I've put together a trip that I hope isn't too ambitious. These are the parks that we'll be going to: WDW parks (I live nearby) Carowinds BGE King's Dominion, SFGADV Dorney (for 3 - 4 hours) Hersheypark Knoebels Cedar Point (day and a half) King's Island Holiday world Kentucky Kingdom I have not been Carowinds, King's Island, Holiday World, or Kentucky Kingdom. It's been 20 years since I've been to BGE, Knoebels, or Dorney. My friend has not been to most of these parks. We're pretty excited. Here is the game plan: Our mode of transportation will be a rental car. It's $5 a day to rent a car out of Florida in the beginning of Summer, as long as you drop it off somewhere up North. We will also be mostly staying at Hyatt Hotels. My wife works there and I get a Friends & Family Discount. Please critique my trip or give me advice! This is the kind of thing that I dreamed of doing as a kid, and I can't wait to make it a reality!
