  1. They process your pass at the gate but I think the chick screwed mine up. I try to log in my new pass online and it says that pass number isnt right. Maybe its just not put into the computer yet but we'll see. I kept my paper if I have a problem. Gonna go next Sat.
  2. probably a water park slide, one of those enclosed drop slides. Probably wont get anything big at GA like a new coaster until 2019. Water park next year, a new flat ride year after then maybe a new coaster.
  3. Just got my pass and bought a dining pass for next year, what an amazing deal. Paid like 100 for the dining pass and 72 or whatever it was for the Gold season pass. They are letting you use the dining pass the rest of this year and next year you get a sports bottle with free refills. Thats an insane deal. I'm gonna go a few times to FF and then probably twice to Holiday in the park, a meal is like 12 bucks and a snack is like 5-10 or something. I dont usually eat in the park, eat before I go or bring a lunch. But figure 20 bucks for a snack and meal and I'm gonna go probably 4-5 times the rest of this year the dining pass will have paid for itself before next season. and I'm getting a sports bottle with free refills for next year. Great deal.
  4. Next year they probably get something new for HH. They def need a new tower with a few of those floor drop slides. Build a tower with 4-5 of them, maybe two of them that drop straight down and 3 of them with some twists.
  5. Yeah they should throw some flat rides or another new coaster down there when they get another coaster.
  6. Man all people in here are doing is complaining. I have no issue with GA getting this, I guess one thing i think is a legit complaint is something better should have been put by the lake. If you were gonna do this ride put it somewhere else and save the lake for a new coaster in a few years. But other than that I'm fine with this, its something new and different and we have a great lineup of coasters at GA.
  7. Overheard someone saying on a ride that there is a height limit in the state that they cant build rides over a certain height. Is that true? Maybe I didnt hear him right, he was a few rows away but thought he was saying that.
  8. Just got back from the park for the first time in 20 years. Went to the water park first, it was kind of crowded, hit up a few things, swam in the pool, did the lazy rive but we decided to head to the park early before the rush of people from the water park came over. The park was dead, completely empty, everything was a walk on which was great. Have to pick the right time to get days like that at Six Flags Great Adventure. Got on everything multiple times. I liked that Possessed ride, thought Talon was good and smooth. Hydra was cool. Steel Force was kind of weak in the back of the train, did the front and it was much better, someone said that in here so I took that into consideration. Did a few flats, went on the Freefall ride which I havent been on in so long since it left great adventure. Did Enterprise which I loved as a kid and hadnt been on in years. That was always the first ride we'd hit at Great Adventure back in teh day. That was cool hitting up old school flat rides of my childhood. Liked that Meteor ride much better than that stupid Great Adventure El Diablo shit. Then we got hot and like assholes we decided to go on Thunder Canyon thinking it was like the one at GA where you might get alittle splashed but not soaked. We were fully dressed with shoes, little did we know you get fucking soaked. That sucked but since we were wet we hit up the log flume and splashwater falls rides, dried off on another round of coasters and then headed out. Loved that the park was empty, will say one thing the employees are so slow, its like because the park was dead they didnt have to move even slightly fast, it was taking so long to load trains. Guess I'm just used to peopel rushing to get trains loaded. Was a good day, perfect day. Only 2 hours, well alittle under two hour drive. Will go back next year.
  9. Hitting up Dorney next monday for the first time in over 20 years. hercules was still only a few years old last time I went. Had to be like 92 to 94. I"m only like two hours away but just havent gone there, I live 30 min from Great Adventure so I go there alot. Know park isnt great but whatever. I'm assuming the water park will be packed and the few coasters will be empty which is fine for me. Only thing I remember about Dorney was Hercules and the water park used to have those lilly pads you would walk across holding the rope. Did ACtion Park, Hershey, Great Adventure and now Dorney this summer. Probably take a trip to Kings Dominion next summer, never been there.
