  1. Everything looks great.... except for the Dueling Dragons queue. They should not have TOUCHED it at all!

DD queue aside, this place looks pretty interesting. I'm sure fans of the books and movies will be pleasantly surprised. All the merchandise looks cool, although the prices are straight up the wall. I also agree that it's cool how Universal put a lot of work into the details of things, even if some major ones were not taken into consideration, such as queue theming.

  2. This is a solid attempt to clean that up and attract people to come back to Coney Island.

And I think they've done a good job with it. Sure, I haven't been able to see the trash on the ground yet or how everything is kept up, but I already think this place looks better, and the new rides look a lot better than 99% of the ones that were at Astroland. That 1% is probably that turntable Wacky Worm, which, in all honesty, looked very interesting.

  3. I'm getting unbearably bored with Wild Waves, because it's only recieved 2 new rides since I've first been there. Not exactly great rides either. Plus, it lacks in anything above what I'd consider medium thrill level. Along with that, because of its proximity to SeaTac Airport and Boeing Field, no structure in the park is allowed above 125ft. There are a lot of rides on the market that are less than 125ft (including the Zamperla Turbo Force, which is 123) and are very fun, and WW needs to take advantage of them!

  4. ^The drive from SeaTac to Federal Way (on a good day before/after rush hour) is about 20-30 mins. A Sunday in July is probably the best time to cool down at the waterpark, but the worst time to wait in lines in the whole park. FYI, hours through most of July are 10AM-7PM Sun-Thu, 10AM-8PM Fri & Sat.

One other recommendation: Visit Rocky & Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center in Tukwila, less than 10 mins from SeaTac. It's got a really good arcade, an indoor Frog Hopper, I think a kiddie credit (since you're a CW ), a Screamin' Swing, a bungee trampoline, etc., etc., etc. A really nice FEC that's just 'moderately' expensive. Definitely worth checking out. Here's a Photo TR I took of it a little earlier. Photo TR: Rocky & Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center

  5. ^I cannot be exactly sure if all 4 (really only 3, unless you're a credit whore ) will be operating. WW isn't always so great with posting notifications on rides closures on their site. I can probably visit the park in July and tell you if any rides are closed/open. And yes, this park is easily done in 4 hours, especially in light crowds. One thing, though: if you want to do the waterpark, it will take quite a bit more time because the lines for most waterpark attractions are pretty horrendous during the summer.

  6. I sort of agree and disagree with this. Allow me to explain.

As you have pointed out, coasters with inversions are, in general, a much different experience than coasters with no inversions. To a point, I could almost support a Top 10 List exclusively for loopers.

But wouldn't it make things more complicated? 'Wood' and 'Steel' are their own seperate categories. By splitting 'Steel' into 2 categories, it makes things a little harder to keep up with. Eventually, those categories would begin to split themselves up into more and more, and it would just be too confusing.

Besides, looping and non-looping is down to personal preference. Do you prefer seeing the world upside down or right-side up? Looping coasters have dominated for a while because their renown force and their different style over non-looping coasters have earned them preference. But, because companies are making much more extreme non-looping coasters, looping coasters are going to have to become competative to stay popular in the market.

But, as a lot of polls suggest, some people are beginning to shift towards more forceful, non-inverting coasters. And that's just because they're getting more interesting.

So sure, non-looping coasters are way different than looping coasters, but shifting personal preference shouldn't make loopers different enough to deserve thier own Top 10 List.
