  1. i went to the filming event today, and to be completely honest, it was just okay. it was very early, and most of the stuff i filmed got cut (they cropped the footage on FOX 11 so there were none of our interviews, which i missed out on accidentally, and only 2 of us ended up being on FOX 11 at all) however, the PR people were beyond accomdating and nice over the whole “its cancelled... oh wait it isn’t” and they were nice enough to give us breakfest. plus, i got to meet the people i saw on TV, and i believe the reverse POV of us TPRers will be posted which will be cool. so overall, it was tiring, but i did have fun, i’ll upload some pics later

First I want to send BIG THANK YOU to Eric from Knott's Marketing Dept. He made is possible for us to ride with FOX11 News.

Had a great time with my fellow TRP members. it's nice to put screen names to faces. Once in the park it was a little slow and didnt know if we would get to ride. After several minutes of testing we were ready for the first ride with the news crew. The reporter and camera man are not coaster fans, so it made even more fun to hear the screaming through out ride. After 30 minutes Knott's set up a breakfast for all. Bacon burrito was really good and filling. It wasn't long after that we got back on and was fearful of possible protein spills. All was good and everyone's food remained in their bellies.

Hangtime is GREAT! Knott's has a winner on their hands. The back row is the best! When the train is sitting at the holding brake pending release. The back whips over and you experience serious ejector time. The rest of the ride is fun and has you smiling and laughing through out it.

I can't wait to see the reverse POV of us. I was told they used a portion of it on the news along with our interviews. would love to do more stuff like this for TPR.

    Thank You Knott's Crew

ADMIN EDIT: Unauthorized onride photos deleted.

  2. Got my email this afternoon. See you all bright and early. Can't wait!

    cancelled now.

Drove from Ventura and was told here at the gate its was cancelled. Spoke to marketing manager and said sorry and that email was sent late last night. Advise him that I was asleep because I had the get up early.

    So pissed right now.

As I was sitting in car typing this email. He came and knocked on my window. He said Fox11 is looking for people and wants me in the shoot. I guess I will get my chance to ride Hangtime today.

  3. Went to the park yesterday and it was DEAD.............! The employees were so BORED! I ran into an employee I used to work with back in the 90's. She is going on 24 years at MM. She is so sweet and a happy individual.

Through out the day I kept watching a coaster junkie run from ride to ride, like if the park was going to be packed! Everything was pretty much walk on except FT, it was one train operation. Avoided Tatsu this time. Preztel loop gets to me now (I'm getting old) Had the best ride ever on Viper. Really Utilized my Elite Pass. A lot discounts on food and merchandise. It was a GREAT DEAL!

Walked up to Ninja and seen how much land clearing had been done for the Newhall Ranch Project. It's going to suck seeing homes build in view. Their will be a massive driveway leading up to where homes are going to be built. Wish I would have taken pictures of that. Maybe next time. Also this is the area that was on fire last December! Just go back to December and see the pictures of the jumbo jet dropping fire retardant.

I hope they make them sign a paper stating that SFMM has been here for years and no modifications will be made to rides in order to keep noise level down. You know what you are buying and that is that!

Hmmm...... really looking at this picture. Would love to see MM from my back yard! Maybe once they are built I will consider buying a home with the backyard facing MM!

  4. Please understand the amount of vandalism we deal with. Been on X2 lately? People will carve into just about any surface from toilet seats to roller coaster restraints. It is very expensive and frustrating. Mirrors aren’t even an option anymore.

So True! That's what happened when I was waiting on Revy and seen those 2 idiots. Got them kicked out!

It's sad that some people must feel the need to vandalize other property.

  5. ^Yeah, I didn't think it was very crowded for a Spring Break crowd either... but I also left around 12:30, so I didn't know if it lasted.

I did notice there was a fair amount of people wearing the Gold membership lanyards and cards. It made me wonder, does anyone have one yet? Especially the Elite level? I'm curious how they handle the "front of the line on one/two rides" (depending on membership level) pass for those cards. I'm assuming they scan your pass at the Fast Lane, somehow?

I have the Diamond Elite Pass and went twice to pick it up and they didn't have them in. Said the cards where not in yet! Going next week, so hopefully next they will have them and if not. I will be raising hell at SFMM!

  6. So did SFMM finally come to their senses and completely ditch VR on Revolution? They announced last year's VR at the beginning of February, but there doesn't seem to be any signs that it's returning this year. The sign on the station also says, "Classic Revolution" now.

I thought it was fun to experience once or twice, but it wasn't worth the 90-minute wait when other rides had 20-30 minute waits.

    What do you guys think?

I hope so! Did not like the whole VR Fad!

    Keep My Classic Revolution PLEASE!

  7. I went yesterday to get my Diamond Pass and they did not have them. I was told to come back in 3 weeks to pick up. So here I have this pass that I bought on line and could not use the benefits it offers, nor get the bottle or lanyard. So now I have to go back when Spring break is going on and having to deal with the idiot kids.

