  1. I'm not here to start a rumor so please, don't take this out of context and run with it like this means it will happen. IDK if it will.

But that's the only thing you've done in this thread since becoming a member.

Anyways, RMC posted pictures of RMC raptor track being manufactured in their plant. How likely is it that this will go to Darien Lake? Does it seem like the coaster that would fit in the park? Any other parks more likely to receive it?

("I want to entertain myself by posting a bulls**t rumor on here and see how people react. Is that a good idea?" "IDK.... uhh... why not?")

Anyone ever think that Darien Lake is going small this year to save up for something large in 2018?

Anyone wanna make B&M rumors now?

Hey guys, if we're not getting anything, then let's resurrect tha Batman stand up rumor again and pretend that Darien Lake is going to bring it back somehow and throw logic out the window! On top of that, let's also start a rumor involving Darien Lake getting another Intamin mega coaster that will race Ride Of Steel and getting an inverted RMC hyprid that will be the first coaster in the world to show onride anime on holographic projections built into the trains

More thoughts on the rumor about the relocation of Kanonen to Dairen Lake?

It is possible that Darien Lake bought Liseberg's recently defunct Kanonen launch coaster. It may replace the barely profiting go karts they have next to Twister. I did a bit of research myself and it fits perectly into that plot of land. #Kanonenfor2017 / #Kanonenfor2018

See? If Frontier City is getting something, then I'm sure Darien Lake will too.

What is more likely, Darien Lake getting a Skyrocket 2 model or a clone of the Kennywood SKyrocket from Premier?

Not to mention I've given you a pass on a couple of borderline rumors, including the Sherwin Williams Ride of Steel fiasco and asking 5 times what's new for 2017. If you're "not trying to start a rumor", please don't say anything, it is really just worsening the quality of this thread that's already stereotypically bad in most members' eyes.

  2. Interesting about the traffic issues to and from Darien Lake. It takes me four hours to get to the park and I've never had any issues with the traffic or drivers in the past. Of course I'm leaving Cleveland by 5:30 AM in order to make it to the parking lot before opening (and getting a decent spot). The only traffic issues I've had have always been at the westbound toll booth in Cheektowaga/Airport area before the 290 split to Niagara Falls/Grand Island. Never understood why it's so slow getting through there.

A bit off topic but I never understood why there is only one rest area (Angola) between Buffalo and the PA/NY state line. It gets a bit crowded with the amount of people who stop there.

Rest areas are generally every 35-40 miles outside cities, and theres only about 70 miles between PA and Buffalo.

  3. Taking the back roads is a lot quicker than the thruway, at least from where I'm at. Even if you're taking the traditional route down Broadway, through the village of Alden, and straight to Allegheny Rd, it's slower than the shortcuts I take. You just have to be smart about what roads you take (which I'm not going to reveal because there are almost no cars on them, and I don't want to ruin that).

I once raced my friends taking the "long way" and made it to the park at least 5-10 minutes before them from the same point, following all speed limits and road signs.

Edit: And actually looking at Google Maps, it claims that my way is .1 miles longer and should take 2 more minutes. I think that avoiding the village with the 30 mile an hour speed limit and traffic lights really breaks the flow.

We probably go the same way...

  4. Honestly, I don't think I'll be getting a season pass this year. I've (my parents when I was younger) always gotten one since I was about 3 years old. But I just don't feel the need to spend the money this year. I'm 23 now, and my girlfriend and I have gotten them together for the last 5 years or so, but we're opting out this year. The money, lack of free time (started a new career type job a few months back), and lack of anything new all factor into it. That said, I will certainly also not pay the crazy amount they charge for a 1 day ticket and parking. We usually camp for a weekend in august at the park, also not happening this year. This isn't at all to "spite" the park for no new additions, but more because for the time and money a day at the park costs, it's just not something I look forward to anymore. I adored the place as a kid, but it's almost sad to see how little has been improved over the years and how much has deteriorated. Maybe next year I'll decide I miss it, but for now we're gonna pass. I mean how many of you guys/gals have been yearly pass holders for 20 or more years? Does anyone else feel the same, just not as excited to go? Maybe a year off is all I need? You can only ride the same rides for so long, look at the same things for so many years, eat the same crap food for so long. Darien always had a lot of nostalgia for me but it's growing old and sad as time goes on. Anyone else have any similar thoughts or concerns?

I had a season pass in high school and a year or two after, and didnt get one again until I had kids old enough to ride. In between, the once a year company picnics or day at Kingdom Bound sufficed for us.

I'm totally going to be that guy and squash that rumor before it even has a slight chance of taking off. I was at the Administration Building yesterday to process my season pass and I saw predator sitting still with no signs of nothing. It shall be predator again in 2017 and likely for every year following until it gets taken down. I'd love for the Lake Monster idea to become a reality but sadly at least for the foreseeable future' date=' I don't see it happening. However at another theme park 4.5hours or so away, "they're coming", so that's something to be excited about right? [/quote'] Thanks for the picture, and yes I am VERY excited for that campaign as I might have a chance to go in 2018! But I must point out "lake monster " is not owend by darein lake , it's owend by a pub . And the park is starting to at least trying to make the predator rideable, did anyone notice they removed the trims on the last camelbacks before the brakes run? But trying to build the ride in one year would be hard because the brake run is over a path. But darn who does that feild belong to?

    What field?

Look at 1299 Sumner Rd where the picture was taken but, look behind and there will be a feild that has been cleared recently and it looks to havesomething in it.

Its firewood. The only relation it has to DL is campers buying it and burning it in a DL firepit.

  7. Darien posted a picture of the front entrance. I can't wait to walk through it,last year we were the first to cross into the park,it was snowing

That's an old picture, and it did not snow on opening weekend last year.

Sorry the correct term was "Sleeting" as the meteorologist said. As for that picture.....I am very disappointed

It wasnt sleeting either. It was in the 70's and sunny.

  8. ^Based on the context and amount of information, I would say it's a pretty safe bet that this is legit. It's not someone just claiming out of nowhere that DL is building a water coaster or something. Everything listed I can see happening based on what I've noticed around the park last season.

I'll feel really dumb if I'm putting faith in this guy and it's a work, but I guess we'll have to wait on the park map to be updated to see all the "noticeable" changes.

Going on precedent though, usually these posters claim major things and disappear.

He's mentioned before that he works there, with no totally off the wall info so I see no reason to not believe him.

  9. I'm not sure how well he Pepsi thing is going to be since they don't really have any way to combat coke freestyle that I'm aware of, and I'm a big fan of coke freestyles! And I'm always a nerd for anniversary merch, so if we can somehow expand the anniversary products to be more than just souvenir cups I will be a VERY happy camper this season

They do have a freestyle similar machine, its just not as mainstream yet. It's called the Spire. Regardless, DL didn't have any freestyles that I was aware of.
