Awesome job everyone!
In one day I raised $240 and I haven't even stopped yet.
Let's see if we can hit $25,000!
-
Went out to the park today. 10 to 15 minute wait for Leviathan at about 1:00 this afternoon and about half that for Behemoth. Both coasters were absolutely hauling A$$ although Behemoth was rattling quite a bit.
^The rattle is going to make Coasting for Kids event on the 10th quite interesting

Ya...no countdown.
Overall I found the show to be very well done. I haven't seen a fireworks show at Wonderland since Cedar Fair took over but this being my first, you can call me impressed.
-
Here is the video as promised of the Victoria Day Fireworks.
Sorry for some of the shakiness, I was shooting on my iPhone 4S.

Great job everyone.
I am trying to reach my new goal of $400 now. Only $90 dollars away. Reached my original goal a while back then decided I was going to push to double it. *fingers crossed*

Photos as promised. Usually my iPhone spits out great photos, but last night it just wasn't cooperating.
Video is still uploading.
The line of cars turning into the park
Still loving the sign and forced perspective they set up to make Leviathan look even bigger then it is.
Ya, line was just a little long.
Best new 2012 addition
Loved this shot.
The lights in the fountain really shine at night, pun intended
Leviathan area at night
Rawr
Love the LED lights in the main fountains
Another of the several Leviathan shirts. Not too shabby.

Any news on whether attendees will be doing the same stuff as those at Leviamania? I hear they're getting to walk up Wonder Mountain, and sign Leviathan's tunnel/laire.
Sign the tunnel? I never heard that.
Either way, I will be at both events and cannot wait. Can't get to much of Leviathan.

Was at the park yesterday for a few hours to check out the Victoria Day fireworks and wow was the park rammed. Not surpirised and not complaining either but it was nice to see it so busy.
- Leviathan line was all the way back to the Milk Can game and quoted at 3 hours but we were on in under 2. Very impressed with the hustle.
- Coke Freestyle machines are now installed at two locations (Midevil Funnel Cakes & Outside of Behemoth).
- They do have a lot of flavors that are normally not available in Canada (Pibb being my favorite) so that is definitely a nice change of pace.
- The Victoria Day fireworks were amazing in my eyes. Although they were not 100% Disney quality, they were very very close. Great music, great energy and just a great show.
- Watching the parking lot craziness afterwards was also great. The park closed at 10pm (Fireworks done by 1015) and we were finally able to leave the parking lot at around midnight. I
I will post some photos and a video of the entire firework show once I return home, as well as some footage of the parking lot craziness. Overall for spending 4 hours in the park, riding one ride, and watching the fireworks show, it was one of the most enjoyable times I've had in the park. I think the nighttime atmosphere really plays into the enjoyment level of a park for me.

Well, it's definitely something of an improvement.
All issues aside, it really doesn't affect the ride at all what color or material it's made out of, the coaster is still amazing even if it was a wooden tunnel painted with yellow and green polka dots
-
I'm dissappointed that the tunnel had no theming to it, they could've done something like Bizarro (SFNE)'s tunnel or at least theme it a little bit like Goliath (SFMM)'s tunnel.
I still have faith that it's not finished. Time will tell I suppose.

Much like Jason commented, had a great day at Wonderland today. I won't be too detailed cause Jason covered much of it but some random thoughts and notes:
- Leviathan was already running better then SPPN night last week.
- The tunnel does add a great head chopper effect, however, I really hope they aren't done with it. I know there's still possible landscaping and what not to be done (grass/trees/etc), so I am not giving up hope. It's just looking at the tunnel compared to the entry plaza and everything it's kind of, hmm, "weak".
- The ride crew was amazing on Leviathan today with the odd exception of a lot of empty seats going out. In some cases the front train would only have 2 people sitting in it. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but something that could be worked on. After all, it is opening day.
- Behemoth is great still. It was giving amazing airtime in the back as always. Really looking forward to marathoning this for Coasting for Kids on June 10th. By the way, donate here if you haven't already https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/joshuamclachlan/CanadasWonderland
- Shockwave still only has three out of the six arms functioning at the moment. The other 3 remain under tarps for some reason.
- Overall I'd give Wonderland a 10/10 for opening day. I have a feeling this season is going to be super special and super successful for the park and Cedar Fair!
Here are some random pics from throughout the day. Enjoy.

Leviathan's tunnel. Thoughts?
Pre opening testing
Getting ready to enter the park for the official kick off to the 2012 season.
Love the skin on the trains.
I find this picture really shows the length of the lift
Artsy shot or just crooked shot?
Train full of happy riders
Artsy shot for sure
"Riders your train will be dropping in 3...2...Ahhhhhhhhhh"
Don't worry, we didn't forget about you "little" brother
Artsy again
Who can spot the new seats for Sledge Hammer?
Fast Lane entry on the right. The implementation of this at Wonderland looked to be going great
Oh Sledge Hammer
Shot of the Leviathan queue from the loading stairs
The extended "extended" queue for Leviathan while we were leaving. Aprox 90 min wait by my guess.
All opening days must end with this! Thanks for a great opening day Wonderland.

