  1. What does it tell you about Universal's risk mitigation strategy that they won't run a dueling coaster because of the potential of injury to riders, but Cedar Fair, Parque Reunidos, Six Flags, and Hersheypark all operate racing/dueling coasters in spite of having far smaller budgets?

You can almost even add Disney to that list. Think about Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. There are 13 trains at any one time zipping around the tight turns over and under each other on that track with riders that are allowed to carry pretty much anything they want to on that ride.

  2. It has to be something on your end. I've checked everything and your account is completely approved and active. I tried re-adding your account to the Club TPR Member forum and it's already there:742366676_ScreenShot2015-03-29at15_56_16.png.d735e0bf43cd715e59df31338a8b4e53.png

Can you perhaps clear your browser cache and please try it again?

  3. I don't even understand why this is news! I feel more and more that people are just being dramatic for the sake of it. I mean, this...

"It was terrifying, because I was up there and everything was spinning," Gabriella Centeno said after she reached solid ground. "I didn't know what to do."
"I'm scared of heights," she said, "but with their help I made it down. ... This was insane."

Give me a f'ing break! They weren't even at the top of the *85 Foot* lift hill!

Another news story quotes a 13 year old like he's some sort of ride expert....

“I was on the ride with my friends and I was excited we were going up. We were really happy. And then it just stopped,” Peter Manjgaladze, 13, said.
“It was a little bit scary because, since it’s wood, the whole ride was shaking,” Manjgaladze said.
“People said this was the first time it ever happened,” Manjgaladze added.

This is what smartphones have done for humanity.

  5. The Devs of TPS continue their hard work every day and with still listening to the community! Many many community-related things are put in the last update...

Honestly, this whole thing sounds like a press release. If you're really a "normal" player like you say you are, stop just going down the phase features and repeating "it's so easy" and actually show us WHY you think it's so easy to use.

Theme Park Studio will NOT be easy for everyone - much like Sketchup, an application that most 3D artists get their start in, is not easy for everyone either.

I refuse to be a part of Early Access for Theme Park Studio because when I backed them initially I was promised a full retail release over a year ago, WITHOUT having to deal with the middleman that is Steam. I'm not going to touch it until it's fully finished, because I have more important things to worry about at this point in my career. Also, for the record, I AM butthurt about it.

Also, I call shenanigans on this line here -

...not only is it easier to use, but more powerful, too.

I'd like you to tell me with a straight face that Theme Park Studio is more powerful than NoLimits 2. They may be on close levels to each other overall, fine, but nothing comes close to the accuracy, real-world usage and presentation capabilities of NoLimits 2. I'm coming to you as a person who uses NoLimits 2 in conjunction with other applications to create believable 3D scenes of attractions and parks, and what I have seen of Theme Park Studio doesn't even begin to match the stuff that I can make myself with NoLimits 2's assistance.

I do want to just set a few things straight here -

TPS has been in development a while because indie games take a long time to develop and when you're a very small team with a family, things can sometimes take longer than you expected. That being said, I think TPS has done a VERY good job of keeping the community informed with lots of updates and releases over the course of the development process.

I'm not exactly sure why anyone would be upset over the use of Steam. It makes zero sense to me. It's a way to get more exposure for the product and help with the delivery platform of the game. Why this is even a concern is beyond me.

For those who continue to compare the game to NL I have said from the beginning that I feel the two are VERY different and while there is obvious overlap, I'm not sure they really compete and would have different audiences.

I'd like our forum to support BOTH No Limits and Theme Park Studio and if there is one person that prefers one of the products over the other, that's fine. No need for disparaging comments back and forth to each other.

For over a decade we have seen a lack of products in the theme park/roller coaster sim market, it's been a dry barren desert with not much to choose from. Now there are several products out there and on the horizon. Embrace this. This is by far a better scenario than the past decade.

In short, please be supportive of the developments going on in this genre. The last thing we want is for this genre to dry up again. Thank you.

  6. Everyone knows that the "opening day" of a ride is never representative of what the line will be like later in the season. For Banshee and Gatekeeper opening days, the line was reported to be about four hours when I was there. When we went back later in the season, Banshee was about 30-45 minutes and Gatekeeper was about an hour. Granted we were there mid-week, but still...

