  1. The scaffolding has nothing to do with the lift delay.
  2. Thanks for the warm welcome to TPR. I'm glad to see my info is being mocked. I'll remember to keep my mouth shut next time. Maybe I was being vague for a reason... And after swinging by today I can say the main crane is gone and as others reported the lift track and drop pieces are still sitting in the field down the road from the park. Don't know where the shortening of the lift came from. That won't happen but word is they are reworking the mechanics of the lift.
  3. May I ask what "street" you're getting your "word" from? They've been installing track in the station, so yes, there has been progress in the past week. Installing in the station isn't what I was talking about (I'm well aware of the station and transfer track work). I said the lift. Like I said it is just a rumor around town about the lift not something that has been 100% confirmed but if you put a few things together it does appear to have something behind it. You don't bring in a huge crane and install half of a drop then stop and move the crane. I could be totally wrong but I've just heard talk and haven't seen any progress on the lift... I'll be back at the park today and try to get an update on things.
  4. It appears Rockit construction has it a snag. No real progress has been made in almost a week now and the main crane is no longer near the tower (if it is, it is lowered or parked out of sight). Word on the street around Orlando is that something might be changed in regards to the way the lift works or such and that will set them back a few weeks. It may just be a rumor but easy to believe with the rate the thing has been going up that no big progress (in terms of track and such) has been made in almost a week. I hate to bring the bad news so I'll end the post on a happy note - some pics.
  5. I didn't get a chance to drive by today (drove by Sea World and saw Manta cycling though). Here are some photos from yesterday. I'm hoping to take my SLR camera out there in the next few days and get some quality pictures instead of my usual iPhone photos. So stay tuned!
  6. Update... the first drop is about 75% complete. I would suspect they will be topping it off later today or first thing tomorrow.
  7. I know someone who entered and never heard that they one but they did get a survey via email about Universal. We could never quite figure out how he didn't win (when it seemed everyone else who entered around the same time won). Then today he got an email with the free ticket. Go figure.
  8. Great photos! I got to ask... what kind of camera did you use?
  9. First post (long time reader)... Was driving past Universal today. I saw Rockit and decided to swing in a grab a few photos. These were taken around 2pm so I assume they finished the non-inverting loop today or will tomorrow (since by the time I got back to the parking deck they already had another piece up). I've seen some crazy things done with roller coasters before but this non-inverting loop might take the cake. Sorry for the photo quality I only had my iPhone. I hope to head out later in the week with my camera and get some better shots.
