  1. All I have to say is WTH?! They were already building the thing and NO ONE KNEW WHAT WAS BEING BUILT TO SPOIL AHEAD OF TIME?! The lifthill is CLEARLY constructed, as are other portions of the track....I.just.don't.get.it... Also, if they've already started, why is it going to take a full two years to get it ready for opening? I know it's groundbreaking and all that, but the few announcements I've been party to all took place just before they needed to get the coaster vertical...I'm just surprised no one on this forum----besides Rob---had the goods on this coaster weeks ago..... Oh well, it looks dope. So while I'll probs never get to ride it, I'm pretty stoked they get such a modern marvel of a coaster!
  2. Could this be a joke?????? Maybe the ride needs more repairs? It just seems really....well....random...
  3. TPR is invited. But signups opened in January and closed mid-March
  4. Just an FYI: They've been testing Banshee continuously for the past 10 minutes or so! Makes me really excited for the 17th!
  5. If you're sure this has been asked, then why are you asking? Wouldn't it make more sense to go back through the thread and find where the answer might be? It certainly would reduce the time you waited for an answer from people who might be annoyed and ignore this inquiry entirely..... You could have reduced a lot of time by just answering the question... It will be crowded on Easter weekend, yes. At least thats what Ive found in my experience. Fast Lane Plus should be your friend. You're assuming I know the answer to the question....which I don't......I don't make it a point to be there opening weekend. Personal preference.

  7. There's also The Beast, The refurbished Flight Deck---now The Bat, my BF and I also get a kick out of the Stunt Track, which isn't really a main attraction, just a family ride.
  8. ^ Seriously......slam the park, then ask us for advice? You clearly haven't heard about the coaster KI is unleashing this year.......
  9. I just thought they were saving that for the night riders who raised all that money for charity. I would not have expected to have the privilege of a night ride otherwise.
  10. It's not at night. Just because the ride will launch doesn't mean they are going to run the nighttime effects......those are reserved for the fundraiser from 9-11pm.....
  11. Well in that case, then it probs won't happen. But it was worth bringing up!
  12. This is pretty astounding. Here and (classic) Kings Island fansites are arguing about what true color the ride is. Who gives a flying f%ck? I'm interested in how the ride runs! I'll be there this summer to experience the ride, not paying really any attention to the ride's color scheme or what type of blue/green it is. I like to pay attention to what type of airtime/restraints/forces a coaster has. Why would a KI thread---ours or elsewhere---care about the color of this ride? And why are you posting about it here?
  13. So I've seen several animations where KingDa Ka is operating at the same time as Drop and somehow the descent of Zumanjaro drop is timed to when the coaster goes over the top of the track. What are the chances they operate simultaneously like that? And would it be cool, or do you think there's a possibility, that Cedar Point might do something similar in the future to TTD?
  14. So in other words....a lot like it's predecessor, The Beast, except probably a lot higher I would hazard to guess.... *hint of sarcasm* I would ride that, and would suppose the height element would make it that much more exciting for me.
  15. Fixed. Lots of corrections going on today......but I wouldn't know either way because I never rode it!
  16. I honestly think they should go back and do SOB AGAIN---only this time make it a hybrid. I know that veers off the topic of "modern woodies," but it would be a way to leave the original Beast alone, but provide another ride experience. I mostly say that because I became an enthusiast only recently and wish I would have ridden SOB at least once before it went to coaster heaven. Sue me
  17. I know this is changing the subject, but it's something that's been on my mind. So I was reading on Wikipedia that the height of Banshee's lift hill is 167ft, and the first drop it 150ft. I also notice that the station is at least 10 or so feet off the ground. Does the 167ft. estimate include that height, or are we really 177ft. or so off the ground at the top of the lift? Sorry, still a little new to the scene. And, as sad as this sounds, it will probably be the tallest lift hill I will have ascended in my abbreviated career as a coaster enthusiast.
  18. Oops! Sorry! The video still blows my mind! Thanks for the play-by-play for embedding a video. I tried that and when I preview it, it didn't seem to work. I also tried posting it a couple times and it wasn't working. Must have been something on my end!
  19. Has anyone seen this testing vid????? Also, can anyone tell me how one embeds a video????
  20. It seems like a pretty decent ride. Nicely themed and kind of long. I will say that it does seem pretty stop-&-go, but I really like how it goes all around that portion of the park!
  21. Just wanted to share this Youtube video which shows Banshee testing from far away. I know you can't see everything clearly, but it's a great angle for showing the uniqueness of the angle of the first drop. It also shows the ride in comparison to the rest of the KI skyline. Pretty cool if you ask me! (Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to embed the video!)
  22. From the way the live feed looks. It appears as if they are actually putting and ADDITIONAL layer of paint on the track so it is starting to appear more red-orange than orange......wonder why that is? Still fantastic paint job! Totally new life breathed into an old favorite (at least one of mine).
  23. Can you imagine what the ride will look like with the refurbed ride vehicles? #epic It will be like a brand new ride!
  24. I have to say, I definitely wish this was the kind of layout Gatekeeper at CP had adopted. This coaster seems to take a lot more advantage of its capabilities and variations than Gatekeeper does---save the gate element.
