  1. Part of the lift is indeed missing, and a new piece was said to have been spotted in the construction area with new safety features. Rumor is that they may have been waiting for this new piece of track for a while and they went ahead and installed another piece they had without those extra safety features so they could test it. That rumor, however, doesn't make sense. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: An insider over at IOACentral had some info: It does not have the anti roll backs installed yet which is why the lift track is coming down. And the sound you are refering to at the top of the hill is the trains chain dogs releasing from the chain and you hear nothing as it goes up. Also, the reason they are pulling the lift track down to put the anti roll back pieces on is because originaly the lift was going to have a dual chain system instead of a gator back anti rollback system but for some reason they changed their mind, now the pieces for the second chain have to be removed in order to install the gator backs. In your post you first said you can't add roll-back stops on this verticle lift hill, and then later in your post you said it has roll back stops. All someone has to do is walk by central shops and they will see the pieces of track that have been removed so far and since it is not a restricted area you can see the anti rollback pieces sitting close by. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He also posted some pictures: http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2439/img00101p.jpg http://yfrog.com/5jimg00061jj The original, full size pictures can be found here: http://boards.ioacentral.com/index.php?showtopic=11441&st=3220&start=3220
  2. I believe the contract states that the island must be open and fully functioning by June or July 2010.
  3. I have a lot of friends who hate Harry Potter, a lot of friends that love Harry Potter, a lot of friends that love Twilight, and a lot of friends that hate Twilight. I get along with them just fine, though. Personally, I love the Harry Potter series and hate Twilight. It's just because I believe that Twilight is poorly written and the characters have no depth...the complete opposite of Harry Potter. Twilight does have a good story behind it, though. Anyway... The Harry Potter lovers and haters will just have to get along through this. This addition will be awesome. And maybe some of the haters will turn into fans. I remember I used to hate the Jurassic Park book and movies until I rode River Adventure. I don't think any Harry Potter fans will be disappointed, though. I'm certainly not disappointed so far...the facades are some of the most incredible facades for any theme park!
  4. Enjoy the new Nassal worksite pictures over here: http://www.vinylnation.net/forums/showthread.php?p=731&posted=1#post731
  5. Yeah, there's still a lot of room for JP or Toon Lagoon to expand. It would just make behind-the-scenes operations less convenient and some stuff would have to be moved off site. Still, there's more possibilities than you might think.
  6. Question: Are they still using the employee parking or whatnot for the space? Nobody seems to talk about it anymore, and I've been out of the loop so...
  7. The first time I went to Wild Adventures was...well...a long, long time ago. Since I live in Waycross, Georgia, Wild Adventures is the closest park and people around here want a lot of thrills without having to drive to Six Flags or to the Orlando parks. Back when I first went, they didn't even have pathways. The park was very bare and consisted of the train ride, the Ant Farm Express, Boomerang, a fireworks show, and hundreds of flat rides. Every time I've went back, they've added something new. The park is still growing and the park gets great attendance numbers. There's a lot of advertising, ticket giveaways, etc... Plus their coaster line-up is pretty decent. Some people go every weekend. It's like South Georgia's Knott's Berry Farm. There's plenty of room for expansion (Like they need it...) and a lot of room for improvement (They've got better about their theming since I first went). I think that we will eventually see some great things out of the park as it continues to grow. Remember, the park all started out as a petting zoo.
