I'm going to the WCB again and already have the KBF Hotel for Sunday but was ondering what folks recommend for a SFMM Hotel. I've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn before but was wondering what others recommend for a clean, decent, affordable place.

I agree fully. WCB had light rain right before morning ERT, then we even had hail during lunch. But during all ride times it was clear and devoid of the public who kept away.

With all the talk about height restrictions and family rides, I think Revolution is fairly tame these days. The problem, IMO, is those head restraints. They bash your ears to the point of aching throughout the entire ride. SFMM mgt says this is due to the inversion, but no other ride such as Viper has anything as uncomfortable and pain inducing as those on Revolution.

I noticed that too at WCB. Something abot his face was greasy, sweaty and 'unreal' like som sort of putty. He also had a large bulge at the back of his neck as well as something odd going on with his eyes and glasses. Certainly not the same guy/costume featured in the ads. There is something very disturbing and creely about him these days.

I found the employees at SFMM to be great! Myself, attending by myself, and about four other guys rode Superman three times back to back to back. We only got out to switch seats around. After the third time through the ride completely overshot the station and we were finally braked about 20 feet short of smashing into the rear wall. The main operator was calm , cool, and humorous as they called maintenance to tow us back to the station. Since this was at closing time we were given 'carte blanche' to get on another ride to help out with the delay. By then we had all become friends and all of us went on Viper to close out the night. Hats off to Jay and his employees.

SFMM! And rumour is they are adding a woodie for mid to late 2009. Have only heard it as a rumour and was just there last month and see no building so don't quote me.

I was in Johnny Rockets mid afternoon last Sunday and there was no wait. I guess it's just when you go.

As a sidenote, I was curious what the final resolution was to the death on Colossus. I believe an obese woman was thrown off because her lap bar did not fully close. I know of the employee who was crushed on Revolution, the Eagle's Flight gondola that fell, and the man who died after riding Goliath, but never have heard what the final ruling was on the Colossus tragedy.

Also, as an update to the GoldRusher signage item I posted, a couple weeks ago I was talking to Jay and Tim from SFMM and they said the entire idea for the museum in the Skytower came from an employee who simply had a 'wild' idea for it. They let him run with it and were amazed by what he accomplished. I haven't been to SFMM in about 22 years since I was just there on June 1st and actually have some items I could add. I haven't heard officially about sending items, but the whole 'top team' there was very appreciative. I think this is a park that's going to be great, again! Not that it ever wasn't.

As a novice to theme park culture, I was just wondering why Colossus' trains use the old Psyclone trains when they run it backwards.

^ Jay and Tim give a lot of credit to that guy who repainted the GoldRusher sign. He is just a regular signpainter for the park who did it all on his own. Great to see one of the original rides, and first coaster, getting respect. I never miss it.

^ Don't know what they're planning but new trains would be nice. I do know they're planning something for Colossus' 30th anniversary. According to Jay, look for something exciting later this year.
