  1. It would be for 2018. They've already announced a new slide for Splash in 2017. If they were doing anything at DW they would already announced it.
  2. Someone posted on FB that LR is down today and they were told it would probably be down the rest of the week.
  3. Just as well. It was the shortest (by a lot from what info I could get) of the 4 and most expensive.
  4. If so, it's a welcome change. They used yo have lights all along the track. I specifically suggested offing dark rides as more fun (especially in October )
  5. I doubt much difference between 10 and 12. 1 just has a better view than 2.
  6. I think I waited ~3 back in June. You'll make (well, should have by now ). If everyone in front of me had stayed it would have been 4-5, but many left instead of waiting to see if it would open that day.
  7. New slide at Splash. Announced in August ( I think). Was discussed a few pages back.
  8. I see lots of reports about how well handicap people and their party are treated at DW. Makes me believe they do more/better than most.
  9. I was looking for specific dates around the 15th on Nov back in June and nothing (affordable) was available.
  10. And I thought I was always prepping too far in advance, lol! Good for you, Andrew! Depending on when you want to go, you may need that far out. I tried to get a room for Nov in June and nothing available the days I needed. And no, not Thanksgiving, and not a weekend.
  11. Agree. I hope it stays secret a bit longer too. I'd hate to see DW become another place with long lines and and such. Granted I've see 1hr + lines, but that's not the norm, yet.
  12. 3 very different experiences there Bill. I like all 3 for different reasons. On different days I could prefer any of the 3. Some days I'm in the mood for whiskey, some days wine, and sometimes I want tequila.
  13. That's the one I had before. Thanks.
  14. Can you post a link to it?
  15. Someone asked about the LR documentary. I saw it on some news story posted in this thread. I saved a not great copy, but can't remember where it was posted. It wasn't hyped at all.
  16. Not surprising for the middle of the week in September. I'm still surprised they are open so much during the week right now. I think most parks are down to weekends only this time of year.
  17. I believe the official stance is 36, but I can't find an official statement. Never been there for Christmas/New Years, but many Thanksgiving trips and never closed because of temperature though close. We bundled up with ear muffs, but not closed. Similar cold in March. One March trip it felt like it would snow and did the day after we left. Been there when it was snowing in GSM Park and roads closed there, but rode coasters at DW.
  18. It's a continuation of the August deal. Email on the 23rd said extended through the 5th. Then on the 1st they announced it for most of Sept. Listed online on the Passholder Exclusives page http://www.dollywood.com/themepark/Guest-Services/Passholder-Page Actually, you have to do it at the park: September Passholder Special (Theme Park & Super Passholder Only) Dollywood 2016 Season and Super Passholders may bring up to four friends to the park for only $25 each during select dates Sept. 2-28, 2016! Present your valid 2016 Season Pass at any front gate ticket window on the date of your visit to take advantage of this Season Passholder discount. Ticket must be purchased at the Dollywood front gate only on the date of your visit and friend(s) must accompany Season Passholder at the time of purchase. May not be combined with any other promotional offer.
  19. In addition to the free bins on the loading platform, there are more secure options for rent in a few places if you want something more secure. I believe some at LR , I know for sure at River Rampage and Fire Chaser.
  20. Doubt it. Nothing like the KC ride. As to LR restraints, I recall them checking the back in June. Tug the belt, push/pull the bar to ensure both are secure. Same on other rides. No, they don't push hard, just enough to make sure it's sung and latched. I've never seen them push hard to get a green light on WE or MM either, but I've watched people trying all sorts of stuff to get it down enough.
  21. "The slide will be built alongside Big River Pavilion near the park entrance."
  22. For sure after the shutdown to switch over to the holiday season. I usually renew just before Thanksgiving. They may switch a little sooner, but I know they have changed by then. The price is usually the current season's rate. So you avoid any increases for next year. You could always contact them to be sure. They have never balked at answering questions.
  23. How little? It's a steep climb uphill from the gate to the preferred lot. If you're talking stroller age, I'd go regular lot and get there early, or spring for valet. Most tram stops will be closer to your car than preferred parking Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Don't know about closer, but definitely easier to reach. even if 3x the distance it'd feel closer.

  25. Many are convinced it has to be launch related. Won't even consider other possibilities. Launch related when a train keeps having rows locking up? From videos I've seen the launch has ran perfectly 2 days straight. I've been arguing it may not be the launch for a while. Yet some here (and other places) keep on and on about the launch system and replacing it.
