Cool photos Robb! I visited the Funcenter back in 2006 and it pretty much looks exactly the same today (gotta love all that Coke theming!). I do seem to remember there being a swinging ship there back then though.
I'm sure I saw something about it being the largest mall in Europe at some point but personally didn't think it was that much bigger than some of the malls we have over here.
Still it's a cool place. More malls should have random credits in them!
-
Great photos Soren! I was annoyed at myself for not taking photos of Sequoia Lodge when I stayed there on the Europe trip last year so this was a nice refresher of the place for me! I had forgotten how nice the lobby area was.
Looking forward to the rest!
-
^ If us Scots have to ride it then I think everyone else should!
I personally can't wait to bring Lou up to M&Ds and ride Tornado with her one day! It's probably about the only way I'd ever ride it again!
-
The invert is the second best coaster, Chuck. There's a clone of BGT's Scorpion at Loudoun Castle which is far and away the best in the country!
We actually went around the sideshows looking for one that gave away Snow Putty but alas we couldn't find any.
Thanks for the comments people!

When I was up visiting friends and family in my native Glasgow last weekend I took some time out to catch up with some of my fellow Glascownian TPR friends and walk around looking at the rides in M&Ds.
No, I didn't ride anything, but Scott and Steve did. They rode one thing. You see M&Ds isn't really the kind of place you want to be riding things that you don't have to. What did need to be done was some documentation of rides and signs for TPR's Park Index which I tried my best to accomplish.
On this visit to M&Ds we discovered that the best way to have a good day here is to NOT ride things! LOL!
Here's some photos...
I better get out of here before the Crazy Hot Dog Dude mauls me!
Thanks for reading!
This has got to be the scariest thing any of us had ever seen!
As is often the case Scott suddenly feels the urge to dance!
Scott and Steve give the "we survived a ride at M&Ds! Thank Jeebus!" thumbs up.
Though that isn't saying much given that there are only twelve in the country!
It's probably the second best coaster in Scotland.
To be honest though, this one isn't too bad.
Sign of quality.
I on the other hand was much smarter!
These are the stupid people who chose to actually ride something!
Tsunami is where they be headed! Complete with creepy giant kid!
Time for some of us to actually ride something! Tokens are in hand!
Don't know where that feeling came from though.
Though I kept getting the impression they were trying to sell me something.
The indoor eating area is surprisingly somewhat themed.
And prizes that Mike Fudge would just love!!!
They've got a ride that Dave Fudge would appreciate very much.
This one is for Larry.
Thankfully the little dude gets a bit more normal sized at the Big Apple.
Here's another. This one actually looks semi-permanent. A rarity for M&Ds!
I guess I should actually post a picture of the ride that brought all that theming to Scotland.
"AHHH! I'm stuck in M&Ds!!! Get me out!"
Beware Cap'n Jock Sparra presiding over the swinging ship!
Good to see that whilst planning this area things like spelling were taken into serious consideration!
Good to see that Southern Steve was able to join us.
Poor Steve couldn't ride due to perennially firing his cannon in vain.
Reports of Bob Marley working as a ride op in Scotland may well have been true.
M&Ds surprised us all recently by actually adding some THEMING into the park!
This may be coaster porn but its that really rough, seedy kind!
Poor, poor unfortunate people.
I'm kind of sad this didn't finish last on the coaster poll in 2008. There really isn't anything worse I've rode!
Today's single rider line was quite lively.
The best thing about Tornado is this very sign. Heed these warnings people!!!
Yes, the kid is almost as big as Scottish Steve!
This is the closest there is to a ride sign for Tornado. That's one monster sized kid!!!
Speaking of cheap and nasty...
It doesn't get nastier than this!
These have always looked a bit cheap and nasty to me. The perfect fit for M&Ds really.
It looks like fun. By M&Ds standards at least!
Sadly Jeff Johnson won't be able to partake of this one.
Bomber Mark 2. The last time there was a ride like this in the park it was taken away within weeks. Hopefully this one lasts a little longer.
Next to the Wave Swinger is M&Ds new for 2009 ride...
Here's one for the closet chair swing fan boys. You know who you are!
Express is actually one of the better rides in the park. That's not saying much.
