  1. Could this be a sign that Soak City will be expanding that way soon... Could be, but I don't think that will happen for at least two years. The work to level the ground by what would be the old site of Excalibur, the movement of the service road, and rework of the general area seem like multiple phase projects that could take long periods of time. Side note, does anyone know why the gate from the path by Mad Mouse and the Wave Pool is always closed? Seems like it would make a great second entrance.
  2. I have one question, How busy does Valleyscare get during the Saturday night frights? I plan on buying a fast lane for the haunted houses anyway, but I am just wondering.
  3. The only issue that I have with this is that Delirious is our new "Coaster", maybe it's not marketed as such but as far as rollercoasters go this is what we got. Remember when Northern Lights was first marketed as a "coaster"?
  4. Hey, may not be what we wanted, but it's better than nothing! At least crowds will be drawn away from North Star towards the new ride. With Steel Venom, North Star, Northern Lights, and now Delirious in that area, that section is gonna be (pardon my French) F****** PACKED.
  5. Does anyone know if you still get a free fast lane daily pass if you renew a season pass for next season? If so, when does that deal start?
  6. I have been to valleyfair 5 or 6 times this season, i've only seen Riptide closed once. It still pulls a nice crowd on weekends.
  7. So Universal has announced that dragon challenge will be permanently closing at the end of this year, and it can mean some stuff for us. I wouldn't call it totally out of the question that we might receive one of the two sides of the ride in 2019 or somewhere around that. I know the ride has been in service since 1999, but if we were to get a new major coaster this really is the only thing I see happening.
  8. They mowed the lawn....causing some people to have champagne wishes and caviar dreams of giga coasters. well you get pretty desperate after you don't get a coaster for 10 years without a coaster and 11 and 12 right around the corner
  9. With the supposed water park entrance coming next year, what could happen to Thunder Canyon? It would be the only ride in the back of the park once excalibur is put to rest. Could Thunder Canyon become a ride at the waterpark? I wouldn't rule out Thunder Canyon's removal also.
  10. Where would a designated soak city entrance join the paths already built in Soak City? I don't see any place it could go... Maybe by the old locker rooms?
  11. How about a Giant Play Area where Giggle Run/Splash Station is? I just don't see that ever happening, we recently received the other play area. As far as being kid friendly goes, the old white twisting body slides are not that fast, and fit that category well.
  12. As far as what we will get, that's if we get anything with the waterpark expansion, I will be happy with anything as long as it is not just standard body slides. A pair of tube slides, and maybe a bowl slide or one of those proslide tube rides with multiple funnels is already enough for me.
  13. Well, since Knott's boomerang isn't staying in the Cedar Fair chain, I guess we won't get a coaster for the next few years
  14. I honestly would not feel sad about our next coaster being a boomerang. This 10-year coaster drought (and more years to come) really put us in check. I am happy with the current park anyways, I can make a full day from 10am to 6pm. I just don't see a big coaster like Banshee ever coming to our park .
  15. If there were to be new slides added, I think a huge candidate for where the slides can go is the family raft slide tower. The family raft slide tower has two sets of stairways, and one of those stairway sections can be used for slides with some work on the tower. With the new slides, the line for the family raft slide would never need two full sets of stairways to hold the line.
  16. If a waterpark slide expansion comes with the new entrance plans, I wouldn't expect a large slide complex unless it came from Geauga Lake. Even then I could only see something like getting their tornado slide, it would be easy to advertise and attract a crowd since the only one anywhere around here is in Wisconsin Dells.
  17. I fully agree, looks like a permanent queue. Not sure if it was really all that needed, but I'm sure it would be a great addition.
  18. I do not know if it is too late to be asking this, but what crowds should I expect at the park this weekend? I'm planning on going tomorrow, and i have no idea what to expect because i've never visited during a holiday.
  19. It is definitely interesting that the new plan appears to have been approved. At least now I know to get my last rides on Excalibur.
  20. I've always found it weird that Wheel of Fortune requires two people per seat. Sure there must be a good reason. But this prevents me from riding due to I unfortunately make trips to Valleyfair alone.
  21. According to Nickelodeon Universe's website, it explains that the Balloon Ride near the center of the park has closed forever on April 20th. This has me questioning what they could put on the rather large area of space. Will this be the location of FlyOverAmerica? Or will this be perhaps another project. I am visiting he park tomorrow to see what they could possibly be doing to the balloon ride area.
  22. I'm honestly happy with the new additions, overall the amount of slides at soak city have doubled with this expansion. As for the trap-door slides, I'm glad we got these, I've been on ones at the Kalahari, Wilderness resort, SFGAm, and I've never had a bad experience on one. For the twisty thrill slide, okay with me. And finally the plunge slides similar to panic falls, my only reject is that I hope its not as rough as other plunge slides I've been on (example: Leap of Faith at Atlantis)
  23. Because the park doesn't want to be a baby sitting service That is the #1 reason followed by the park being open 362 days a year with no weather issues to prevent you from going. Exactly, its because NU is open 362 days a year, way more than other parks.
  24. I've always imagined a ZacSpin going in where the carnival games are, but we must remember that a ZacSpin at NU would be pretty short in height. But we've seen NU do a good job squeezing in RBP, so im sure NU could make it work.