I got in a few rides before I got sick. First ride was FT and I noticed this lady in a wheel chair with 2 teens and they were telling her to get on, she didn't want to. Well after a few thoughts, she got on and sat right behind me. Well from the time we launched she was screaming I'M DYING, I'M DYING! Then at reverse launch and forward shot out of the tunnel, her screams were louder. We crested the top of the loop and hit the brakes. Now she is screaming for a Medic (I NEED A MEDIC, I NEED A MEDIC). I grabbed my hat and keys from the box and left. I didn't want to stay for that drama.

Park was nice rides looking decent. Noticed The Classic Revy trains looking a little tired and beat up! I seen two kids taggin on the back of seat when I was waiting. I yelled at them (WHAT THE F*&*! WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT?) People looked at me and an employee came over and I showed her. Well the opened the lap bars and they got escorted out!

Hoping to be out in a few weeks to pick up my Diamond Pass. Hopefully I could met up with some fellow TPR peep's, If you don't mind an loud outspoken guy?

  8. Can I expect Six Flags Magic Mountain to be dead tomorrow, even though this whole week is Bring a Friend for Free? Does that have much of an effect on off-season weekday crowds? Thanks.

My brother, who is a ride op at SFMM, said the park has been consistently dead during the week. The only day it's typically crowded this time of year is Saturday.

Shoooot........ I will be there tomorrow. Gonna love it!

  9. It would be a no-brainer to go all the way with Diamond Elite. I still would prefer to pay for a full year up front as I like to pay cash rather than give a credit card or access to my bank account. It is a wait and see as to how the chain moves forward on this and if they eventually offer that option to pay all at once. (Anyone without a credit card might be out of luck.) Also - the tiers with the unlimited soft drinks would diminish the value of the Premium Dining pass - also with unlimited soft drinks.

It will be a very interesting Flash Sale later this year for sure.

At any rate I am very happy the chain is trying new options.

I feel the same way! I had my ID stolen back in 2001 from an employee at Six Flags. It was HORRIBLE trying to clean that up. I'd rather pay the whole year up front rather than have them touch my CC or Bank!

  10. I totally agree with the statement that Six Flags can increase their Season Pass pricing dramatically! I say that as both a stock holder and gold pass guest. They maybe doing this with the coming change in the Gold Pass / new Membership program. The details haven't been released yet. Stay tuned, it's coming soon. Also I'm a fan of the new president Neil Thurman. I think he'll do good things. You already see him walking the park with a "garbage stick."

As a stock holder and pass holder too, I have always wanted them to raise the price. I have mention several ways to bring in money and reinvest in the park. Making it the way it was in the 80's. It seems like a far shot but it can be done. Listen to us people who invest and get some ideas.

lets not always aim for the biggest baddest kick A$$ coaster. Their are some great small coasters that are more reasonable. Also lets get the flats in this park. I have always said turn Colossus County Fair into a fair atmosphere with rides like, Falling Star, Zipper, Sky Wheel, Sky Diver etc etc!

    This park can be GREAT!

  11. Hated GL since the first day I rode it. I think SFMM wasted money on this ride and space. I wish they would have put in a coaster like El Toro at Circus Circus. Make it a little larger with more inversions. That would fit perfect!

Or remove it and put some crazy flat rides.

    ^El Loco rather?

Darn auto correct on my phone, sorry!

Yes El Loco would be a lot better then GL. Of course that is my opinion!

  12. So scary to see that, even in a photo!

Glad to read you got spared. Hope it sticks.

How are your dogs doing, now?

Hope they're not too freeked out, still.

Dogs are doing good! Fire is only 10 percent contained and is growing fast. Fires could possibly shift back our way and burn what was missed last week.

Air quality is bad in are area. Here are some photos..............

  13. Fires still bad here in Ventura County. We were evacuated Monday night around 11:30 pm. Never been through this and it was scary watching my neighbors panic and throw stuff in their cars, not knowing if we come back to a house. I did my best to get personal stuff, external hard driver, water and snacks and 2 bossy Dobermans in my 4runner.

I drover away I cried because its was my house, something that I worked very hard for and didn't know if I would see it again. Yes they say its materialistic but when you go through this, you are not thinking that . You cry because of the pictures and any other memorable things you might lose.

As I sat at the beach watching the mountains burn and seeing the flames get closed to my neighborhood, all I could do was pray and cry!

Thankfully my house was spared but a few others did not. I was finally let back in yesterday to find my home smelling like smoke really bad. Shoot.............. I'm about to make Fabreeze & Lysol more richer with all I have to buy to take the stench out!

Here is a photo from my front yard 1 hour before it moved towards our direction and we got evacuation notice!

I ask that you keep the others in fire danger zones in thought.

  14. The front end ride control software was a windows program. That's all you need to know.

Come on now, I though it was going to be something else. I know about software! I have 2 families still working there and on occasion one work's X2. She is a Engineer major and knows all the in's & out's of X2. She did a paper on it and mechanics of this beast and is very knowledgeable. I don't even bring it up because she will talk me down!