For a change this only has one name.
The Giant Wheel was wearing it's "girly pink" outfit today.
That's a lot of info for a ride sign!
Good to see that the rules of punctuation are adhered to!
It's an old spinning coaster that was refurbed without the spinningness. More parks should take this approach with such rides.
This is one of those "dual identity" coasters that we have in the UK. Mine Train/Runaway Mine Train. Take your pick!
It's a sunny Sunday afternoon in Glasgow. Rare occasions like this don't come along often. You'd think that M&Ds would be the LAST place I'd want to visit right? Well Larry needs ride signs and I said I get 'em!
-
I'm disappointed that the colour scheme has been ditched!
Looks like a cool area though. I'd say they might be a bit similar to things already in Heide Park but they already have two of everything in the park anyway so this just adds to the charm!
-
and the tune is still there
All I needed to hear!!!
Amazing photos again Hanno! Especially the Colosseo ones, they bring back so many good memories from last year. I can't wait to get back to Europa in 2010!
-
Amazing photos Hanno! I've absolutely loved the two Legolands I've visited before and I'm really determined to make it out to the other two soon!
You don't often see or hear much about the German Legoland so this really was a nice "first look" for me so thanks very much!
Does The Dragon coaster in Germany have the dark ride section at the start like the Danish and British versions?
-
Elz, it was great to see you again and meet Chrissy at Thorpe!
If Chrissy's a TPR geek you need to get her on a TPR trip with us in the future!
-
Even if she wasn't my girlfriend I'd still be voting for Lou!
Janice is awesome though so she'd be my second choice!
-
Yeah I really should stress that Saw was not a bad ride and it was only a few spots that were rough, nothing that made it unrideable or anything. It seemed to be worse on the outside rows, which is understandable. My ride in the centre of the back row was very good. I did like it, especially the dark part at the start. Would I wait two hours for it? No, but then I never did wait more than 20 minutes for it at the weekend. It is a good addition to Thorpe and if it's a sign of things to come from Merlin then I'm excited.
I quite liked the Windsor rapids. That said, the rapids in Billund at least "looked" to be better than the ones in Windsor. Mainly because of that drop that the Danish version has which is absent on the Windsor ones, they looked pretty similar apart from that. We'll find out for sure in a couple of months!
The whole setup at Jungle Coaster now is just baffling what with the timeslots, greenhouses, loading etc... They only allow two adults per car which I don't remember being the case before (though maybe I'm forgetting). I guess the greenhouse adds too much extra weight.
I had to do a bit of trimming on the group photo as it wasn’t framed very well (not complaining though, as the random girl was good enough to take our photo without running off with my camera!). I’m pleased with how it came out alright in the end, especially after such an exhaustive location search!
-
I have no idea what you're talking about Steve. Everything in that queue line was BOLTED down!
Elissa, that is amazing if you guys can pull that off!

THORPE PARK
Day 2 of our little excursion took us to Thorpe Park. Now I should probably point out that Thorpe Park is one of my least favourite parks to visit. Mainly because there's only about two rides in the park I actually like. That said there's a new credit there and with our group there is no place on earth that we couldn't possibly have a ball.
Obviously the big attraction is now Saw, which is themed quite well (especially for Thorpe) and has a really cool dark ride section at the start. The coaster part itself I thought was a bit average and a little rougher than I expected for a brand new coaster. I think I may have expected it to be as good as Speed which it certainly isn't. It's more on a par with Rage, which isn't bad, but not great. The theming does give it that bit extra though.
We started the day by running straight to Saw. This is something you really have to do as the capacity is terrible right now. Throughout the day the wait was posted at about two hours. Luckily for us we went at the right times and got to ride without any horrendous waits.
The rest of the day was spent making our way round the rest of Thorpe's delights. We managed to work it all out quite well and our longest wait of the day was probably about 30 minutes or so for X!
I also want ot mention the employees at the park. For the most part there was a real improvement in thme from the last time I was there. Especially the guys at Saw. They were amazing. They really should give them some themed costumes though.
Anyway, here's the photos!
Divv definitely approves of Thorpe making an effort at theming rides! Hopefully we see more of this from Merlin in the future!
