  1. A lot of work done this week, but little to really show for it. So watch the video to hear me vent . . .
  2. The theming continues with the addition of galaxy projectors. These things are incredible! Even if you don't have the accompanying rollercoaster. The video does not do them justice.
  3. The heavy theming has begun. I've mostly finished the first big show room scene. Enjoy!
  4. ^Thanks! It's been almost a year, but the circuit is now complete! I'll still probably have to tweak a few things, but it's working pretty consistently for how complex it is.
  5. I have installed a top hat! One of the final elements!
  6. It's looking really good! I love the detail in those trains! Also, do you anticipate showing this off to fellow enthusiasts in June?
  7. A slightly more nerdy update this week - I've developed some weird contraptions in order to create a pseudo "block brake system." I actually thinks it's pretty cool.
  8. Got the switch track all fine-tuned and installed!
  9. ^Thanks! I'm getting excited now that the trackwork is almost complete.
  10. Track is going up fast now! I re-profiled the end of the ride and built an inclined dive loop.
  11. Small, but satisfying update this week. The elevator is in place, and functions very well with the coaster.
  12. The elevator is now fully functional! I'm super excited, as I can now go back to building the actual coaster!
  13. The elevator is working pretty well! Watch to see how it works!
  14. Unfortunately, after months of tinkering, I couldn't get the ferris wheel lift to do exactly what I wanted reliably. However, I think I've found a great new solution.
  15. What?! Matterhorn can actually race? I feel so stupid I never knew that before now.
  16. ^Thanks! Back at it this week. Still battling the complicated workings of the Ferris Wheel Lift.
  17. Coaster is done, and soon to be completely demolished. Here's the final video from the event:
  18. I have added all the theming I am going to add. Now the thing is stashed in my car awaiting the onslaught of thousands of fifth graders.
  19. I had to put Rogue Recon on hold for a few weeks since I'm committed to help with a Navy STEM event this Friday. I have built a coaster that will be (hopefully) themed to the Blue Angels. This is the first and only construction update. I plan to have another post for the theming, and a final post summarizing the event itself. Enjoy.
  20. Thanks! Been working on the Ferris Wheel Lift. This is a kind of complicated and slow process, so please bear with me.
  21. ^^ Optimistically, I hope to have the track portion completed by November. The automation, theming, and other effects will take at least another two months. ^Thanks! I have a general outline for what needs to happen at each ride section, but the details happen as I build. In order the show scenes will be: 1) Right out of the station - Boba Fett will give you directions. 2) Ferris Wheel lift - you will encounter one of two characters on your way up, depending on whether you're in an Empire train or a Rebel train. 3) Switch track - you will have an encounter with some sort of creature as you switch from moving backwards to moving forwards. 4) Throne room (pre-launch area)- you will see what happened after the Throne Room scene in the Last Jedi 5) Just before launch - Darth Vader encounter The final scene will take place in the slow turnaround section I just built in this video, before the track drops and twists back to the station.
  22. So, there's this person on Twitter who's legitimately in love with Sky Scream at Holiday Park. Between this and a few news stories I've seen, this seems to be more common than I would have ever believed. Can anyone shed more light on this? And are there groups of coaster enthusiasts who also feel this way?
  23. Working on a little track and a lot of theming. Getting the sound to work was a lot harder than I wanted it to be.
  24. I move around a lot (and I get other ideas I want to build). However, I have put more time into this than any other model. So I'll guess that this one will be up for about 6 months once completed before I tear it down.
  25. ^LOL, I'll try to get him in the videos more often (after all, he did promise!) Spent this week shaping some twists and turns up above the station area. I'm pretty happy with how its turning out, but I still need to strengthen the supports before adding the theming to cover them.
