  1. So glad you posted this. I know I am color deficient but I knew I saw what looked like blue supports by the green tracks lol. I feel like I'm not crazy now as those blue pcs were for Mad Mockingbird! So exciting to see the construction trucking along!
  2. I received this Wildwood Grove rendering in my email and it has two trains on Dragon Flier. Do you think it is accurate? I thought I had read several times on here it would be one train so that sort of stuck out to me and I was curious lol. http://dw.dollywood.com/enews/18/Images/9/DW2019_WildwoodGrove_Key_Art.jpg?spMailingID=36305840&spUserID=NjU5OTU1MDYxMTE5S0&spJobID=1362487721&spReportId=MTM2MjQ4NzcyMQS2 Come to think of it Pete had stated there would be a tunnel but I don't see one so the artwork may not be exactly correct right?
  3. So cool! I had it all messed up in my mind and this makes it so plain. It is amazing how large the clearing is compared to the whole park! There are 8 acres left of the 13 cleared. Looks like so much space! And in my mind I was thinking this clearing headed up towards the train loop but it doesn't it goes another direction. The map sure makes it more plain. I am so glad you posted this. I have been looking at it on google earth and love all the 3D scenery. It is fun seeing the drained pools at the water park too lol.
  4. Great construction update if you guys haven't seen it yet: http://www.wildgravitytravels.com/wildwood-grove-dollywood-august-construction-update/.
  5. I hear you. I love the theming and uniqueness of DW's rides (especially Mystery Mine). I hope we get an awesome dark ride someday to add to Blazing Fury and Mystery Mine
  6. Thanks so much! Very fun looking those over! Oops! This double posted and I can't see how to delete a post. I just see how to edit. Can you delete a post?
  7. So cool thanks for posting! That is five years pre Dollywood! I'm so excited about Wildwood Grove I've signed up for the two park super gold pass. I may not even get to go until 2020 but hopefully I can go next year to check out luminights and the Christmas lights. Even if I don't make it I don't mind the expense as a thank you for all their hard work!
  8. I'll try to hush on the maps after this. It would be so cool for Dollywood to post all the prior year park map pdfs in a history section of their website or something. That would be such a cool resource to stroll down Dollywood Memory Lane! Heck that is how I would spend some of my slow time at work lol
  9. Oh no I hope they still have them lol. I printed Dollywood and Splash Country's off on the color printer at work for this year. I was going to try to do that the years I can't go. Hopefully they will post them online so I can do that even if they aren't out for people to use at the park. It is so fun looking back at old ones like when Timber Tower was in operation etc...
  10. On a minor topic: I hope they change the park map design. I love looking up the park maps for my favorite parks and this year's Dollywood map has been my least favorite. I just think Dollywood is so beautiful that it needs to come across on the park map more. Dollywood Splash Country's and Holiday World / Splashin Safari's maps come across alot better to me. It may be that there is just so much to cram in a park map you just can't get super detailed. I know it has to be a challenge. This year's map is just a bit "plain" to me. Am I crazy?
  11. I haven't been in several years. However, I was going year after year at one point and renewed my pass online and used that same pass over several years. Unless it has changed I think your pass should work.
  12. I was thinking that may be the case. When I look at google maps of some places (Six Flags St Louis comes to mind), the parking areas are often as big as the whole park lol.
  13. I was curious of that too. One of the analysis videos I watched (can't remember which one) stated they figured it would be May before it was ready. I bet they will try their best to be ready on opening day though! Since they are four years ahead on the $300 million expenditures I wonder if we will go several years with no additions or not. Dolly stated they about ran out of money so she was going to be making more so who knows they may just bust their budget and keep adding lol
  14. Do you guys think parking capacity is ok or will they have to add some?
  15. The more I think about the tree the more I like it. I’ve always hoped Dollywood could have some centerpiece sort of like how Disney has the castle. This tree will at least be the center piece by design of Wildwood Grove.
  16. I have been watching as many reviews on YouTube as I can find lol. Is the bear ride actually considered a coaster? If so won’t that mean Dollywood’s coaster count will be up to 11? One video said the s&s steeplechase bear ride is a coaster so was curious what ya’ll experts said!
  17. I wonder if there will be animation for Dragonflier? I think I have watched Orkanen POV's a hundred times lol. Looks like it is 56 seconds from the time you start moving until the time you stop. I just love the idea of zipping around the grove on a dragonfly.
  18. I think three things are what I can't wait to see: 1. The entrance via a hollow log. 2. The Wildwood Tree. 3. Dragonflier. I am so happy to hear about them planting 400 trees and 1000 shrubs. It will spring to life before you know it. I knew I could trust Dollywood! I wonder how long it will be to connect it to the rest of the park with a second entrance. I don't like dead ends but I bet as they continue to expand it will work out. I was so thankful for Wilderness Pass! It is just part of growing I suppose.
  19. Love it! Love it! Love it! Can't wait to see it take shape! I just read an article that the price tag is 37 Million!!! https://www.knoxnews.com/story/entertainment/2018/08/03/dolly-parton-announces-new-largest-dollywood-park-expansion-wildwood-grove-pigeon-forge-37-million/827969002/
  20. Yes I remember one of my earliest visits way back in the 80's and it just seemed it took forever to get to Dollywood and it was in the middle of nowhere. My how things have changed lol
  21. Hopefully they can get it all figured out for good. I suppose there is a bigger risk of problems when you get a "one of a kind" type ride. I can see it is challenging because you want to have something unique but you also want it to be as problem free as possible. I really trust Dollywood and although Lightning Rod may be down there are many other fun things to do. I am sure they are working toward a permanent solution and we just have to be patient. They definitely want it to be safe.
  22. This was on Screamscape. Great pictures! http://www.wildgravitytravels.com/wildwood-grove-dollywood-2019-july-construction-update/
  23. I love the name "Wildwood Grove!" I can't wait for all the details, especially the coaster and restaurant!