What a great weekend! Thanks to everyone who was there and thanks to everyone for reading!
This our Super Fun Saw group! We had an amazing day!
It wasn't as rough as it's been on previous visits. Just very "rattly".
Oh yeah, we rode Colossus too.
Seems you can't put your hands anywhere in Thorpe without getting it stuck in a pile of syringes!
Luckily we went at the right times and really didn't have to wait long. It's a good fun ride.
I've never seen the movies but this stuff looked freaky!
Back to Saw to laugh at Scottish Steve being abused by staff members!
Everyone - attack Lou!
Steve's verdict: They've been FIXED!
Word was that the "you may get slightly moist, like a towelette" rapids had now been "fixed".
Lou was not allowed to say no to the rapids.
Brad LOVED Quantum. In fact I think it's his favourite ride in the park!
Mike's excited for Quantum.
Mexican wave!
These are the non-lame people who went and rode Rush!
Nemesis Inferno need not worry about the arrival of Saw. I still think it's the best ride in the park!
The good thing about Saw having all the park goers in its queue is that it meant Stealth had really short lines. We only waited about 20 mins!
Bradley took that opportunity to run for breakfast.
Some of the crew jumped at the opportunity to get on Slammer whilst the line was short.
Random Saw crap you can buy.
The airtime hill is great though! Always the best part of these rides!
Just at the end of the first drop there's this really random rough spot. Nothing terrible, though it was surprising for such a new ride.
It's that lift hill that really makes the Eurofighters unique.
Twist, twist, twist.
Down the first drop it goes.
Anth decided to be sad and pathetic and ride by himself.
They're never gonna breathe again but at least they're getting on first!
These crazy dudes managed to run fast enough and get to the entrance first!
No wait, that's not right. We're here for Coleslaw: The Ride!
That's right for 2009 Thorpe have rethemed Samurai as a Eurofighter!
Something worth running for Steve?
What's that over the water?
Yup, you guessed it (or read the title of this thread) - we're at Thorpe Park!
-
By popular demand!
Steve randomly showed up at one point with a balloon. I really hope it wasn't prised out some poor child's hands!
Okay, that's it for your "bonus" update! I'll do Thorpe later!
Brad, it's like 5am. Get to bed!
Fudge 1 just looks creepy in the disguise!
Looks like he might needing that disguise soon!
Lou tries out Steve's "Drunken Disguise".
Mark - this is exactly what I'm bringing to Scandi!
This is Scottish Steve. He startles easily.
Mike's problem #46 - Divv's posting bar photos.
And attempt #2...
If you haven't been to Wagamama before you really must try it. It's amazing!
Group photo attempt #1
Our guest at dinner was Pete Doherty.
Poor Brad really struggled with the chop sticks but never gave up!
Done!
Here's mine - number 42. That's all you need to know. Go order it!
Here's Lou's dinner of choice. Very tasty!
Mike, there's a Wagamama at Tivoli Gardens in Denmark. Sign up for Scandi and eat with us there!
A staple of these Brit Crew get togethers is dinner at Wagamama!
-
Legoland Part 2...
I really think Legoland is one of the best parks to visit as part of a group. I can't wait to get back to the one in Billund for more fun like this in a couple of months!
Thorpe Park will be up at some point this week!
Here's our supertastic fun group of Generic Lego Fans. We had a great day!
Is it Anth or is it Hitler?
It's just like the Lego special olympics.
Mike's problem #88 - Doesn't have a real grass skirt.
Is he Dave or is he Laq?
If you're in Legoland make sure you do Rocket Racers. Not so much for the ride but really because it has the BEST pre-show video this side of Sea Odyssey at Port Aventura!
Denmark is the only country in the world where the ducks are bigger than the cows. Who's excited about Scandi now?!
BLAST OFF! Well, not quite.
The group gets super excited about the big shuttle launch!
If you look real closely at the displays you find loads of cool little easter eggs like this.
I think I can see Lego Steve in the bar!
Yup, the streaker is still there!
This be a dead skeleton made o' Blocko says I!
Mike's problem #63 - sitting in the front of the Log Flume.
So whilst none of those guys could breath for five minutes Steve took the opportunity to lie back and recover from the previous night!
