Hoe zeg je "steampunk" in het Nederlands? How do you say "steampunk" in Dutch? I think it's just "steampunk", and I've answered my own question. -

I'm not a huge HP fan, but I did read all of the books and I saw all of the films. I liked butterbeer, but I prefer that stuff at Gaston's. I do love the HP and the Forbidden Journey ride, and I can't wait for Gringott's. We're heading to Universal on Friday to see Hogwart's Express and Diagon Alley. So yay. -

^^^ Yeah, Chuck, occasionally Cedar Fair sells some really nice shirts. I just sent another order to Zazzle. Let's see if they reject it again. -

We actually went to the San Francisco Bay Area three times this year, and we managed to hit some parks on each trip. This was from the second trip! -

I scanned the cover from the 1974 Inaugural Season Program to get this image, then sent it to Zazzle. The color really popped when the shirt was new. Now Zazzle tells me I'm violating a copyright when I try to re-order, even for just one shirt. Anyway, it's my favorite shirt ever. -

This is Adventureland Long Island, not to be confused with Adventureland in Des Moines. This Is sorta my new home park as it's easy to walk to from my office. It's not a big park, but it's definitely a fun park. If you haven't been, get psyched for their new Mack spinner opening next year. -
What is the Best Eurofighter?
milst1 replied to RCBoilermaker14's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Anubis: The Ride at Plopsaland De Panne? Good question. I guest it's technically not a Euro-fighter without the vertical lift hill? I don't know. Good ride, though. I guess Lynet at Fårup falls into the sort of category as it's also a launch out of the station. -
Electric Car Theme Park charging stations
milst1 replied to kayoss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Efteling has it. The image below is from an older website version. The text now reads: Efteling has four charging points for electric vehicles, which can be used at no cost. The charging points are located at the front of the visitors’ car park. The charging points can be used on the basis of first come, first served principle. They can unfortunately not be reserved. Charging point usage You need a special chip card to make use of the charging points. You may collect one of these from the office between the cashier’s kiosks on the day of your visit. So apparently they used to take reservations, and now they don't, and they've added two more stations. It does differ a little bit from the Dutch text, which says you can use your own chip card to activate the station. I don't know if they are referring to the national transit chip card, or something else. -
What is the Best Eurofighter?
milst1 replied to RCBoilermaker14's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Indeed. You're still missing two, right? Eurofighter at Zoosafari Fasanolandia and Abyss in Australia? I've ridden the one in Italy and all but one (Oakwood) on your current ballot. I'm not a fan of the layout so I prefer those that are the most heavily themed, namely Mystery Mine, Fluch von Novgorod, and Saw. Takabisha was probably the most thrilling and I did like the station theming for Untamed. -

I knew that the ownership had changed but I don't think that management, per se, has changed. The same people are running the park as before, right? They just answer to different owners now instead of 100 scattered family members. Jerome Gibas been with Kennywood Entertainment for much of his career and comes from West Mifflin. I think there are still at least two Henningers on the management team, along with a slew of other long-time Kennywood employees who've been there 20+ years. Everyone newer is local and probably started as interns. The only big "management" change that I can think of is that Pete McAneny is no longer the President of KE. From what you're saying, it's clear that the new ownership is having an impact, but I think it's actually the same people running the place as before. Correct me if I've got this wrong. I agree that Garfield is a nightmare and I'm no big fan of Johnny Rocket's. But we should count ourselves lucky to have any Noah's Ark at all. It's the last one in the world (The two that survived in England are gone now, I believe) and KW should be thanked for not tearing it down altogether. They've sunk a lot of money into that ride over the years (I think Bath-o-sphere and Storm at Sea and all of that re-theming happened after the 90's), and the new owners are probably very strategic with new capital spending. The decay of Noah's Ark probably has little impact on attendance, and spending to fix it probably also won't have any impact on attendance.