  10. So they are knocking down both the lakefront stand and the arena? Cause thats alot of space for just a 4d spinner unless they are gonna put like some stands or food stuff over there. Whatever it is I dont care, something new is coming next year thats all that matters, if its something big thats cool, if its a 4d spinner I'm fine with that.
  11. Depends but I usually go right, head to Batman then Nitro and Skull, jump over to other side of park, hit Bizzaro then Toro, then Ka/Zum and then finish up with Lantern and Superman but if they are too crowded I pass. Other times I head right for Ka/Zum and then Toro, get them out of the way first then hit Bizzaro then Nitro and Batman.
  12. was at HH and GA all day yesterday with the family. I hate HH, its always packed, they move so slow, you have to wait for a tube for 30 min then wait again to go up the stairs. Hate it. Especially when I was just at ACtion Park and could walk on cliff jumps and swings and way better water rides. But we had the family and cousins and kids with us so this was for them. GA at night was pretty crowded in parking lot but we really didnt wait more than 20 min for anything, Nitro, Ka, Toro, walked on Zumanjaro like 4 times in a row. Loved Namtab, I know people dont want it to stay like that but I do, yeah its still a good ride forward but it was so much better backwards. I think they should have done it and kept it the whole year backwards. Also my cousin is big, he gets on everything except Batman, Toro we have to really push him in to get him on but he can. He hasnt been on Batman in like 12 years or something. he tried to see if he could fit on the seat in front of the line to test it and he wasnt close but he said he'd wait on line with us. Plus my cousin said they are using new trains or harnesses on it so lets see. The belts were much longer and he was able to get in easily. WOuld hate to see someone try the test seat out front and think I cant ride it and not even bother to try and go on it. Overall it was a good day, weather was great, knew it was gonna be somewhat crowded but was still solid day. Cant always be days you walk on everything, those days have to be timed with the weather or you just luck out and the parks are dead but July is always a busy month with families and kids taking trips. Will hit up HH a few more times and few more park trips but now I'm just waiting on fright fest. Nothing better than an Oct night in the park hitting up the coasters, weather is cool, its so great.
  13. WOuld say ride vs ride I'd go Top 3 rides in each park Toro> Fahrenheit Skyrush> Nitro Ka> Stormrunner Zumanjaro > Sidewinder Batman = Great Bear Superman > Super Looper Medua > Wilcat Lighting Racer > Lantern Comet > SKull Mountain. Didnt go on Comet but skull mountain sucks so any wooden coaster I'd take over it.
  14. I compared what they had to what a park like GA has. Maybe for kids, a weekend, doing the chocolate world tour stuff, staying overnight its better but I went for coasters and this park isnt anywhere close to a park like GA. I'm glad it did it once, would I drive 3 hours and spend 50 bucks on a ticket to go again, probably not.
  15. Trip report Took about 3 hours to get there, 2:45 on way home. Got there around 10:30, park looked packed but since there is alot to do there it wasnt as crowded as I thought. Longest we waited was for SKyrush ride, about 40 min but it was hot as hell and sun was blazing. Really only waited about 30 minus for another ride, rest were 10-20 min waits. Not bad. Didnt go on Comet or Laft Trak ride, lines were too long all day and we were tired and were ready to leave. Got on everything else, few rides multiple times. Overall Great Adventure is a much better coaster park, not even close imo but this had a few decent rides. SKyrush was worth the trip, that was a 10, its like a smaller Nitro but the harness makes you feel like you might fall out. Sat in back left side, I never felt like I might fall out and die on a ride except for this one. First time through I couldnt even keep my hands up after the hill I thought I was gonna fall out. Second ride I did though but you could out of your seat so much, its awesome. Great ride. Thought Bear ride was good, smooth, like Batman in GA. I forget some of the names of rides. I like that launching ride, that was cool. The Sidewinder ride was kind of weak, same with the super looper ride. Even said to lady in front of us, if this wasnt first time here I would never wait 10 minutes for this thing. She laughed and said it was a great