We tried squeezing five into this boat. It didn't quite work out.
The only reason Dave wanted to ride was so he could play with the Duplo in the line.
Yup, Pirate Falls was next.
These poor wet people have Ben to blame for their plight.
These rapids are very "RCT".
What better ride to get in the mood for Scandi than Viking's River Splash?!
Mike's problem #27 - too many bananas.
-
Hi people!
A bunch of British TPR members couldn't wait til June for the Scandi Trip to start so we needed to come up with some excuse to go get drunk and stay up late earlier! With Thorpe Park opening Saw: The Ride recently we had the perfect excuse we needed. On top of Saw a few people in the group hadn't been to Legoland before which we felt would provide a nice complement to the madness of Thorpe. We had a great weekend!
Updates...
LEGOLAND (below)
So the first day we did Legoland. I just love this place. It's probably the best themed park in the UK next to Alton Towers and its just tons of fun. We weren't quite sure if we could do a whole day at Legoland but we found that when you have a great group of people you can spend a whole day there very easily!
Without doubt the best ride at Legoland is Fire Academy, there's nothing funnier than competing against your friends and pumping away! Check out Steve's video (keep an eye on Anth!):
[coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=P1030011_5ccg[/coastertube]
Here's some photos...
Fire Academy is Divv approved! I can't wait for a TPR takeover in Billund!
More Legoland fun to come...
If you're wondering why Brad looks so buggered watch the video above!
I'm convinced that this was designed specifically with TPR in mind.
Time for the best ride in Legoland!
Of course this group is incapable of passing a slide without staging a takeover.
"Yes, we're all members of the Hobosexual Alliance."
I'm so excited to see Q-Bots in a Merlin park. Hopefully Alton, Chessington and Thorpe will follow suit soon!
The whores were also too lazy to walk up the hill.
The whores rode this. I just took a photo of the sign for TPR's park index.
Cartoonish photo of TPDave quota: FILLED.
"I'm Super Dragon Train, gimme some track!"
The evil dragon certainly had seen better days.
Beware the curses of Generic Wizard Man.
Looks like it worked!
Dave is always on the lookout for new ways of attracting females.
I guess this means we did The Dragon next.
We tried bribing the ride ops to lock them in. Unfortunately the Legoland employees are way too honest.
The greenhouse makes it a very loud experience as the bits all smack against each other through the ride.
Greenhouse POV.
That is indeed an enclosed car!
No you are not seeing things.
Ooh a ride sign! We must have rode this next!
Today's lunch and DNA menu is brought to you by Steve.
I'll let you think of your own dirty caption for this one!
Waiting for Steve to pass and pressing the water bomb button was a fun game!
Whilst we waited for our Jungle Coaster slot we laughed at each other on the Wave Surfer.
If you visit Legoland on a weekend you're not allowed to queue up for it. The only way you can ride is by picking up one of these "fastpasses".
The Battle of the Daves is reaching all new levels of gore and brutality!
The ride itself is good fun. Maybe not worth the long waits but it's nice to have another dark ride in the UK.
Lou loves generic Egyptian heads.
The queue is littered with Lego "artifacts". Luckily these are bolted down in case people try and move them.
Beware pickpockets in training when in the queue!
The first stop was the "new for 2009" shooting dark ride - Laser Raiders!
Brad's excited because we're at Legoland!!!
-
DAYS 12 & 13:
DISNEYLAND PARIS - Part 4
Okay so here's the final update...
We started this morning with some super exclusive ERT on Big Thunder. We were all amazed! After a few rides I headed back to the hotel for some more sleep since I'd only gotten an hours sleep after all the fun of the previous night. I would have stayed in bed but there was no way I was missing out on Disney ERT!
Later in the day we had a great farewell dinner at Chef Mickey's which amused me endlessly mainly due to Erik professing his undying love for the furries. I don't think I can repeat on here his exact words...
The trip was capped off with the "Enchanted Fireworks" or whatever they were called. I have to say I expected them to be crap but I thought they were actually pretty good! Much better than Wishes that I'd see in Florida later in the year I think! Plus, these were made even better by witnessing Big Mike clearing out people who were obstructing Lou's view using any means necessary!
