^I guess it varies then. Sometimes they operate it with the slowdown, sometimes they don't. This was the first time I've been on Iron Rattler without it. It caught me off guard too!! Scared the crap out of me for sure.

Oh, and I wanted to post a little note about the Iron Rattler. So, when the ride first opened not too long ago, the train used to slow down almost to a stop at the top of the lift hill. This was to build anticipation for the first drop. Today, that feature was removed. The train did not slow down at all at the top this time, it just went into the first drop at normal lift hill speed. This made the first drop soooo much faster!

Hey guys! Just got back from SFFT today! Thought I'd post some pictures from my visit. Please note that my camera was acting up, so I didn't get to take that many photos. Sorry.... Just a quick trip report: the park wasn't as crowded as I thought it was going to be! I arrived around 3 in the afternoon, and I got into the park without a line! The longest I waited for a ride was about 20 minutes for Iron Rattler. Most of the rides were open, with a few exceptions (noted below). The weather was beautiful, and I had an awesome day! Superman Krypton Coaster was excellent with it's pretty new paint job! Fiesta Texas is one of my favorite parks in the country Batman the Ride construction is coming along well! More track waiting to be placed! Batman as seen from Spassburg Batman as seen from Rockville (I'm standing right next to the future entrance of the attraction) Here's the future entrance for Batman! Looks like they've started working on the control booth! Whirligig is still undergoing maintenance Roadrunner Express was closed today, and the entrance sign was missing. A note on the entrance said that it was closed for maintenance/refurbishment

Just read an article about the new Soaring Eagle Zipline addition to the park. Supposedly, the station for the zipline is going to be in Rockville and it's going to fly over SKC, among other rides. You can see the article here

I wonder if they're going to refurbish the ride vehicles on SKC as well. Last time I rode it they looked TERRIBLE! The colors were faded, the foam padding on the restraints had chunks missing, and there were these weird brown spots on some of the restraints as well! I'm happy enough that they at least repainted the ride, though. One step at a time, I suppose.

I visited SFFT yesterday and was able to gather a little info from a park employee. While waiting in line for scooby doo ghostblasters, the ride operator made an announcement over the PA system about Rockville High's last show on September 1st. More importantly, he said that the high school itself will be completely torn down to make way for a "new attraction". He also said that the Hustler will be demolished as well, but that's old news now I suppose.
