Begin rant: so I know it's discovery kingdom's first night for fright fest. The only problem I have with the event is that they are selling WAY to many VIP passes. the "VIP" passes are only $5 more and it includes UNLIMITED front of the line pass for all of the mazes. What does everyone do when they see that kind of VIP upgrade for only $5? They buy it! The people selling the passes said that they will sell as many as people want, there is no cut off. So the line for VIP can technically be longer than the regular line itself. The problem is, they let in 50 VIP's and then four regular. I counted. And it is like this for every maze. Not to mention the amount of time they let pass before they let the next group go in, which is average 5 minutes. So we waited in a line that had about 15 people in it. We said, oh this will be fast. We were in line for 45 minutes. And why? Because they were letting 50 VIPs before they let even regular ticket person in. I know we should have bout ViP it seems. But so MANY people bought VIP passes that their line LOOKED longer than regular, and it would have been longer if it weren't for the 25 VIP to 2 regular ratio. It was so ridiculous that when we went to guest relations, there was someone who bought a VIP pass asking for a refund because the VIP long was too long. So if VIPs think the line is long, think about how the people who bought regular tickets felt. I understand it's their first night, but I really hope try fox it. Everyone in both VIP and regular were complaining. So I can only advise that they either sell MUCH less VIp passes, increase the upgrade to $15-$20, or fix the ridiculous ratio. PLEASE. Look to knots and universal to see how a VIP front of the line pass works. I advise people not to go until this problem is fixed. You will see a Univeral Halloween horror night line for a D rate haunted house.

I would be interested! if only it could be unlimited FOTLP all night. But either way sounds amazing. -
Best description of S:EFK in the rain. We got one of the last rides before they closed it down due to rain. The ride ran amazing. I just remember being up there weightless and everything seemed to pause. It was a really cool experience. Now I wanna try 104mph forward. Thankyou so much for putting together this awesome event. It was A LOT of fun.

Hey everybody, Me and a couple friends went to the Halloween Haunt at Great America on Friday, October 16. Here's really good advice. GO ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!!! We did not have to wait more than 5 minutes for any of the mazes. Most of them were just walk on as were with most of the rides. This is what I noticed from my experience. It is a lot less crowded and I am surprised to see how crowded it was the days some people went. Anyway onto some reviewing. This year's event was a big improvement from last year's. Toy Factory was a great addition. I will rate the mazes from best to worst. Although none of them were bad. 1. CarnEvil - You really need the 3D glasses for this one. The first time we went through it, without them, it was so-so. The next time we went through, bought them and it was a totally different experience. And c'mon it's only $1. This was the best maze this year in my opinion, but only with the 3D glasses. 2. Club Blood - This maze has my award for the most fun. At the beginning there is rockin' music and "dancers" that were AWESOME! This had one of the best story lines but was lacking in scares compared to CarnEvil. 3. CornStalkers - This was easily the scariest maze that night. The actors blended in so well and it was pretty cool walking through a cornfield at night. P.S. Beware of the outhouses! =P 4. Slaughterhouse - Another great maze with a great story line for a Great America haunt. Lot's of scares in this house. A lot of fun and I really did like the store at the end of it. 5. Toy Factory - This haunt was a lot of fun. It was a great new addition and had A LOT of scares in here. You have no idea which toys are real and which are just props. The song made me crazy but it was so catchy. There is one "tight space" in particular that got me a little uncomfortable. It was like someone was crapping me out. LoL. Lot's of fun. 6. Werewolf Canyon - This house was not bad, it was just that it was lacking a lot of scares. It had a good story line and everything just not many actors. This was the most disorienting for me as I got lost in the part where you are walking through the black drapes hanging down. But this was the only maze where I saw a scare actor with a chainsaw. Scarezones: All the scarezones were a lot of fun. It was so funny to see all the people getting scared. The one by the demon was the best as they put A Lot and I mean A LOT of fog into use. All of them did and it was very hard to see through it, providing a bit of scares. All in all, this year's event was a lot of fun. I would recommend it to everyone that lives nearby as a fun way to fulfill your scare needs. The mazes were very good compared to the ones at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, which I gotta say were pretty crappy. And only one scarezone over there. If you want to get your money's worth definitely come here. Its the best halloween event in the Bay Area. -Nigel
