  1. Soarin' Eagle at Scream Zone on Coney Island! Painful, but fun!
  2. And to think I was about to stop renewing my season pass...it seems the post-Shapiro era is set to be a good one for SFGAdv. A couple more solid flats next year, and then we can start talking about another coaster. This slide (especially if it ends up on the central island) is a magnificent addition to HH, far better than any dropbox would have been. I hope that never happens and we continue to see innovative additions like King Cobra going forward.
  3. I cannot wait to ride this thing. I'm really curious as to where it will fall in my Top 10 (though I'd be stunned if it doesn't end up in there). Potential #1 roller coaster if the airtime is as nuts as it looks and it rides smoothly.
  4. This is such a cool TR! Thanks for sharing. Though I'm surprised at the bold assertion of Superman as the best Morgan out there...if we're counting Phantom's Revenge, I don't think it's even close. Still, it looks worth a ride, as do the Schwarzkopfs and Montana Rusa. I may never make it to Mexico City, but at least I have some reason to think about it now. It's pretty awesome to see the kind of access TPR gets people to places they'd never normally see.
  5. Can someone explain Phoenix for me? It's an awesome ride, and I love the constant airtime, but for me it was a one-trick pony, and significantly worse in any other part of the train besides the front. I mean I could see it being mid-20s, but #5?! I've been on Coaster at Playland in Vancouver, and that was better ride, no question. I know there's a lot of Knoebel's love here...I found the park fun, but I didn't quite get that "Knoebel's vibe" that's talked about so often. Twister was fairly miserable, too. I don't intend to bash the park or anything (and the Flyers were kind of epic); I'm just curious as to why Phoenix and its park get so much love.
  6. Well, it seems I left my camera cable at home. The updates will start next week! Sorry for the delay.
  7. Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker and rare poster on TPR, and I absolutely love your site. Pretty much all of my enthusiast knowledge has come from scouring all of the incredible (and incredibly funny) trip reports you guys have posted, and I've always wanted to join you guys on your quests to credit whore yourselves out to the masses. However, at 17, I haven't been able to pony up the funds or the parental allowance to go on a TPR trip or attend an event. This summer, though, as I've graduated high school, my buddy Bill and I have finally been allowed to go out and take a trip, so we are taking a road trip through Pennsylvania this week! A little about myself: my name is Evan, and I'm going to Syracuse University in the fall. We'll be driving my crappy Nissan Sentra across the state looking for roller coasters. Our itinerary includes: Dorney Park (Sunday), Knoebel's (Monday), Kennywood (Wednesday), DelGrosso's (Thursday), Lakemont (Thursday), and Hersheypark (Weekend). I'll be posting pictures from each destination every night after we arrive at our next hotel. Hope you guys enjoy!
  8. Intimidator 305, baby! Just unseated Storm Runner this past summer. Top woodie is El Toro, coming in at #4 on the top ten (#8 Kingda Ka is in the background of this classic shot)
  9. Thanks, Robb. How many people do you expect to attend?
  10. Hey Robb, My name is Evan, and I'm a long-time lurker but new member here at TPR. I love this site and it's become my go-to for theme park pics and information. I'm 17, and my mom, sister and I are going on a road trip from our native New Jersey to Virginia for our summer vacation. We planned on visiting Kings Dominion on August 22nd. Once I heard TPR was holding their East Coast Bash at KD on the day I would be there, I thought about going. However, I wanted to ask some questions first. Is it an appropriate atmosphere for a 17 year-old and possibly his 14 year-old sister? Is this only for experienced members? What sort of day can I expect? I appreciate your time -nymgb44 (Evan)
