  1. I took a visit this weekend as well. We had a wonderfull day, even if it was crowded our longest wait was about 30 minutes for BlueFire... @Craig: they not only made a huge pumpkin out of EuroSat for halloween, they event renamed it It was fully rethemed on the inside with weird halloween stuff and a new soundtrack! Here's another picture I took from Atlantica: Cheers Ivi
  2. Hi folks, I got off from work pretty early, so I decided to take a spontanious extra hour train ride to give Conny Land and especially cobra a first try. As I mentioned, it was my first visit to the park... So I checked their website on my mobile: park entrance till 17h00, closure at 18h00. Entrance fee was anounced at 29.- Sfr. I arrived with public transports at 16h58 and the entrance was already sort of shut down.. Great I thought, all the way out here for nothing, what a boomer... But then I saw a park worker passing by and I asked kindly to still enter for just an hour. To my surprise, a few minutes later I was in and had only to pay 12.- Sfr, how cool was that? So I walked directly towards the entrance of cobra. I wasn't surprised as there was no line - it's kind of a small park, it's a weekday and school isnt out for summer here in switzerland. So I took my first ride in the really front. The ride operator didn't wait for other guests and so my ride did start immediatly. As the car was pulled backwards I felt weird and was prepared for the worst. In addition to that, when the cable pull thing attached to my car some really special noises flew trough my ears, that did not helped at all.. I was impressed by the height of the lift hill and then I was released to the track - prepared with vekoma-brace position. But my expectations were wrong - I actually enjoyed my ride and it wasn't rough at all. I mean, it's not super smooth, but it's really ok! The coolest element was the upside down part at the end of the ride, where you definetly noticing the Conny Land logo placed at the top of the lift hill. It would be a cool addition, if the sign would be going upside down as well whenever cobra is it - so you would be able to read it "normally" After walking arround and trying other stuff out (I overall really liked the park, I was treated very well, everyone was really friendly, the food was excellent and there's a lot of stuff to do, especially for kids) I came back for a second ride on cobra and checked the back out. That wasn't actually the best idea of the day, because in the back there was some serious pain directly after the first drop and overall it was a much rougher ride. So I finished my quick inspection with another ride in the front, which was totally ok for me! So that's it from my part, please notice that I didn't rode it before the track refurbishment etc. so I can't tell you the difference... So long, ivi That's how to combine a coaster with a parking lot. Here's a short video of the lift hill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHF1yg__kBA
  3. You're right, regarding to their website I can confirm that the ride is actually down. According to the news entry on the official page, the ride is down for "maintenance" and furhter "optimization", they can't set a reopening date so far... Too sad. Greetings Ivi
  4. Hi there! If somebody is still interested, after almost 4 years of work the coaster finally opened yesterday. Here you can find some news published in a swiss newspaper: http://www.20min.ch/news/ostschweiz/story/Erste-Schweizer-Achterbahn-mit-Looping-13730206 No videos so far posted on youtube, maybe I'm going to check it out next weekend.. Cheers Ivi
  5. Hi Robb, I had some serious problems when trying to upload a video to coastertube: Tried it with my mac (Opera, Firefox and Safari), but when I click on the upload button nothing happens (maybe a script problem with the upload progress bar, which should be normally displayed after clicking on the button). So I switched to my windows machine and could successfully upload my video with IE 7.0. But after the progress bar reached the end, the site starts to reload like forever.. Waited for more than 15 minutes, then I closed my IE. I suppose that the videos ("Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.wmv" and "Six Flags Discovery Kingdom 2.wmv") has been uploaded and you can see them on your server, but there's no mapping between the videos and my account so I cannot see them... Thanks for any help, Ivan PS: if the player can handle *.m4v as well, would be nice to allow the filetype for upload.
  6. Yeah, sounds kind of weird with all that religion stuff they want to include...
  7. Hi all, I was quite surprised if I read the news in a swiss newspaper: http://www.blick.ch/news/wissenschaftundtechnik/mit-der-achterbahn-in-die-holle-90174 So basicly they say that the park would be called "Genesis-Land" and should be placed near the Holiday Park (Area Rhein-Main / Heidelberg). They are actually looking for investors, 300 Millionen Swiss Francs should be invested! Take a look at the official site which is already online (also in english): http://www.genesis-land.ch Greetings Ivi
