  1. Thank you all so much for putting together West Coast Bash again! That trip was TERRIFIC. Thanks to the Platinum Flash Pass at Magic Mountain, we rode everything at least twice. We were in STITCHES going up the Terminator Salvation lift hill during ERT. All of my group was wondering if the remixed soundtrack would be available anywhere else for our listening pleasure. I figure if I already have the queue music for two Magic Mountain rides (Riddler's Revenge and Goliath) on my ipod, why not some ride audio too? Then at Knott's... I lost count of how many times I rode Supreme Scream. I found out just how much more fun Silver Bullet is in the back after riding in the front all this time. And I got a dizzying lesson in proper weight distribution on Sierra Sidewinder. Oh, and that bacon chocolate funnel cake was darn good.
  2. *gasps, clutches the pearls* Magic Mountain and Knott's? Count me in! I've always considered Knott's my home park despite it being over 300 miles away. Last year was some of the most fun I've had at a theme park. And as a bonus for me, it's close enough to my birthday that I'll count it as festivities. Might even do like I did last year and hit Disneyland for a couple days (oooo world of color). And while I'm over there I really should hit Tiki-Ti... and... and... and... I'm mildly curious, would any Arizonans care to caravan over there?
  3. Schnepf has a coaster out there? I had no idea. Gotta head out there post-haste, it's a good place. It isn't 110° in May around here! Those temperatures wait until at LEAST early June! Oh, while in Tucson, an absolute must for food is Cafe Poca Cosa. Best Mexican in the state, hands-down. Get the Plato Poca Cosa; you'll find out what you're eating when it hits the table. I get it every time I go, and I'm always thrilled. They're in the middle of summer vacations, so one or the other of their two locations (about three minutes walking from each other) will be open. Either way, stellar stuff. If you need to beat the heat, go up Mount Lemmon and do their ski lift skyride. You'll ascend nearly 6,000 feet in 45 minutes of driving, then another 900 feet on the lift. Once you're down off the lift, go around to Summerhaven and stop in Cookie Cabin for one of their cookies. They're nearly as big as your head.
