The front for Tatsu will make it less likely that you'll grey out. Yes, a small bottle should be fine. I wouldn't keep the articles in a pocket on: X2, Tatsu, YOLOcoaster, Twisted Colossus. Most others should be fine. Just my two cents: Regarding Tatsu agreed with nearer to front of trains is better, although I'm beginning to think the middle of the trains have more equalized G-forces, therefore being best. Regarding water bottle, generally the unwritten rule is you are allowed to bring one unopened water bottle, but they are very strict on this and sometimes not allowing it at all, depends on your security employee at the detectors, and if you try bring a water make sure it isn't opened yet, they are trying to prevent people bringing vodka, etc into the park, opened bottles could have been tampered with. The official posted park rules don't allow any beverages from the outside in. In my own experience, just bringing the (unopened) water bottle through like you own the place is the best method, I'm guessing they are trained to notice anxiety those bringing objects into the park. Regarding pockets, on most rides I would make sure your pants seal by either using zippers or strong buttons. Most of my friends have lost articles on Scream, not sure why, but this seems to be awfully consistent... Overall losing your id, money, etc is never fun and typically (at Magic Mountain based on my experience) it has been difficult to get ANY of your items back, and if you do they may be significantly damaged. Having amazing and unique rides unfortunately tries to throw your wallet, id, keys and phone from an unsecured pocket, so take precautions.

Vegas Trip Planning

Yes, most hotels will hold your bags for free but tipping is standard practice. 1. Most hotels you can book a room with two beds for two people, just limit how many people go with you to check-in. One side note though, for example, at the Wynn you get discounted night club access when staying at the hotel, but only for two people. 2. Generally prices go down within 2-3 months of booking, right now they will be high because they know you are planning ahead. Also, for MGM properties you can sign up for Mlife for free, then login to mlife.com and generally rates are the lowest you will find anyway. Also, make sure you get a Hyatt number because at MGM properties you also can get Hyatt points in addition to Mlife points for your hotel stay. I would recommend the Luxor tower rooms (not Pyramid) over the Excalibur, they aren't too much more but much nicer. 3. I know for sure the Wynn pool was open last February, most of the other hotels the pool will be closed. You get what you pay for... 4. El Loco is fun, but $10 a ride. Desperado is only open Fri-Sun, and only open until 7pm on Sunday. Its super rough, but definitely a ride worth doing if you want a thrill, and the after 5pm pass is pretty cheap for unlimited rides, although you'll usually want a break between rides, its that rough... 5. Stratosphere, go to happy hour at the Top of the World Lounge, you dont have to pay tower admission. Also, Area & Wynn-the whole hotels, Bellagio-fountains, Luxor-atrium, Cosmopolitan-chandelier bar, and "The Roller Coaster" at NYNY would be sights I would see. If you want to drive Red Rock Canyon and Hoover Dam & the new bridge are worthy sites. Hope this helps. -W -
No, Newhall Land and Farming Co. (the original developer of Magic Mountain) retained ownership of all of the surrounding property when they sold the park to Six Flags. Currently, they are proposing the Entrada project to the south of the park and Mission Village project to the east of the park. These are at various points of environmental and planning approvals. This isn't to say they could potentially sell some of the left over property to Six Flags at some point as the boundaries of the proposed developments don't directly abut the park's current boundaries. I would think any sale would come with some noise and height limitations though. Entrda Tract Map proposal (showing commercial/office planned next to Magic Mountain, all access is off of Magic Mountain Pkwy): planning.lacounty.gov/assets/upl/case/tr53295_exhibit-map_20140820.pdf Mission Village Tract Map proposal (showing a park, commercial/office, and a Retirement Community abutting Magic Mountain, with all access off of Magic Mountain Pkwy or the 126 Freeway): planning.lacounty.gov/assets/upl/case/tr_061105_mapEM1.pdf (see 15, 16, and 20 on the map)

I had hoped for TC to be included, but its stated in the email the park sent out earlier in June as X2, Viper, and Revolution. Hopefully someone will post on the forum if this changes tomorrow. Also from the email: "Present your Discover card or your valid Six Flags Season Pass to receive your wristband at the event table near Revolution."

I recommend this as well. Lots of people go for medusa for whatever reason when I am there for rope drops. Anyways I plan on going Wednesday the 8th. was there this past sunday, definitely agree superman for rope drop due to low capacity. everything else had 15min or less waits (might be longer on easter but i doubt it.) i would plan your day around some of the animal shows, as this makes this sf park really unique. finally, i wouldnt hang out in vallejo, its not very nice, there was a murder down the street while i was there, i would recommend walnut creek (the marriott is inexpensive and nice, free parking in the employee lot) or go hang out in sf. ps- vertical velocity was closed with trains removed from the track, not sure if it will be running by this sunday.

as an alternate, you could also do texas (dallas, san antonio) or california (la, anaheim, san diego.) last year we did lax->new jersey (sfgadv) nyc (coney island) and --> chicago (sfgam) since airfare was cheaper stopping in chicago for 2 days on the way back from nyc... so you could look into a stopover.

You do know the poster was asking about the snack times right? Not what snacks are being offered It appears you get "one snack per visit." I'll have to check on what times, but it sounds like the snack is available from opening until closing. I am more excited that I purchased the dining plan during the sale in September and now I can get a churro or dole whip for free every visit from now on... I'm sad they aren't advertising this free upgrade to those who already purchased...

Sorry, yes I meant increased efficiency, not loading time, oops. In the past after the seat belts had been added they were averaging about 2:30 to 3:00 per train to load, this was because the individual cars needed to be unlocked when someone put their restraint on so the seat belt could not be seen, at the time they were locking all of the cars at once. With the change, the cars are locked one by one from the front to the back, they were averaging about 1:30 per train this weekend. I am not sure if the operator is manually locking them one by one or if they had the automatic button re-programmed to lock them in succession. I assume any change to the operating procedures either way would have needed Cal-OSHA approval and retraining of ride operators, this might be why it took so long to adjust. In addition, they weren't reinforcing to riders not to lock the restraints themselves anymore, because they couldn't. With that said, Full Throttle has not been changed yet, passengers are still able to lock their restraint before the seat belts are checked, so a ride with already low capacity is still reduced due to the seat belts and dumb riders. On an afternoon with 10 minute X2 and Goliath lines, Full Throttle still had an hour wait...

Update from January 25 and 26: X2 - On Saturday, did not open until around 11:30am, they were trying to test the ride since park opening at 10:30 but were having unexpected issues. On Sunday, was open about 10 minutes after park opening, it appeared they started testing a bit late; however, later in the day the line was about a 10 minute wait. Batman - was running one train, the other train had been removed from the track entirely, I assume to retrofit for a backwards run. Colossus - maintenance was working on the underside of the backwards running trains (old Psyclone trains) in preparation for backwards run. Goliath - it appears they have reprogrammed the restraint locking mechanisms so they are locked as they are checked (per car) due to the new seatbelts. This significantly increased loading time. New Kiddie Coaster - a footing has been poured for support columns where the big tree has been removed.