In this attraction, we’ll let you walk in the footsteps of Jack Sparrow
Wonder if this attraction will be sponsored by Alcoholics Anonymous
Cannot wait for this. I love POTC and this could be really awesome for sure.

Yeah I'm surprised anybody thinks that's finished. There are still pieces on the ground...and it kind of looks like a sewer pipe.
Future Ninja Turtles re-theme
Ya, saving judgement as well till it's done. I can't see Cedar Fair installing it just like that with such great landscaping and care all around the rest of the ride.
-
Well at least the haters will now have something other then the brake run as lack of a proper finish to talk about for 5 pages .
Team Tunnel!
-
I am gonna go out on a limb and say they are far from done with the tunnel.
-
Well, I now have another reason to make it out to Vegas. I've been there before but haven't had much of a reason to go back, well, with Speed being rebuilt (credit I did not get) and this, well, Vegas here I come!
-
I'm kind of bummed as that was the only credit there, that I'm not sure I had. I was hoping to get it in a couple weeks. Oh well. I guess I'll just say I did ride it then.
Me too, and I was planning a late summer trip there and hoping to finally get it. It has always been a "next time" ride for me. Opps?
-
I've tried searching this thread for "shirt" and "t shirt" and couldn't come across anything about t shirts for this event. Will people just attending the Bash get t shirts like most events or not? Not a big deal if we aren't, but just kind of popped in my mind today.
-
The exact same turn is on another B&M right across the park!
You couldn't be further away from the truth on this statement. The hammerhead on Leviathan is far more over banked then the one on Behemoth. Pictures and videos really do not do this ride justice. Get your butt up to Wonderland, ride it, then critique.
Robb, I am with you, I am also an airtime type of guy however I find love in all elements. I've been battling over and over in my head which is better between the two and I've yet to come to a conclusive choice. What I have come to realize though is that Wonderland now has 2 World class B&M's in their park, and that, is nothing but good!
-
I like the layout, but it seems like it needs another 1,500 feet or so...in the form of bunny hills. The brake run, wtf?
Honestly this is the perfect length. If you do bunny hills like that then it would start being too close to Behemoth. Test me, if you ride this you won't be concerned with the lack of bunny hills.
-
Look like a great ride, my only concern is that I'm a lil' disturbed by the rattle i heard in the POV (unless its the camera).
Ride is super smooth. Just like a B&M should be.
-
Wait wait wait...the most exciting thing I've seen so far is I think the arcade that is near the ride is the one that had "Metric Skeeball"!!!!
"We are playin metric Skee Ball...it says 10 points, but it's really 80"
It is...However, where they set up the On Ride Photo pickup is where the skeeball used to be. Unless they moved the skeeball to a different part of the arcade, it may have been removed entirely
Cannot confirm though as I did not walk the length of the arcade.

^^ To give you an idea, it was snowing this morning a little bit, so ya, it was extremely cold at points.

POV is awesome and those pictures are sweet. Looking forward to LeviaTHON even more now!
It truly is a very photogenic coaster and an amazing ride. You won't be disappointed at all. Look forward to seeing you at LeviaTHON!

Today was Leviamania at Canada's Wonderland put on by CWMania. It was an amazing event. I have photos and videos which I am transferring now and will upload tomorrow, but some notes:
- 14 Rides on Leviathan During ERT.
- The walk into and up Wonder Mountain was amazing. Got to see some amazing views of the park that has been unseen by the public in such a long time.
- The interview with park management revealed something interesting. Behemoth was originally supposed to be named Leviathan. Senior execs did not like that name and eventually Behemoth was born. When the execs got replaced and the new B&M was being pitched, the obvious choice was Leviathan, and new execs liked the name. I found this really interesting due to the location of Behemoth. The name change would've been far better suited if you swapped them out.
- There are "always thoughts about building something inside of Wonder Mountain"
- Dinosaurs Alive exceeded my expectations. I thought the area was large, the animitronics were great, and the overall impression was a real hit.
- The backstage tour of Leviathan, Dragon Fire and Wild Beast (a surprise tour) was great. Lots of great photos and lots amazing information.
- The tunnel is not done. They didn't give a time frame but did mention that it will still be "evolving" over time.
- More lighting is being set up as well to help illuminate the life/drop.
- Evening ERT was great. Got 15 or 16 rides in on Behemoth as park of my warm up for Coasting for Kids on June 10th, which by the way its not too late to donate at https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/joshuamclachlan/CanadasWonderland
- A great event by CWMania and a gets me pumped for Leviathan Bash.
Hope you guys enjoyed this quickfire report. I will posted the photos tomorrow as well as an entire video walk through of Dinosaurs Alive.
