  1. Howdy folks, my name's Lukas (but pls call me Luke), an animatronic-enthusiast from Germany. Some days ago a user on here I know posted something about the Country Bear Jubilee show which was at Knoebel's back in the 80s. Does anyone have a memory of this show or maybe even pics/videos? Would be cool to know. Many kind greetings, Luke
  2. They seem kinda scary, but deep inside I do know that nothing can happen if you just follow the rules of "Keep away when machine makes waves" (We have those signs here in german wave-pools) Some of the older ones here have huge wall-like paddles behind metal bars which are rammed forward to make the waves and then slowly go backwards just to be rammed forwards again... those scare me the most. The pneumatic ones are just some metal bars in the wall, those are creepy-looking but not scary to me. One that really scared me however is a "stomping-wave-machine", the oldest in Germany. It's a steam-engine powered machine in which two large blocks get rammed down in the water, to make the waves XD Those are of course behind bars but still so weird to look at. You're not even allowed to swim near to that (well of course..)
  3. Howdy guys I am new here. I just like to ask you guys if someone has a picture of a !mechanical! wave machine. The ones with the paddles instead of being pneumatical? Since I was a little kid I have been scared of those but I'd like to face my fear and try to look at pictures at them - only problem - I can't find any of them in the internet... It would be so cool of you if some people could send me pictures. Many kind greetings from Germany, Luke
  4. Thank you very much, I've seen the pictures in this thread, but maybe people have pictures of the "paddle" wave machines? That would be interesting
  5. Howdy folks, my name is Lukas, but please call me Luke. I am 19 years old, and I live in Germany. I am a big big fan of theme parks. There is one thing which bothered me since I was very little... I have a massive fear of wave-machines! I can only hardly look at pictures of them, but looking at them actually helps me getting over my fear of seeing them. That's why I'd like to ask y'all if you could maybe send me pictures of wave-machines, as many as you have on this topic here. And explain me a bit how they work. I saw pneumatic ones, and hydraulic ones (like at Typhoon Lagoon) but I've never seen mechanical ones who have those large paddles. It would be great if many of you could help me out with this. Many greetings, Luke
