  1. I have the dubious distinction of riding Windjammer and Flashback on consecutive days on my first ever coaster trip (1997)
  2. Yeah open daily in Sept. blew my mind when I saw that. I assume it has something to do with JL not opening until mid-late summer leading to more anticipated traffic than usual in Sept.
  3. Definitely pays to go earlier in the season. We went Thursday Sept 29 for the first 2 hours and at least during that time it wasn't bad at all. Infected was probably hour+ soon after opening but Shadowlands, Red Barn, Winter, Tooth, & Gunslinger were all walk-ons during the first hour+. Paranormal was backing up a bit because of the preshow, but still probably < 30 minutes. Voodoo had a short line. Didn't try Ghostrider. Xcellerator and SS were walk-ons.
  4. lucky it was operating at all, it was closed until at least noon when we left
  5. We were there yesterday the 2nd and the school holiday on the 3rd obviously was a huge crowd factor. The first couple hours were reasonable but during the afternoon and particularly evening it was insanely busy for an offseason Sunday. Parking was well into the dirt, FT 2 hours, unusually long lines for mazes on a Sunday night etc.
  6. Anyone know why the park is scheduled to be open Monday Oct 3 this year? (the week before Columbus Day) My family has been planning a Fright Fest trip Fri-Sun Sept 30-Oct 2 and wondering if there's a special event that Monday, or if it might be a good day to target for really low daytime crowds? Thanks!
  7. Blackout dates attached to the cheapest level season pass is a new thing this year, correct? Asking because we bought regular 2013 passes in Sept. 2012 and are intending to return on Sat Oct. 5 this year. I recall there were only 3 levels when we purchased, not 4, and saw nothing about blackout dates.
  8. I was the photographer for those 2 above shots. A third -
  9. I was standing by Perilous Plunge when the cable snapped in 2009, have some disturbing pics of the radical damage to the front of the train, distressed father/son etc. It might be irrational fear, but nobody in my family would ever ride in or even near the front again after witnessing that.
  10. Quick question from someone from out of state who will be attending KSF for the first time. We will likely be staying at the Radisson on Beach, which I understand is an easy walk to the park during the day. I'm wondering if it would be a safe walk back to the hotel in the middle of the night after the haunt, thanks.
  11. we were there on the weekend with the jubilee in sept 2009. the contrast between saturday and sunday was amazing. sat was packed with teenagers all the way until close - i remember waiting over an hour for superman at 8 pm. sun was a ghost town with mostly walk ons all day.
  12. our arrival day is the first FF saturday, so i'm assuming there will be a massive stream of people coming in around 6 PM
