  1. Last years event was epic, we hit about 35 rides that day with about 11 on Tatsu and 13 in a row on Superman. Everything else tons of times too like Goliath, Viper, Revolution, Batman, Riddler, Scream, Colossus, Ninja and Gold Rusher. It was a great day for a coaster enthusiast. I can't wait for this year's event.
  2. One of the most exciting things Jay said all day was the policy that every ride will run until closing unless it is in refurbishment or malfunction. To me this is one of the best concepts an amusement park can practice and I commend Jay and the entire staff for setting the standard and setting out to do it. I keep thinking about how truly magical this WCB day was. I've been going to MM since the late 70s as a local and I'll never enter the park again without lamenting about 08 WCB! We are all very fortunate.
  3. I agree that the bathrooms should and can be staffed / maintained better but you can say that about any park you visit. Granted, the bathrooms are bad at MM in many areas but in my opinion Disneyland bathrooms are horrible too, even if it is not as bad as MM. I think once they eliminate the small restrooms and focus on having maybe half of the current 19 bathrooms and only large, updated facilities with an empowered staff it can become reasonable. The men's bathroom near the theater was bad and it was not very busy Sunday. The small restrooms need to go and more staff need to service them more often, especially on busy summer days. Amusement park bathrooms are just bad but a necessary evil, I think Jay gets the importance to the overall product perception and will make efforts to improve it.
  4. Maybe the credit card charge of $14 is just an estimate, as some restaurants do and in a few days it will return back to the original intended price. Ask your bank, it might work out.
  5. I was inspired by the day and the bright future Magic Mountain now has! The morning ERT and nighttime ERT sessions were surreal; even throughout the day the crowds were never bad and it was a park enthusiasts dream day! I was running a few minutes late and called Robb about 8:15 and sadly asked, "Is it too late? Can I still make it? I'm only 15 minutes away?" He was like, "Of course, see you in a few" and from there it was without doubt one of the best days I've ever had riding coasters! I strolled in and hit Revolution once, Viper twice and Tatsu twice before grabbing some breakfast. During the day in between the nice tours we got on Riddler's, Goldrusher, Scream, Batman three times and Colossus. We also had a 30 minute talk at lunch with Jay as he sat next to us and we basically covered about 90% of the things he talked about at MMT. It was fun to get to pick his brain and be a part of the MM community, from the top on down. Night ERT was truly as good as it gets fellas, period. We hit Batman several times consecutively then went up to Superman and rode it eight times in a row without getting off... a dream! We went up to the Skytower and spent about 45 minutes up there looking at everyhting. The old super 8 footage of the early construction was a special treat! To finish it off we hit Tatsu 7 times without getting off and then we walked back up to Goliath, entered the station two or three minutes after 10:30 and were allowed to get on the train. To top it off we came back into the station probably seven or eight minutes after ERT ended and when we stopped the RO said, "You guys want to go one more time?" We got to do the ERT of the ERT! Thank you everyone for an unforgettable day! Funny, I said to my friends during the presentation that it sounded to me from what I've heard over the course of the day that the 2009 coaster will be a variation or version of the "El Loco". I would probably even bet a few coins on it. I'm going to go buy a season pass just on straight principal, just to show my support for the present and future of Magic Mountain. I encourage everyone to do the same!
  6. From Simi Valley to Valencia I would give it 35 minutes. There should not be any signifigant traffic on the 118 or 5 that morning.
  7. If your question is if KBF will be busy on a Saturday the answer is yes. Don't let it bother you though, there are not so many attractions there that even on a busy day you can't do everything you please.
  8. I registered! I'm excited for this. Riding coasters is always even more fun with other people who love them too. I'm actually really excited for the guided tours with the lecture on the past and futureof the park. That should be great. Who is going at 12:00 and who is going at 1:00? I'm a 1:00 person. I want to introduce myself, where should I do that? thanks
  9. Hey everyone. I came across this event and it sounds great. I am a Valencia local who has grown up with MM and it is really difficult to find historical information on the park, beyond what you find online. Should I register or just show up with my papers that morning? I'm going to try and get involved here so maybe I'll get to know a few people before the event. I'll probably be solo as my girl doesn't like MM, too intense for her, shes a DL type.