Not much else to say about the parks now that hasn't already been said. I just want to reiterate how amazing not only this day but the entire trip was. I can't imagine having a summer without a TPR trip now. It really is the time of your life.
So I'd like to say a big thanks to Robb & Elissa for all their hard work putting this together, everyone on the trips appreciates it so much. I for one can't wait for Scandi and know its gonna top this one. As tough as that might be!
A big thanks to all the participants too. You do the first TPR trip to visit the parks but the next one (and every one after!) is all about the friends! That's the number one reason I'm doing Scandi this year. Can't wait to see everyone again in the future!
And that does it for this TR. If you stuck with it til the end I thank you kindly.
I had a fantastic time visiting some amazing parks and hanging with some amazing friends! Thanks to everyone who had a part in it!
I look forward to doing it all again in Scandi!!!
Note to self... At 5am the sprinklers in the resort start spraying the path without warning. Do not be walking around the resort at 5am unless you want to get soaked (again).
After the parks closed we got together at the bar to say our farewells. This is always the saddest part of the trip. Good thing I'll be seeing most of you again in a couple of months!!!
The fireworks were a good surprise. Much better than expected!
The trip was excellently capped off by DLP's first fireworks display of the summer.
Night time parades are always better with hotties like Belle added.
I'm surprised any of these night photos came out. My camera usually sucks at such things.
DLP's castle is amazing looking. Especially when they light it green! The snake was obstructing our view for a few seconds but Big Mike took care of it.
For a few minutes Lou got confused and thought she was in Japan.
After 16 days of this we all went a little crazy. Brad especially so here.
SMALL WORLD!!! The house I grew up in looks EXACTLY like this!
Final DUCK credit of the trip!!! Which also happened to right next to our final ride of the trip...
We finished the trip meal collection with an awesome dinner in Chef Mickey's. Erik was super excited to meet all the characters!
One thing I did not do was ride this again! No thank you!
Again, it was quite crowded today so I was content just walking around and recovering from the previous night!
Pirates is my favourite ride in the world. I could ride this all day!
Adventureland is Fudgey's kind of place.
I'd visited DLP before but this was closed. So despite not counting it I really wanted to tick that box on CoasterCounter!
Because we have Big Thunder Mountain ERT! That's right ERT at a Disney park! Surely this must be a first for an enthusiast group?!
Ooh, we're going behind the scenes! Why?
Early the next morning we head back into Disneyland. It was celebrating it's 15th anniversary didn't you know?
-
Yeah, despite being really happy about doing the upgrade to Sequoia (new Disney hotel credit!) I would still say that it ranks fifth out of the five resort hotels we did on the trip. That's not to say it wasn't great because it really was. The others were just unbelievable!

DAYS 12 & 13:
DISNEYLAND PARIS - Part 3
HURRICANE'S
After some great time in the parks we headed out for a night in Disney Village. After much alcohol consumption we headed into their nightclub, Hurricane's and marveled in awe at the sight of Steve tearing up the dance floor! I'd seen photos and videos from Spain but NOTHING prepares you for the real thing! I'm really hoping for a repeat performance at some point in Scandi!
This was one of the best nights of my life! If you're looking for park or even semi-Disney photos then skip this update. If you want to marvel at Steve and laugh then this update is for you!
This was such an amazing evening that I'll never forget!
One last update to go...
Steve, you're a star. I'm just sad I didn't take video!
Here was our awesome Hurricane's group. Except Steve, who was too busy to be concerned by things like group photos!
Oh, and look Lou, I'm this one! Yay!
Not to be outdone, Brad really shocked us all with his moves too!
It's like playing Where's Wally, except this is "Where's Steve and who's he accosting now?"
Now that is HOT!
Yes, there were actually other people in Hurricane's this evening!
"Have you seen this guy move?!?!"
I still have no idea how he did it. Steve you're amazing!
No one was safe!
He did this for hours! Seriously!
I've never seen anything like it!
Steve can move!!!
"Dance with me bitch!"
We obviously weren't good enough for Steve to dance with so he headed out looking for new partners.
As soon as we got into Hurricane's Steve started tearing up the dance floor!
After a great day in the parks we venture out into Disney Village.
