I don't know the names of the attractions that you mention. The ferris wheel lookalike looks great by the way Are these attractions allowed in America or not due to safety regulations? Maybe their former attractions waren't that popular or too expensive to manufactor, i can't think of another reason why they would stop making them. Loopster is also my favourite but have never seen one in real life. Must be so much fun to see all these people just making loops. And if you're the operator i guess u have the most fun

Good day theme park enthusiasts. As you are all fanatics and visitors off this website, you’ve probably seen the pictures and videos off some strange you-can-operate-them-yourself-rides, mostly found in small German parks. If not attractions named Butterfly, Nautic Jet, Luna Loop, probably do ring a bell. All these attractions are manufactured by Heege Freizeittechnick. During one of my many visits to German parks I wondered how much of an investment such an attraction would be for a really small theme park. In example FreizeitPark Bell. During my visit with a friend, we were the only 2 people in the park. We arrived 1 hour after opening time and there were just some operators/staff/cleaning crew. Probably 2-3 persons have to do everything. These really small parks are more like playgrounds but with attractions like Butterfly, Nautic Jet, you just might think you are actually in a theme park. These attractions look cheap (and I say this with most of respect, I honestly do) but they are lot’s off fun, don’t need an operator and has a great endurance I guess. Would it be worth the investment, it’s the managers decision I guess. Here are the official prices (given to me by Heege in euro’s but I’ll put them in dollars by today’s exchange rate). When I’ve seen these prices for the first time I must admit I wouldn’t have guessed these kind of attractions were that expensive. I’m not a technician or engineer so I don’t know if these prices are reasonable or not. I also would have placed the Nautic Jet higher then the butterfly but once again, I’m not an expert. But thinking this over, attractions like Butterfly and Nautic Jet may be a big cost for smaller parks but they are lots of fun and can stand there for ages. U don’t have the cost of an operator and in case of Butterfly you are able to place the cheapest ‘coaster’ in the world in your backyard instead of buying that expensive car. After all, who wouldn’t want to have his own personal coaster credit

Thanks, that was the time i had in mind. And what about near the end of September, begin October? I heard on a Dutch forum that the parks are open then and waiting times are very decent.

Hey everyone. This summer i'm planning my first trip to the States and i could use some helpful tips. I want to visit a few parks, but not many because there's already so much to see there. I would start the trip in NY, stay a couple of days then head on to Niagara Falls from both sides and then move up to Canada's Wonderland. Maybe stay a couple of days in Toronto and then move back to NY. When is possibly the best time to visit the states near Summer? As i want to see as much as possible i was hoping on some parks which are open during school. I'm afraid that the holiday would spoil it a bit due to the crowd. Any sightseeings or must see are also welcome, thx.

Thanks for the replies allready sent. I was looking for both actually but in souvenir shops i couldn't find a shirt with what i was looking for. Only t-shirts with publicity of the park itself but nothing referring to one of the major attractions. I won't kill you atem122 because the site seems fine . If i order anything and the goods are delivered as it should be, i will let it know.

On several trips and in some tpr trip reports I saw some theme park enthusiast wearing t-shirt or caps off their favourite attractions and/or parks. I wanted to buy some shirts in some parks i loved like Blackpool and Drayton Manor but couldn't find one of my favourite attraction Pepsi max big one, the wooden classics or shockwave. Could anyone here tell me where i can find some shirt with the logo/pictures off attractions on it. There are vekoma-shirts and caps so i guess there should be an intamin one too .

Thanks for the answer. I have my driver licence so the ability for rental car and that might seem a good sollution to visit a park, cheaper then taxi anyway. Darien lake seems like fun but that's too far away i guess :s. Why does the big city doesn't have a big theme park

Citytrips to New York are relatively cheap these days so I'm planning a trip to the big apple in September or October. Normally i'll stay in a hotel nearby Murray Hill. Off course i want to see as much as possible in 4-5 days. I don't really know a great park near the city of New York so any help and tips are welcome. I would visit 2 themeparks if possible and not to far away from the hotel. Off course other must see's or do's are also welcome .

Thanks Groteslurf. Info about the b&b would be great because I searched on the internet for some single rooms but most of them our about € 280 for 3-4 nights. I thought of renting a car but driving at the left side of the road kinda scares me . The car probably won't make it through the first crossroad or roundabout. Does Antwerp fly on Manchester? I didn't know that. Birmingham is also one off the posibility's i guess. But travelling with the Eurostar seams much cheaper to me. If I can fly to manchester or Birmingham for €150 I'll take the plain. Next year I'll probably join the RC and go on some trips. I've heard nothing then great stuff on TPV and Bjorn (zottewoef)

Hi, I'm planning a trip to England at the end of October because I think it isn't that crowded in the themeparks over there. I'm travelling by train using the Eurostar from Brussels to London. But then i should take the train to either Blackpool or Manchester. I want to visit Alton Towers and Blackpool if possible. When Blackpool turns out to far, I probably will visit drayton manor (the park which has the only stand-up coaster off Europe). Now comes the question for u guys that live in the UK. Should i directly take a train to Blackpool and book my hotel (Blackpool is the cheapest). Or is it easier to take the train to Manchester and visit the parks starting from there? I'll only go midweek so i want to do one park a day. Sites with info about Brittish railways are also welcome because i don't seem to find one general site Greetings, Bart
