The first Looping Star at Dreamland Margate when it was BemBom Brothers back in 1987
-
Rattlesnake and Vampire at Chessington were not worth 10 mins let alone the hour and a half wait.
Also the hour wait for the Hamster coaster at FujiQ.
Did wait almost 3 hours for X, and it was worth it.

Nemesis is one of the best themed rides about.
Duelling Dragons is up there too.
Personally I thought the Bermuda Triangle water ride at Sea World Gold Coast OZ had the best theming. Lost planes, desert island beach huts and a volcano. Very impressive.

Got to be Project Stealth whatever it ends up being called.
Probably the only new one I'll go on, and only half the height of TTD but hey it's only the 2nd 200ft er in UK so I'm not complaining
-
The Beast, which I think was exactly the same as the other Beast that used to be in Talbot Street, but was moved and painted from green to red.
The old Beast called the Alton Beast I think was taken back to Schwarzkopf in 1990, and was replaced by another exactly the same, but a different colour.
This 'New Beast' was placed in the new 'Thunder Valley' area rather than Talbot street. Local residents had forced the closure of ride section of this area due to noise - back in 1990 you could walk from the corkscrew to the black hole around the back of the towers- passed the Beast and the Alton Mouse another now gone ride.

132 at the moment on 4 continents

1st) i loved fujiyama! the last stretch to the station throws you around so much. thank gawd there's no ots restraints, right? we loved it.
Couldn't agree more. this was the best that I rode in Japan - and far better than Magnum XL200 which was rough as hell (went on both within a month of each other)
would rather ride that again than regina. i found the roughness on regina more of a problem than white canyon. Are you kinding? Regina was wonderfully smooth and gave such a rush. White Canyon was aweful - though not as bad as Mean streak
-
UKs signature rides must be PMBO, Grand National, Nemesis, Air, Oblivion, Colossus, Megafobia and the Ultimate.
-
Jubilee Odyssey, Fantasy Island
White Canyon, Yomiuriland
Mean Streak and Mantis, Cedar Point
-
Rode it on 27th Aug this year, at front middle and back. Front was amazing, back almost killed me, I've never been thrown about so much!
-
Best Millennium Force
Most wanted Shivering Timbers or The Beast
-
James Bond rode a coaster in Vienna in Living Daylights
Dirty Harry shot some bad men next to the Giant Dipper Santa Cruz in Sudden Impact
And hasn't USH been featured in a few (hundred) films?

The 'Magic Mouse' at Funderland Park colchester last Saturday. A spinning mouse at a mbile funfair claiming to be a themepark.
Avoid this place, full of chavs and vicky pollard a likes oh and smoking ride operators.

Happened 3rd September, hell I was on it on the Sunday just before. It was throwing me about alot at the back. I had to hold on for dear life. (Worse than the Manhattan Express I might add)
Is that normal for the back of the Cyclone? Or was this sometime to do with what happened days later.

Hy Phil,
stil on tour in Japan?
If not - is there any possibility to do a short (or longer) TR of your trip?
That would be great
Not on tour in Japan, now in NY having been driving from LA via Route 66, Cedar Point(my first visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Toronto and Boston.
I will do a Japan TR when I get back to the UK hopefully with pictures.
Bestcoasters of Japan were Fujiyama, Regina and SurfCoaster.
But TTD and MF topped all those !
-
On the subject of credit whoring;
Yomiuriland Standing and Looping Coaster, 2 or 1 credit?
-
Big Blue Drop, Sea Paradise near Yokohama - biggest one I think?
-
Geo Panic at LaQua tokyo very strange
-
On that advice have abandoned Summerland from Itinery.
All other parks very easy to get to.
And as for prices,
LaQua Thunder Dolphin 1000 yen Geo Panic 800 yen
Yokohama Cosmoworld Vanish 700 yen Spinning coaster 500 yen
Sea Paradise Get the 2900 yen ticket / wristband for all rides (I think the ticket machine takes credit cards)
Tobu zoo 3900 yen free pass ticket for all rides - Regina is an absolute must - IMO best ride out here better than Thunder Dolphin and Surf Coaster
Also you must visit the beautiful littlle park Hanayashiki near the Sensoji shrine at Asakusa (not part of the Alvey intinery by the looks of it)
1000yen will get you in, 4 100 yen tickets will get you on Roller Coaster, the oldest coaster in Japan from 1953, and it steel aswell so it outdates the Matterhorn Bobs !
MAJOR ADVICE : Last week in July is agreat time to visit because there are NO queues at all anywhere, except 10 minutes in evening for Thunder Dolphin whilst the suits let off some steam
Well Yomiuriland and Toshimaen await today, Fuji Q tomorrow and some culture for rest of trip
Phil in Japan
-
Cheers for the advice on the parks. Scorching day today so visited Yokohama and Sea Paradise with that mad water chute thing, photos just don't do it justice !
Took the Shinkansen to Yokohama from Tokyo where they speak perfect English at the Shin reservation desk ( and take credit card aswell ). Going to try for Yomiruiland, Summerland and LaQua tomorrow.
Phil still in Tokyo
Yokohama Cosmoworld Wheel...
in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Posted
Giant Wheel at Palette Town is bigger, something like 390ft - it tells you on the ride and that it was the largest until 99 when the London Eye opened.
but how big were the wheels at Yomiuriland and FujiQ(now that was a nice one)