-
DAYS 11 - 13:
DISNEYLAND PARIS - Part 2
The next morning we got up bright and early for some hotel ERT in Disneyland Park. This was a really good chance to get some rides out the way before the masses and masses of visitors flooded in today.
Being totally honest, parkwise, this visit to DLP wasn't anywhere near as good as my visit just over a year earlier (See that TR HERE). The staff, crowd control and operations just weren't up to the standard we'd gotten used to for the past week in the German parks. That said, I still love DLP and we had a fantastic group who had an amazing time there!
We started out with some Extra Magic Hours in Discoveryland and headed to Space Mountain. On my previous visit I thought it was a bit bumpy but still quite good. This time it was horrific! Bad, I mean Gouderix bad! A real shame too because the onboard audio and the show inside really are cool!
After about half an hour of EMH we left and set up camp outside the not-yet-opened-for-the-day Walt Disney Studios entrance with grand plans of being amongst the first riders of Crush's Coaster since the thing seems to be a bit of a capacity nightmare. Such problems aren't helped when there isn't any Fast Passes and get even worse when the coaster doesn't even open with the park. Our group grabbed Tower Fast Passes and got in line for Crush waiting to see if it would open after over an hour our Tower fast passes were good and we decided to cut our losses and go ride Tower. This was a good idea because Crush didn't open for a while after we left. Tower was good, not quite up to a par with the Florida version as expected but a much needed addition to the park.
We basically hopped between the parks eventually getting on Crush later in the day. I was a bit "meh" about it. The dark ride section, the cars and the station were fantastic. The coaster itself was just a coaster in the dark. I think a little more could have been done inside to make it feel a bit more "Disney-ish". That said the Maurer spinners are fun and whilst this was no Winjas or Dragon's Fury I did like it. I just expected more.
Okay, that's all I can be bothered saying about our first day at Disney. Here's some photos...
Despite the crowds we had a a great day! And the fun was only just beginning!
Next up - the update Steve has been anxiously awaiting!
Yes we did ride Crush in the end! And yes Lou is trying to ruin this photo but I'm posting it anyway because Rach looks like she actually enjoyed it!
This sign rocks.
The station for Crush really was cool! You can't help but freaking love the seagulls!
MINE!!!
After about 40 minutes of waiting for Crush again Steve lets the previous night start catching up with him.
Fudgey approves of the road to the Studios...
This dragon has no German Lesbian Energy. This makes it sad.
It really was a nice day so the park was looking great!
Indy was it's usual "ride once and never again" self.
Random group photo at Phantom Manor!
Jeez look at those crowds!
With the Studios conquered for now we did a little hop. It's starting to get a wee bit busy in the mother park.
Everyone must stop moving whilst Lou pays homage to Casablanca!
Yay for Tower and for the fact that we're gonna ride something in the Studios!
I don't know what kind of message Erik is trying to convey here but I'm very amused!
Whilst we were in the queue I let Lou wander off with my camera. Unsurprisingly this is what she came back with.
We got in line for this. But didn't ride this morning.
After a short time in Discoveryland we camped out at the Walt Disney Studios entrance.
This was my score in Buzz Lightyear it would seem. I can't even remember if this was a good score?!
Bill's smiling here so this is obviously BEFORE they rode!
Morning! And welcome to Extra Magic Hours at Disneyland Paris!
-
Sounds like we don't have anywhere near enough experience at guess the crotch.
Disney update coming up...
-
^ Not quite Hurricane's yet! But don't worry - it's not far off!
Here's a mini update from our first night in Disney Village...
---
DAYS 11 - 13:
DISNEYLAND PARIS - Part 1
DISNEY VILLAGE
After a bit of a wait to check in at Disney a bunch of us somehow managed to find our way out to Disney Village and drifted towards the bar with their HUGE beer glasses...
And you though the "Divv shot" couldn't get any creepier!!!
Actual park photos coming up next!
We had an awesome first night in Disney Village! I hope that's a plastic glass Steve!!!
If you had trouble figuring out who was who this might help!
Okay, so I went off for a wander at some point and left my camera with Lou. I get my camera back and find these nine photos! So here you go - Lou's "Guess the Crotch 2008"!
