  1. my last ride of the night at around 10:40 PM in the front row! Still the best coaster at this park as far as I'm concerned.

So wait, was that you that drove 9hrs to ride?! If so then I was the one in the FastLane that let you go ahead of me! That front row ride was my last also! It was an awesome day!!

Yep, that was me! Small world haha. Didn't have time to explain it all, but after visiting KI when they were only open until 7 and CP when half the coasters were closed back in July, I made another trip out here from Delaware (the state, since you have to mention this in Ohio where there's a town called Delaware) solely for the purpose of getting night rides at KI and a chance at Dragster at CP.

Thank you again, so much. Not enough words to express my gratitude here. Had I known you were on here I would've invited you back to my hotel for a tasty adult beverage (since Ohio has gone stupid with their COVID restrictions for bars).

Yeah, it was an awesome day. My complete report is forthcoming.

Man it was my pleasure!! No thanks needed!!! I was happy to do it! That was out 4th ride on it but we weren't ready to go so waiting another train was no problem at all!!! Also the crew was awesome and we were talking during the fireworks.

Man CP was still trash when we went that Wednesday. Dragster broke down for 1 1/2hrs at 5:30p so we missed getting on Millie, Val, Rap, and Gate!!! It sucks because this was my brother's first time and CP showed him a bad time. I hyped it up because when I went in 2018 it was the best experience I've had. KI was still awesome as it was that trip.

Man you weren't lying about Ohio's bar scene!! We tried to find a place after CP and all shut down at 10:30!

  2. Heading to KI for two full days this week, Fri/Sat. Couldn’t be more exited coming from Northern California where everything is shuttered for the year!

Me and my brother are also here from northern California also!! We will be there Friday.

Still on the fence about FastLane but we might get it anyways. We are at CP for today then Kennywood Thursday.

Maybe we will run into ya... You'll know it's me... I have my California gear on!!

  3. Me and 2 friends are about to do a CP/KI/KW trip next week. We booked the trip back back in April with the hopes that August was far enough in advance that the virus might have died down but then everyone messed it up during the holidays!!

It's ok because we will make the best of it since this might be the last time in a while I will be able to travel for coasters! All 3 parks will be on weekdays, and from what I can tell based on other TRs, we will have the parks to ourselves!!

I get that this isn't the best activity to be attending, buuuuut.... I know I can practice all things needed to protect myself as best as possible! I don't like people near me ANYways so that wont be a problem! lol

Also I feel like I'm helping the theme parks survive by spending money there! Although tickets for CP and KI are like $20 cheaper than when I went in 2018! So, win win for everyone!

  4. I think the way to look at it is type of train wise. So I would say it was an AWESOME standup and now it's just an OK floorless.

My homepark is SFDK and Medusa is a really good floorless but thinking of it the way boldikus mentioned, that's because it IS the top-tier of that park. There are plenty other floorless coasters with similar layouts that just made the Rougarou transformation lack any attraction! The last stand-up that's over 100ft now is Riddlers at SFMM which means you gave up that stat to your competition.

I really think they should have just kept it a stand-up because becoming a floorless, in the end, didn't help its popularity.

  5. Does anyone know if the available reservation spots are for everyone or only for passholders and they will have a new set of spots for ticket holders? The latter makes more sense because I would be bummed out if they sell out of the opening time slot before ticket holders get the chance to reserve.

Im asking because I am thinking about just getting the season pass so i can grab that first spot!

Also, can I process a Season Pass at Cedar Point if I bought it for CGA?

  6. My first, and only ride on it was horrible!! It was uncomfortable and when we were in the brakes just outside of the station, the car wouldn't upright itself to advance. Luckily my legs were long enough and I was able to push off of a ledge to my left and rock the car until it was level enough! No joke, I "singlefootedly" uprighted the car myself!

Sayonara to a coaster that will NOT be missed!!

  7. Some models have 2 seatbelts, but I'm guessing the newer B&M's are just using a "longer" single seatbelt. The latter is a JOKE!!! The difference in length is seriously maybe 1/4 of an inch.

Huh. All of the B&Ms at Cedar Point have big boy seats with two seat belts. I ended up sitting in the one for Raptor and I saw them on ValRavn and Rougarou also. This was recently about 3 weeks ago. Not sure what you saw but maybe you just missed those seats somehow? I don't even I've ever seen a B&M Big Boy seat that didn't have the two buckles, actually. And the seat I was in for Raptor had a significantly longer seat belt.

Damn, maybe I was wrong... I swear I saw them just having one red belt. My bad! lol

  8. Recently, my wife and I took a trip to Cedar Point and Kings Island. CP was my dream park so this whole trip was planned by me and my wife wanted to come along to share in that "Dream come true" moment! My wife is 5'11", and is very curvy. Needless to say, while planning the trip, she had concerns about what she could fit on, which almost discouraged her from going a couple times. It probably didn't help also that I told her about the "Walk of Shame"! Since we had the trip booked and non-refundable FL+ passes she decided to go.

