  1. Can we just appreciate the fact that CGA is getting a new coaster? The drought is over.
  2. I don't mind CGA getting a Raptor too, but hopefully it's the same as Wonder Woman, if not better.
  3. Maybe they need time to build an artificial mountain for the rail to go around
  4. According to Screamscape, Cedar Fair just filed a new trademark name, "RAILBLAZER". It sounds perfect for the RMC Raptor/T-Rex coaster. But it doesn't sound driving related, which is what CGA is teasing for their new coaster.
  5. Just because this new coaster is 110.5 feet doesnt mean its going to be a clone of another coaster at the same height.
  6. An impulse coaster would be pretty tame if it the vertical towers only reached 100 feet. Unless it's slanted like V2, but why would they even bother adding something similar. I guess the impulse it out of the picture, thank God. The RMC Raptor might be a good fit for the space considering it's compact and supposed to have less footers than a typical coaster. It could easily go over foot paths. But it looks low capacity. I'm hoping for an Intamin launched mega-lite.
  7. These companies and neighbors decide to move in next door to a theme park and have the audacity to complain about noise...SMH
  8. They did talk about getting a new log flume, which could mean getting rid of one. It would make more sense to remove WWF than LR. Plus, there's all that space behind WWF that's underutilized.
  9. The stick says #10 and the master plan map lists that spot #10 which refers to a Steel Roller Coaster or Water Coaster.
  10. It's not in the current plans, but I would like to see a dive coaster at CGA. It doesn't take much space and the track could fly above the walkways. Plus it would be a first for the west coast.
  11. ^I totally missed that. Definitely excited for the future of this park!
  12. So I was watching the council meeting video ( ) and noticed something in one of the slides being shown. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the pdf on the Santa Clara website so I just took a screenshot. Is that a red coaster track I see over Rip Roaring Rapids?
  13. I was thinking they could use part of the Fireball area as the queue for the launched coaster that could be placed in the old Tidal Wave spot. But if it's for the hyper, I would be A-OK with that too!
  14. Hopefully the conversion will make it smoother. But im not opposed to getting rid of it either lol. Gold Striker was a great addition but we need a new steel coaster ASAP. If the rezoning passes, I hope they build a hyper. A giga would be better but considering their track record, that probably wont happen.
  15. I think the Vortex conversion will include virtual reality. Ouimet did mention using new technologies considering CGA IS in Silicon Valley. Although a floorless conversion will make the ride more comfortable (hopefully), I don't think it will add a whole new level of thrill to an already outdated ride. Plus CGA can totally market it as the first VR coaster of NorCal.
  16. So what could this land sale possibly mean for Great America and Cedar Fair? I don't speak business.
  17. According to Screamscape, it is rumored that the Vortex conversion has been pushed back to 2017 or maybe wont happen at all. Either way, I feel like we wont get a new coaster anytime soon. Maybe in 10 years. Smh...
  18. People need to give it up on Grizzly being removed or RMC'ed. As much as I want it gone too, they just upgraded the track. I doubt they would have wasted their time and money on Grizzly if they had other future plans.
  19. Wishful thinking, but I hope we get a new coaster for the 2016 season. It would be perfect because it would be a couple years after Gold Striker and the Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium is that year. But if not new... After hearing that Cedar Point is turning Mantis into a floorless coaster, I would actually be satisfied if they did the same to Vortex. The current standing trains are such a headbanger.
  20. that is ridiculous. they should of just expanded the pictorium and built the coaster inside. at least turn those side panels into tunnels. geez cga!
  21. Oh that too! But I was referring to the Morgan Hyper Coaster that was featured in one of the other forums. Check it out: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1096556
  22. Hello all! Jar here. I've been a visitor to this forum for quite a while now and finally decided to join the conversation. As much as I am excited for the GP to experience Gold Striker (which is my favorite coaster at the park now), I am also excited for the future of this park. I can't help but imagine what coaster we will receive next. My guess is probably as good as anyone else's. But I think with the closure of the KidZville River Adventure, I have a feeling the next addition will utilize the Invertigo, Tidal Wave, and River Adventure area. I definitely think the park has room for more rides. There's the space near the lake and the under-utilized pavilion or they can just get rid of Grizzly . Also about the height limit, we have Drop Tower which is a little over 200 feet, so we can't count a hypercoaster out. Didn't we almost get one anyways during the Paramount days?