What's this like 17 litres of beer?
You think after doing this every night for two weeks it'd get boring. But no!
-
THE TOUR BUS!
Just taking a quick break from the parks and resorts to highlight another of the many amazing facets of a TPR trip. The transport. Seriously the bus we had for this trip was all kinds of amazing and it really was a great laugh to enjoy the stress free comfort as you were ferried from park to park.
As if you needed another reason to do a TPR trip!
Seriously, the buses provided on these trips are amazing! Much better riding in these than in a stuffy car trying to work out how to get to the next park.
Just let someone else do that for you and relax!
Even Fran got to sample the delights of the VIP bus!
"How's it going everyone?"
Those seats reclined back really far. Very easy to get a sleep. Well it was in between all the boozing and gambling going on.
Here we have the table where the strippers danced. (Note - stripper not featured in picture)
These were the TPR tour buses in Europe. I'll give you a guided tour of the one I was on - the "VIP bus"!
-
You're a brave man drinking Tennents in any country Chuck!
Great TR! I wanna go back to BGE and now there's a new credit there it makes justifying going back even easier.
Of course I'm already there in Merrie Olde England and am just too lazy to get out my bed.
-
-
Thanks for the replies people! Europa truly was amazing - 2010 sounds about right!
---
DAY 11:
WALYGATOR
This was less of a full on park visit and more of an "extended rest stop" (with coasters!). I think everyone was happy it was worked out this way. We really didn't need long in this park to get the credits and really there wasn't anything worth riding more than once. Especially not Anaconda which is right down there with my worst woodies. Although you couldn't help be amused by the screeches of pain coming from riders!
The real highlight was when we got there, everyone was quite tired and the weather wasn't great. Well, I'd managed to get a hold of a map and I remember pointing out to Steve that the park had a rapids. I can't post his exact words here but I'm still amused by the reaction and I'll just say he wasn't thrilled. But well done to him and the rest of the guys who went ahead and did it to complete the rapids collection for the trip! I hope those of you doing Scandi have similar aspirations!
Anyway, here's some photos...
Sadly the snake did not consume me before riding Anaconda and I was forced to ride too. At least we got out alive and got back on the road to Disney!
Don't Lou and Brad look super excited to ride the best coaster of the trip?
Jeff ended up trying to choke himself by eating paper just to get out of riding Anaconda.
Why couldn't this be overrun by zombies?
Hey lets try this! Oh wait, it's been overrun by zombies and is closed.
After about twelve attempts Lou was successful and now Jon has another Duckie to show for it!
You will not win a season pass by counting these.
Whilst we whored our lives away Lou thought this was a better use of her time!
"I'm sad and pathetic and don't care!"
This is the point where Lou tried not to be sad and pathetic and laughed at us riding the kiddie coaster.
Quite rightly too it seems!
Lou's excited...
You could tell the TPR members by the bright orange dayglo stickers they were wearing. And by the fact that we'd just spent 12 days together!
Ah, a ride that won't beat you to a pulp!
This one gets the TPDave cartoonish thumbs up!
This one wasn't great but at least scores points for having an Irn-Bru colour scheme!
Okay, onto some coasters...
If I hadn't missed out on the Movie Park rapids I'd have forced myself too! I was thankful for the Zombie experience for a brief moment this day!
Eleven out of eleven rapids conquered!
Oh wait, it's closed. They're not that great anyway but still a lot of people were looking forward to trying it out. At least the Scandi people will get on one soon!
Ooh, the Topple Tower! The one ride of note in this park! Lets go ride that!
Erik got to relive his glory marching days by mounting this big brass instrument.
If you see an alligator bursting out a rock face you know you really shouldn't be spending long in this place.

Great TR JZ, good to see some familiar faces in there too!
I can't believe I actually want to go BACK to King's Island now! Diamondback really looks like a winner.
Nope, I hated it. Didn't like it one little bit. I rank it last out of the 360 coasters I've been on.
If you like it then good for you. Even better for you that there will be a lot less people in line in front of you because people think it's a rough piece of crap.
I think you do a lot of the posters on TPR a massive disservice by saying that they're not honest about their opinions on a ride just because you happen to disagree with them.
