  1. Does anybody know if there is some sort of connection between flying pigs or just pigs in general to the mardi gras celebration? If so we could see something taking the old Cajun spot. I always thought an El Loco would be pretty cool in that spot. I think it would fit and the station and que is there. But now with Goliath I don't think that would happen at this time. Although it would be a nice fun coaster for the younger crowd that may not feel ready for Goliath. So now my second point, I think the selling point for the new attraction will be based on "people thought this would happen when pigs fly" so maybe a one of a kind 4D show now that SSA is gone. Or some sort of flat. Just my $0.02
  2. So maybe I am looking way too far into this but yesterday and today, while scrolling the ol' Twitter and Facebook, I saw SFGAm had posted a vintage picture on FB with Sky Whirl included and today on Twitter the park posted another vintage picture that looks like it was taken from Sky Whirl. Now I'm not trying to start anything, but a return and re-design of Sky Whirl by Intamin for 2015 would be awesome! Especially considering the park is lacking any real Ferris wheel.
  3. Hey everyone! My family and I are currently on vacation in the Tampa/ St.petes area and we will be visiting Busch Gardens within the next few days (we will be visiting on a weekday). I am just looking for some tips and tricks from all y'all and maybe what you guys think crowds will be like on a weekday and it is saying (Like normal) there is a chance of rain. Also we are looking for any other activities around the area. Thanks everyone!
  4. Website just went down for maintnaince. Everything should be back up now. After reading that. I fully believe they have the chance to make the best wooden coaster in the world, lets see if they can fully produce. I would have never expected it but now thinking about it. That will look soo nice being the the back wooded section of the park, i wonder if they are going to extend out into the wilderness theater for this??
  5. Well I havnt heard officially any last ride events for eagle from any supervisors or even leads... Also if it was a last ride event on eagle it would be within the whole rides department, not just the eagle crew. And also the flier should read American eagle crew, not team members.. But if any of this is true ill let yall know what i can.
  6. Okay, all three of these, in a line, from SFGAm's page. #1 that just sounds like all kinda of bad idea #2 Is he serious? Because a zoning meeting in gurnee Il is for a park in Jackson NJ... #3 What?!?
  7. There are signs up promoting the new "Bermuda Triangle" in Hurricane Harbor which will feature two new haunted houses. Thanks Jon. I was there Weds but must have missed the signs. I did notice some decorations were up, along with signs promoting the first day of FF. I'm not a big maze person, but I enjoy reading about the different scare zones and mazes. I'm assuming clowns will be roaming around Orleans - as usual. New maze wise, there will be 2 mazes in hurricane harbor themed to the Bermuda triangle but i think thats all the new stuff. Also, the clowns roam marde gras (; haha.
  8. I think they are trying to screw with us, i just stopped the video, screenshot and zoomed in on that blue print, it looks like its from many years ago, you can see winners circle still in the front of the park and splash waterfalls is still up in it.
  9. Well i know this is kinda late but i just got to the park for work all i can say now is welcome to six flags great america, i hope you guys have a great time! And don't forget to visit me at bull! Ill be sure to say hello and welcome you to the park if i see you. Have fun everyone!
  10. Guys im just thinking retrospectively but what if this height zoning is just for the 2 feet needed for a boomerang in Cajun's spot.
  11. Oh crap, my bad you're right that Is the south side, sorry. Actually you would be surprised how full the employee lot gets. On an average summer day just the very edge farthest from the park is open.
  12. SFGAm is mostly surrounded by land already devoloped on so that would be a no go, but on the far North side is some un-devoloped farm land but I think thats all private property. All the other sides of the park is either surrounded by development or boarder by the toll way, which would be impossible to bridge over. Now IF the park did get the farm land north of the park they would need to come up with some sort of expensive, very high capacity transportation system to go threw or under eagle and Washington street, so with that said its highly unlikely the park could expand. Hope I was of some help!
  13. Just throwing this out there... CALLED IT!!! So now let the speculation being ladies and gentlemen.
  14. Me neither but honestly at this point i don't know. We also can't rule out a possible water park expansion to be African themed. I wonder what the chances are to expand Yukon Territory to include iron wolfs plot and maybe give them a little better theme platform. Also I don't think they would make too much noise of closing the Amphitheater due to them never using it. Also if it was a sky screamer we should have heard or at least seen the park trying to get construction approval to go higher than x feet. I believe its 125 feet but i honestly don't remember. Anyway i dont think they would go and announce anything that would break that height barrier before approval just on the random off chance the city says no. Which wouldn't happen, but just some assurance to the park. Lastly, am I the only one who things orbit's days are numbered. Every once and a while I see a few people over at it but they don't seem to be making any progress with it.
  15. Hello ladies and male ladies. Well my name is Brandon I've loved roller coasters and parks from before time. I've been lurking on the forum and site for a long time now so i just decided to join. Im 18, my home park is SFGAm. In which I actually work. Contrary to popular belief we don't know anything more about the future of the park than anyone else. I have reason to believe all the parks have some sort of small underground sketchy room with one hanging lightbulb and a table all the higher ups sit at and plan for hours on end. But i could be wrong. I've been to a few parks in my years, but i mostly stay around Great America. Although next summer i do hope to take a trip out to Cedar Point and Kings Island. My favorite ride is Raging Bull, also up there is American Eagle and Demon. Other than that I don't really know anything else to add. Thanks all!
