  1. I know that Fright Fest at six flags is one of the busiest times of the year. How long are the lines typically on a Sunday? My whole family wants to go and I suggested a Friday instead because I have not had a problem with lines at all on Friday nights during FF. I heard that Sundays can get more crowded during FF then regular season. What are the crowds going to be like and how long will lines be for Nitro, S:UF, Medusa, GASM and the other rides? I probably won't be going on KK if the lines are too bad. So if anyone could give me a general idea I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
  2. I am a first time season pass holder for SFGAdv and got an email last week from Six Flags for the season pass holder night. Its strictly for season pass holders and you get a bring a friend for $15. I was planning on taking my little brother since I figured the park wouldn't be packed. The event is on a Friday from 5-10pm and I plan to get there a little bit earlier than that. What do you guys think the lines will be like?
  3. Also, after my mom dropped us off around 430 94.5 PST was saying there was still room available for the concert. Not sure if Six Flags was paying them to say that so they could get more admissions or if Six Flags just wasn't telling the truth. 94.5 PST sponsored the concert so maybe they figured that more people could fit but Six Flags didn't want to push it. Either that or lack of communication made for a horrible night. Redfoot, how did the line look for S:UF? I didn't even wanna know when I was there.
  4. Yeah that stampede was absolutely ridiculous. I have been to GAdv on a Thursday before but I'm not sure if they had a concert or not since the concert series isn't every Thursday I believe. Everything was walk on including KK. The line however for the rapids and log flume was quite long as they are the only two water rides included with admission and it was around 95 degrees. Since the park was so empty that day we decided to go on a Tuesday. When we went the park was nuts. Wasn't as bad as this past Thursday but from what I heard it should have been nearly empty. I guess you just have to pick your days.
  5. I went to SFGAdv this past Thursday because my girlfriend was nagging at me about the concert. I figured O.K...although I had no interest in seeing it. I thought the park would have the usual amount of people, maybe just a little more since the concert was going on. I ended up not getting to the park until 4:30 since I had to wait to get a ride there as I do not drive and we get to the park. We usually take the shuttle bus but that had a huge group already waiting so we decided to walk. Signs were all over the parking lot and entrance saying that the park would be busy today due to the "popular artists" but I thought nothing of it because they have those signs for FF as well but it never seems crowded when I go then. Waiting in line at Guest Relations we hear that you had to be in line around 2-3 to get into the Norther Star Arena to see the show. Since almost nobody knew this, everyone who showed up at 430ish...which is when the parking lots reached full capacity could not get to the concert which is strictly why they went. Since no one got into the concert lines were ridiculous. We waited about 1 and a half hours for El Toro and didn't even bother to see how long the lines for KK and S:UF were. GASM wasn't bad and was about a 5 min wait. We also rode Rolling Thunder which had a longer line on the right side than the left which I thought was strange. (I guess people don't know that the left is much smoother.) We went on the log flume later on that day to cool off a little and then saw the last few songs from the concert as people starting leaving and seats started freeing up. We left that a few minutes early to beat the rush and went over to Nitro which to my surprise was not running. So we ran to B: TR and were at the 60min point. Lines were moving very fast for that as we only ended up waiting 20 mins. Once we got off that we went to Skull Mountain and got front row walk-on which was nice since I'm more of a back person. Skull mountain was pretty neat front view though. The main point of this story is I learned a very important thing, - Never go during a big concert. - I won't be visiting Six Flags again when an event like this is happening. Was anybody else there? And did you see that stampede as soon as the concert let out? They filled every midway.
  6. Well I just got back from SFGAd today and didn't buy the flash pass, as I only had 60 on me and it would have cost 50 for my girlfriend and I. Almost every ride was a 5 min wait in the station. The only long lines were TDK (duh) B:TR, and S:UF. El Toro was probably 20 mins long as was S: UF. TDK and B:TR were both about 30 mins. Kingda Ka was running all four trains today without any problems what so ever. I ended up riding that twice. Medusa Had either two or three trains going. (i can't remember) and Nitro had all three trains running. Overall the park was really nice and all the lines moved quickly as the ride ops worked their hardest. I can't stand the new locker rule though as I would have to chug my water or pay a dollar....I'd rather chug it. As I was leaving GASM I noticed the queue lines for the space shuttle were there. Wasn't sure what that was about. Anyway, the park really did great today as the lines stayed short the entire day and nothing was broken down. Even Rolling Thunder had all 4 trains running although they were not always running. Nitro encountered a ten min. problem with the restraints not locking in but after that is was all good. Thank you for a great day Six Flags
  7. I've ridden El Toro 6 times in only a few hours I was at the park...just imagine if I was there all day....
  8. I never had problems with the height of roller coaster but like barry h said, the Eiffel Tower at the paramount parks are pretty scary, I can't even stand near the edge. Drop tower is the only ride I have a problem with I guess because it stays at the top for a few seconds and theres nothing beneath you at all. After your strapped in though its all good and the fear just turns into adrenaline.
  9. I'm going to SFGA thursday and I'm hoping to get there when the gates open. I'm not interested in getting a Flash Pass so I was curious to know how long the lines will be for S:UF, El Toro, KK and so forth... I haven't been to the park at all during the summer before. (I wait till a friday night during fright fest since it is empty) The last time I went I was only there for a few hours since it was friday night fright fest and was drizzling all night. The longest I waited for a ride was 5 mins. I know the lines won't be that short but what is an estimated time for the wait and what should I hit first?
