  1. Am I the only one who had no problems with Gatekeeper's restraints? I rode it 6 or 7 times on media day and thought they were very comfortable.

I'm a skinny guy and that restraint kept clamping down more and more during the ride. It became uncomfortable towards the end for me.

Gatekeeper's restraints puts the squeeze on me, too, yet Wild Eagle's didn't. Go figure.

Same here. No problems w/ Wild Eagle (or X-Flight for that matter), but Gatekeeper was painfully over-tight by the end of the ride. It was also a lot bouncier than I thought it should have been in the back for a brand-new ride.

  2. Well I wonder how many rows will be backwards.

That's actually brilliant. I hadn't thought about it till now, but with SFGAm running Batman Backwards this year, it's at least conceivable that this ride could be designed to run entirely backwards...

I think if I were designing a backwards invert, I would keep the row at the front of the train facing forward, because the experience in the front row of an invert is really awesome.

Or you could do it like an Invertigo, where half face forwards & half backwards...

  3. ^Gold Pass is 10 minutes early and Discover is 5 minutes early.

I highly recommend heading to X2 first because although the line does shorten on Saturdays in shortens from like 2 hours to 1 hour and that line feels like it moves so slow! On the other hand, YoloCoaster gets about an hour line in the morning max due to the line that looks threatening and because they always overestimate the wait times by 30 minutes. (i.e. the line to the end of the canopy is just short of an hour, not 90 minutes as advertised.) and it usually drops to 30-45 minutes in the afternoons. That is also a much more bearable line that feels like it actually moves.

Usually doesn't take longer than 20 minutes to get a Flash Pass.

Do they have a way to tell if my gold season pass is from SFMM instead of SFOG (or do they even care)? My pass doesn't have a park name printed on it.

Do you think I would be able to hit FT w/ the early admission & then make a beeline to X2 before the line gets too bad?

  4. Found out I'm getting sent to LA for work in a couple of weeks, and I've decided to stay an extra day so I can visit SFMM. I was there last spring and wasn't terribly impressed with the park as a whole, but I'm hoping to enjoy the S:EFK, LL:DoD, and FT credits that weren't available then. I thought Ninja was a surprisingly enjoyable coaster (and may have been the highlight of the trip), but I really would have loved to get a second ride in on X2 (first one blew my mind a bit).

I'm going to be there on Saturday the 17th, so I'm expecting it to be quite busy. I'm planning on getting a platinum flash pass to maximize my riding efficiency, but I would really prefer to avoid paying an extra $15/ride for X2 & FT if at all possible. My big question is this: What is the best strategy going to be for first thing in the morning given that I really want to hit both those rides more than once and need to pick up a flash pass for everything else? Make a beeline for Full Throttle & try to get a ride or two in before the line gets too crazy then go pick up the flash pass & deal with the X2 line? I've heard that X2's line can get reasonably short later in the afternoon. Does that hold true for Saturdays as well? And what's the deal with early admission? I've got a Discover Card and a gold season pass. Is FT a ride that opens on time (or early), or does it usually open late (like TTD)?

I've been to a Six Flags park before where it took well over an hour to get a flash pass, despite having purchased it beforehand. Is that something I'm going to run into at SFMM as well if I don't head straight there at park opening?

Again, any and all tips are appreciated. I know it's not Cedar Point, but I'd like to maximize the enjoyment of the time I have there.

    Thanks!
