Ya know with as many classic attractions that have been removed or renovated over the past couple of years it's pretty cool to see a park just completely upgrade and re-build an older classic ride.
As far as the ride itself it sound like it's..... just going to be a newer better version of the old ride? I know RMC is involved but it seems like it'll be a pretty similar experience to the original ride just with better/newer/upgraded/refreshed show scenes etc. etc. I think I saw a $30 million dollar investment listed somewhere which is a lot of money, but also considering it's an entirely new coaster and a new dark ride inside of a new building $30 million maybe isn't that much money?
Should interesting to see the finished product with this one but pretty cool to see a park invest in keeping a classic historical attraction alive.
It looks like it'll be in Fireman's Landing, across the park from the original. So more of a reboot than a re-build.
Some of that $30 million could be for whatever they put in the old location. Which if I remember right, is right next to the area that's been fenced off the last couple years, so it could be pretty big.

The Gröna Lund accident can't have helped things either.

Mt. Olympus. I went once and didn't die - why push my luck?

I want to say the current carousel location (not building) was one end of the skyride.
-
When they first moved, the carousel was in the entrance building where the carousel-themed gift shop is now.

Death. Trap.
You mean just the slidewheel, or the park as a whole?

Well, everyone that wondered how dangerous the slidewheel would be Mt. Olympus is building one for 2022.

I hope they rehab the displays along with the shade - many of the bricks are discolored and cracked from being in the Florida weather for 10 years.

I'd think the seniors under 48" is for grandparents to ride the kiddie rides with grandkids, but not any of the big rides on their own. (Sort of like how Little Amerricka has the different colored wristbands.)

^^ I was there in June, and at that time, that's what all the seating was like. It was at least 3 of the same 4 food stations as in these photos, so I guess they've had a long soft-open - nothing indicated it was new or still in previews. The tables are bolted to the floor, and with the high exposed ceilings and hard floors, the noise really reverberates. The food was better than we'd been expecting.

I'm sure the wait in line before going into the maze "primes the pump" as it were.

This seems to be a different company from Mack Rides.

I rode Hellcat yesterday and nothing looked too new. It was bouncy, but not jackhammery. Maybe a little rougher than Thunderhead. Certainly better than Zeus, which is the only coaster I've been on that I felt like I might die on. Not from falling off, just that my spine would get so rattled it would just give up.
-
Are the lines to get into the park an hour long on weekdays too, or just weekends? I'm considering going in the first couple days of August - willing to buy flash pass, so I'm not as worried about the other lines.
-
I thought Lightning Rod was the only one, but after looking through my list, apparently I rode Python at SFA (Wild World at the time) in its first season there, 1993. Wouldn't have guessed it was a first season since there were closed rows with duct tape holding the OSTRs down.

You see "Loch Ness Monster" trending on Facebook and your first thought is Busch Gardens, not Scotland.

I've always wondered about those slides that look like they're made out of drainage tubing. Wouldn't that be like a slow and painful experience to go down with those ripples or is there something added inside that smooths it out? Or do you go down using a mat?
Also, if they added a loop on the end of it with water, it would look just like that old ghetto looping slide at Action Park!
The inside isn't ribbed (for your pleasure ), so it's actually fairly smooth; just slightly washboarded. The places I've gone on them had carpet remnants for mats.
-
Well if they are only getting a Star Flyer let's hope it's bigger than Manticore over in the Dells otherwise they're just wasting their time and money with this.
If Mount Olympus's Manticore hasn't tipped over yet, then a star flyer at Valleyfair should have very little maintenance-related downtime.

The day after marathoning Expedition Everest with them, I dragged 4 teenagers I was chaperoning on the Barnstormer so that we could say we rode all 5 MK coasters in one day. As they pointed out, we were the only group without a small child.
-
Space Mountain with four very tired, happy kiddos, right after a walk-on Buzz Lightyear! - got all 5 MK coasters in yesterday!

Finally made my way over there for the first time in awhile...
1. Impulse is really good. Drop was awesome and the ride packs a lot into a small footprint. Perfect compliment to the park.
2. Had one of the best rides on Twister that I've ever had. Rides just like it did when it opened.
3. I think I might have to stop riding roller coasters. I got through one ride each on Phoenix and Twister without a problem, but once we got to Impulse I got a really uncomfortable pressure headache right after we got out of the loop; had this happen to me at Hershey four years ago as well. I've had issues with motion sickness before and I was wearing sea bands all day, but I still felt like garbage. Not sure what else to try. I went from being able to ride Twister 47 times in a day to this.
It may be a good idea to see your doctor - could be hypertension. (I'm pretty sure that if your BP is under control with drugs, the warning signs about high BP don't apply to you..)
I've mentioned it to doctors and they never seem to think it's a big deal. I was at an appointment last month and IIRC my blood pressure was like 110/70, so I'm not sure if it's that. It sucks regardless as roller coasters have been a huge part of my life ever since I was like 10.
Guess not. I had similar symptoms that went away when I started BP meds. But if it's a big deal to you, it should be a big deal to your doctors...