  7. For those saying this coaster is "boring", "force less", or a "mine train in the middle seats"...you must be REALLY salty about B&M in order to let yourself have such a bad experience on the ride. I can't tell you that you are wrong, but if you are able to have such a negative experience about something so exciting, you are definitely in the wrong hobby.

This is what annoys me to no end. It's one thing to have your own opinion but why do you feel you are entitled to berate others for their opinions? If anything, to me that discredits anything you have to say. FFS people stop with the annoying back and forth drama. Isn't just posting your opinion enough with out having to be obnoxious towards other people?

If you think making disparaging comments towards other people's thoughts is a way to get someone to believe your opinion over theirs, that's where you're wrong.

  8. I'm too tired to do a full report right now, but today we did Selva Magica and once again this park proves that for being owned by the same company that owns La Feria, these two parks are NOTHING alike! What a great day we had! We also got to ride The Bullet. This is a coaster I used to ride all the time in the late 90s/early 2000s when I would go back and forth to work in the UK. Then the ride disappeared for about 10 years and everyone assumed it was gone forever, but then re-appeared at Selva Magica a couple of years ago and opened in 2014.

The ride is a one-of-a-kind totally twisted Schwarzkopf shuttle loop. This is a POV of it from 2002 from when it was at Flamingoland in the UK. Today we shot some amazing 4k and 1080p60 video that we will be posting soon! But for now, check out this older POV and some pics from today...

  9. There was that initial tweet that gave a neutral, but not derogatory review, and a few people ran with it to take the opportunity to bash the coaster. Then there were those who overreacted to that.

Exactly. It was one review. People went nuts over it. I asked people to tweet or send us their reviews and that was one that came in. Had I been tweeted a positive, glowing, ejaculating milk cartons review, I would have posted that, too.

Shame on me I guess for legit reporting what seasoned riders had to say about the ride?

  10. The reviews have ranged from it being a fun ride to an amazing ride. All positive. There needs to be no drama here. Go out to Carowinds and enjoy the new ride. Just because not all of the reviews are giving the ride an A+++, doesn't mean the ride is a disappointment.

Yup, exactly. Not sure why we need to keep saying this over and over again, but I'm assuming it's because humanity is just becoming more and more dumb and obnoxious, and unfortunately many of those people now post to our forums. We've already have a few of them weed themselves out over this discussion (a huge plus for the forum, IMO), and hopefully a few more will weed themselves out in the process.

Once again, I will repeat myself...

I'm really intrigued by Fury 325. Not to mention I'd love some old fashioned floaty airtime fun on Intimidator. Do I think they will be my #1 and #2? Not really, but I think they will make for an amazing trip to what seems to be a very nice park.

THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS!

I honestly do not understand the mentality shared by so many people that "if new coaster is not automatically your OMFG #1 blow me away ride, it means you HATE it and want it burned to the ground."

I get this so often and it's so insanely stupid and annoying. There are a TON of coasters that I *like* and would go out of my way to travel for that do not appear on my top ten list. Hell, Tokyo Disney, Europa Park, and Grona Lund are some of my favorite parks in the world that I would spend thousands of dollars to travel to, and not a single one of their coasters appear in my "top ten" list.

But to some coaster nerds, if you're not violently ejaculating milk cartons over the newest coaster, you're the most evil, vile person on the planet.

And this sort of thinking really needs to stop. It's a cancer that infects this hobby. FFS people, just enjoy the rides for what they are regardless where they fall in yours or someone else's ranking list.

I can't say this enough and I know for some people it will never sink in.

  11. I don't mean to fuel the fire or anything, because that's not what I'm trying to do, but I didn't really expect Fury to be an airtime machine.

Again, I'm not sure why people keep saying this. Those that weren't blown away by the ride weren't blown away because it wasn't an airtime machine, it was because the ride just didn't blow them away. And once again, let me just re-post what I said a few pages ago because clearly people aren't reading (It's a rare thing these days, I know...)
