I've got some sad news to report...after much oiling and much hammering, the first train was finally dispatched around 8:15 or so....and probably won't be any more for a few days. The train didn't make it up the third hill and is vallied somewhere in the middle of the ride. Might have photos and video a little later. Edit: Added photos. It was getting dark and was at the limit of what I can do with my camera and still hold it by hand...so the photos are slightly blurry. First train First train First train

They didn't drag it out because they wanted to. So far this year we've had around 40" of rain...normal for the entire year is around 50. The month of July alone we had nearly 10" (normal is 2) making it the 6th wettest July on record. In the 2 weeks before this one, out of 12 working days they lost 7 of those due to rain.

Track work continues... They were busy putting the steel on the first drop this afternoon after the area barely escaped getting soaked. There are scattered storms around the area but so far no rain in Kemah. If the weather holds for the rest of the day I was told that the track work should be finished up tonight and the ride should start testing later in the week after being inspected. Almost done! Steel is being placed on the first drop. Water jugs for testing. Ticket booth. According to the sign hanging next to it, Boardwalk Bullet is currently "closed for adjustments" Ride entrance

From Hobby the quickest way to get there is to take I-45 South to FM 518 (League City - Exit 23). Turn left on FM 518. At the split for FM 518 / FM 2094 continue going straight which will take you onto FM 2094. FM 2094 dead ends at SH 146. Turn left on SH 146, and then right at the first light...follow the signs to the boardwalk. From I-45 to Kemah it is about 8 miles. You can also take NASA 1 from I-45 to 146 and then take a right on 146 and you'll see the Boardwalk...but if you are coming from 45, 518 is quicker.

As of this afternoon they were working on the turn near the Starbucks (above the new sign they just installed). There was still no track at the top of the lift or on the first drop. Hard to see beyond that what doesn't have steel on it. The second train is no longer in the lot, so I'm guessing it has now been placed on the ride as well. The plastic water jugs for testing were sitting on a pallet in the parking lot. Today was the first day in about a week where it didn't rain at all and forecast is looking better for the next week.

Weather isn't looking good for the rest of the week. It rained today and a lot more is forecast over the next several days. Made a quick trip for some photos this evening, signs are going up, the queue is getting longer and longer, and installation of the track continues.... You can see the queue come around the corner and more forms appear to be set to continue it on. Entrance under the water tower, new sign being installed, and lots of queue. The sign along the street is up