Now the only reason for the FL+ passes were because this was a one shot trip. Meaning, I wasn't spending multiple days at both parks. It was one day at each so I didn't want to chance it being a busy day and not getting to ride something, ESPECIALLY SteVen, which was a 45min wait in the FL+ line!!! So of course, like other people with fitment concerns, we try to fine online, other people's experiences with the rides at both parks. It was really helpful when there because my wife felt more confident when we chose which rides to get on. CP for example was easy because there is a lot of info on heavy riders and what can be ridden plus both parks had test seats at almost all their coasters, and even some flat rides!!

To help my wife out more, I told her that any of the rides she can fit on, we will ride them multiple times! The FL+ helped this plan out A LOT because I rode everything in the park (some twice in a row) in about half the day! Once that was done, my wife really loved Maverick so we rode that a few times! She knows that she married a coaster nerd and after the trip, instead of being discouraged from the number of rides she COULDN'T ride, she is more than determined to do what she needs to do so she can share more trips at more theme parks with me! This all coming from someone who ISN'T the biggest fan of the crazy coasters!

I will complain about one thing that I noticed. B&M's "Big Boy" seats. Now I'm sure everyone is familiar with the seat. Some models have 2 seatbelts, but I'm guessing the newer B&M's are just using a "longer" single seatbelt. The latter is a JOKE!!! The difference in length is seriously maybe 1/4 of an inch. Now I know that could be a difference for someone and I understand that safety is first but I just don't see it as being enough. I think I complained about this more because my wife couldn't ride ANY B&M and I really wanted her to! She had to settle for the older and rougher coasters, which eventually gave her a headache and a lot of bruises!

So when I started reading this post, I was kinda like "Well DAMN, that's rude Robb!!", but then thinking about it and seeing my wife's experience is a good example of how you can't blame theme parks for you not being able to fit! Can you imagine what rides would look like if they really catered to larger riders?!?! I agree with Robb... If you want to ride, you'll do what you need to do!!

  9. ^Pretty much...fly in Fri night, grab rental car, stay at hotel near KI then Sat all day till close (night rides on Beast). Leave the park and head to Columbus hotel about an hour and 1/2 drive, then up early for the 2 hour drive to CP. Spend most of the day there with Fast Lane (+) and I usually grab a hotel anywhere south of Sandusky and head back down to Cincy the next morning to catch an afternoon flight home. Seems to go much smoother when you break up the drive times.

We are going in the opposite order. Flying into Cleveland and staying at Hotel Breakers. Full day at CP then next day sightseeing and drive down to a hotel near KI. Full day there then leave out from Cincinnati the next day. I'm just getting the 3hr drive out the way once!

  10. Anyone have an update on SV? Flight leaves out Friday to Cincinnati for my 2 park CF trip and can't find any updates if they are on 1or 2 train ops since the new block brakes install.

    Thanks in advance.

I will be visiting the 2 parks as well in exactly a month from now! Are you doing them back to back?

I put a day in between because I know my wife can't handle one after another. I'm not sure she will even be able to handle CP!! I only added the other park just cause I don't know when I would be back.

  11. After 10 years, I plan to finally return to Cedar Point. I plan on visiting form June 26th to June 28th. I will be staying at the Express Hotel. I am already planning on getting Fast Lane Plus at least once. Just one question, I wear glasses, should I just leave them in my truck?

I will be there for the first time ever on the 27th!! I already got my Fast Lane Plus for sure since I will only be there one day.

  12. We've actually had both of these happen on our trip, and instead of people being PATIENT about whatever the issue is, they actually would come to up with endless bitching and complaining as though it's our fault. I actually said to a person once "I cannot control the weather. Seriously, if you are going to sit here and complain to me that being at a beautiful theme park (We were at Tokyo Disneyland), even in bad weather is still worse than sitting at your day-job, then you shouldn't be on our trip." I think at that point they just stopped talking, turned around and left.

I'm sorry... just plain ignorant!! I would (not literally) KILL to be at a park, drenched, than be at my day job! I drive transit for the Bay Area and have to worry about people complaining about things that are out of my control! I 100% understand you when I have to say, "I can't control the traffic!! If I'm late, then I'm LATE!"

Send us an email and we'll see how it goes!

    Bet!!

Forgot to ask, but will these be the only 2 tours for the year?

  13. Robb,

First off, I would like to say THANK YOU!! I have been a long time member (another screen name takes me back to at least 2007) and I have LONGED to go on one of the big TPR Tours! My wife knows how bad I've wanted to and she told me I should do it! Now reading this post, I see why I haven't heard anything about the tours! I hate how one can ruin it for many and in this case, a fair amount can ruin it for A LOT!! Now this isn't to say that I can't go on this tour because financially, I can, but taking the days off for me is a problem.

Robb & Elissa, you both have done an amazing job with all this and when I see TR from all the tours, I am amazed at what you can do! It's hard to even fathom how people can find something to complain about!! Sure, sometimes there is weather related issues, or maybe a transportation snafu, which ANYONE, would complain about but not much else could be!

Please see this post as, hopefully, a pre-approval application. I am the kind of enthusiast that you would love to have around! It kills me to see that there were nasty people there instead of me, and that you had to put up with them. So when the time comes, I hope I can get approved on one of your tours when I apply!

Keep doin what you do so well,

    Adrian