ride when it opened in 80's. two wooden coasters were pretty good, not El Toro good but ok. The racing one was good, liked that one. Fahrenheit was also a good ride, enjoyed that one. Like that the water park is in the park but it was crowded but we went out and changed and ate a sub and came back in and went in the wave pool to cool down. We werent gonna stay till closing, we could have made another round if we wanted but we were tired, had a long drive and were burnt to hell by the sun. Thought park was clean and cool for kids from what I saw, didnt really interact with staff much. I will say geting into the park they dont really do a good job checking you. I dont even recall walking through a metal detector. Not that we brought anything in but it just seems like they dont do a good job checking you. Also alot of uphill walking in the park, in the hot sun that sucks. Kind of reminds me of Action Park. Hate having to climb those hills. Also went on the Claw which was a fun ride, wish it went upside down but that was a decent flat ride. Overall I'd go again but probably take a trip to another park next year instead. 3 hours and 50 bucks, doesnt really have enough great coasters imo. Gonna hit up Action Park next weekd then maybe a dorney trip in Aug and then next year do Kings Dominion, never been, about 6 hour drive. My brother has gone a few years ago and said its a good park. Also on lines we kept seeing this one group of dudes, he seemed like he has been all over the place on coasters and hitting parks. Heard him saying he heard Kings Dominion will be getting a ride bigger than Kingda Ka next year. We did say it was probably a mistake going on a nice Friday, should have picked a Tues/Wed instead, would think it would make somewhat of a difference. Have to figure people came Friday to stay over for the weekend so maybe on a random Tues/Wed it wouldnt have been as crowded. But it def wasnt as bad as it could have been, thought park was gonna be mobbed nad every line would be 1 or 2 hours but we kind of lucked out.
  16. Taking my first trip to Hershey in about 20 years tomorrow, me and my brother. Figure we got about a 3 hour drive or 2:45 from Toms River NJ out there. Gonna get up early and get there by opening. looking forward to it. Looks like the weather is gonna be great, thats actually not a good thing, like bad weather so it drives away people and the park isnt crowded. But figure getting there early we can bang out the good coasters early on.
  17. How pack is this park usually? Being their on a Friday opening will it be mobbed? What ride should I hit first?
  18. Cant wait to ride Batman backwards, if its a hit the park should just leave it for the rest of the year. I mean Batman is still a pretty decent ride after all these years but making it backwards makes it a whole new ride. Why not leave it like that? What I dont like is alot of times at the park Batman has a line so now backwards Batman will probably always have a big line.
  19. never went on July 4th but my family went to HH on July 4th a few years ago, maybe 2011 when it was on a Sat and the water park was packed. Couldnt even find seats, they were turning people away. Said it was the worst dec they ever made. But that was the water park so not sure how GA would be this Sat, if its nice out it will probably be crowded.
  20. Havent been to Hershey in probably 20 to 22 years or something like that. Gonna go on July 10th with my brother. Great Adventure is my home park, about 25 min from my house, get season passes each year. I know they dont have a Toro or Ka or Nitro but how would you rate the park overall compared to a Great Adventure?
  21. Dont get the hate for a 4D spinner. GA has everything else, a wing or a 4D is what they dont have so either one I'd take and be happy with.
  22. Park was completely dead today. Went for opening, got on everything. Nitro back row walk on, three in a row, El Toro back row twice, Skull Mountain, Batman, Dark Knight all dead. Waited 20 min for Ka and 10 min for Zumanjaro, everything else was walk on. Banged out the whole park before 3pm. Was perfect day. Few buses of kids but not much.
  23. I saw the survey, its 4D coaster they are thinking about. I think if they do it near the lake and keep the DC theme of ride names then Aquaman would be perfect name.
  24. You are crazy for going on Memorial Day sunday, thats a no no. Nice Memorial Day sunday the park is gonna be packed.
  25. Whats the larger model, is that like the X2 coaster? Cause that would be awesome if they put that in.
