  1. Looks great from here. Running tapatalk on a first version iPad.
  2. We just registered for Worlds Of Fun. First time for us , and we are looking forward to having an absolute blast raising money for a VERY worthy cause https://www.firstgiving.com:443/fundraiser/CoasterFreaks/WorldsofFun2013
  3. Count me in for a one day "join-in" at SDC if it happens. We had a great time at Texas Giant Bash last year, and we only live a couple of hours away from Branson. I sure wish we could join up on the entire trip, but the cash and vacation time are not going to oblige.
  4. Oh heck yeah! What a GREAT addition to this already one-of-a-kind park! And right in my back yard to boot! We have been on again off again pass-holders for SDC, but I know what is going into the Christmas stockings THIS year! And count me in on the TPR trip. My first and only one was the Texas Giant Bash last year, so looking forward to doubling my count at SDC! Yeah I know it's not officially planned yet, but if it happens count me in. And thanks Chad for posting all the great pics. Hope to meet up with you again this summer sometime.
  5. YAY!!!! Astroworld was my home park growing up, and Greezed Lightning was SUCH a blast! And can I hear an amen on the "lenient brakes" request? One of my biggest disappointments when riding the shuttle out at SFOG was the fact the brakes on the way back through the station slowed the train down so much I don't think the front car ever got off the horizontal. GL was allowed to travel WAY up that rear spike. What a ride! Of course, now I just have to find a way to get to Albuquerque (no wrong left turns)
  6. Hey everyone! I am going to be making a trip to NYC for a business trip in September, but the official trip will only be from Monday Through Friday. I would LOVE to add a night or two on the front or end of the trip to go ride Cyclone and possibly even Kingda Ka. DISCLAIMER:I am NOT a Northeaster and have not been in that area of the country in over 20 years ago. Naive questions ahead So those of you that know, am I crazy for trying to take an early morning flight on Sunday, then make it to Cyclone AND Kingda Ka (plus a small count of others), or am I just better off planning to be there all weekend? Also, what is the best hotel to stay at (subjective I know) out near Six Flags? I would prefer to stay in a hotel other than the one the business is putting us up in the city. Lastly, how easy is it to get taxis to take such a trip or is it just best to plan to rent a car? Thank you everybody in advance!!!
  7. All I can is "WOW!" Having only been to Coaster Mayhem before to compare to, this event totally blew me away. The ERT on NTAG was incredible, including 10 times in an hour, 4 times without getting off the train, and the final train of the night! To make it better, I even won my very first TPR Bag-o-Crap! YAY!!! Thank you SFOT, Steve Martindale, and of course our TPR host and hostess for such an AWESOME party! This was my first TPR event, and it did NOT disappoint.
  8. Wow...first the "Astroworld TR" showing off the grassy field being used for Rodeo parking, and now shots of the famed Greezed Lightning sitting in a field in neglect. This was such an awesome ride, I rode it for the first time the same day I rode Texas Cyclone for the first time. And it was my first looping coaster. It was only after riding the similar coaster at SFOG did i realize how much better a ride it truly was. Add me to the list that will be among the first in line WHEN (optimism) it gets rebuilt
  9. I was SO stoked about getting to this one, and just today I found out I may get to go! Looking at flights now, but a 5-6 hour drive would not be bad from NW Arkansas either. Looking forward to more info!!!
  10. Yeah...same thing happened here. I had all of 20 minutes left and everyone started marching into the tent one after another. Looks on the cam like the claw is dead.
  11. I grew up in Houston and when we got X-LR8 it was a pretty big deal. It was a very fun ride especially at night, but it did seem to not age very well. Still, it was a "thrilling" ride for some that were not into the bigger or looping rides in the park. That being said, I have also ridden Iron Dragon and Top Gun and believe both of them beat it, with Top Gun taking first place. The thing that intrigued me from what i read/saw about BBW was the close flybys and the drop along the water. Certainly not enough to keep me from visiting the park in the future (Nessie being another ride there i would love to ride for the historical aspect), but sure it would have been fun to get to ride it just once.
  12. This just looks all kinds of beautiful awesome! Truly one of a kind element that does give the impression to me of a cheetah running up a tree and around the branches. I have no idea as to whether they can or do in real life Just sayin'
  13. My son and I had a GREAT time at CC a couple years ago on the last night it was open that season to the public. Ozark Wildcat is a BLAST and my son loved it so much he rode it 20 (yes 20) times before they had to pry him off it with a crowbar. I especially enjoyed the last set of elements (magic carpet?) down through the bottom of the structure with no lights at night. I really liked the park's atmosphere and thought the free go-kart track inside the park was a great idea. Too bad we only got to enjoy it once before it closed
  14. YES YES YES YES! I Cannot WAIT to get back to SFOT this spring! As has been said in other posts, I was apprehensive about this at first, but seeing that 90 degree "hilltop" is INSANE!!!
  15. Thanks Shane! I have recently started trying to build up my Astroworld collection for one wall in my garage. I was just doing some Astroworld research the other night after hearing about the new carousel Worlds of Fun is getting. And I wholeheartedly agree about Greezed Lightning! Always a thrill, and MUCH better than its brother I rode out at SFOG. Nothing better than the in-station launch and the "hangtime" you got in the front seat coming backwards through the loop
