If you go to Beech Bend, the Corvette Museum is also in Bowling Green, so your dad might be into that. I highly recommend Kentucky Rumbler!

Yes...on, under, inside and around. The lift hill walk up was a little unnerving.

I went this past summer. The guys who lease the park were SUPER nice to me. They even gave me a walking tour of Nightmare...I mean actually on the structure. See my pics here:

I really hope they can get the coaster up and running. It looks like one that would easily rank in my top 20 or so.

Amazing pics. This really makes me want to visit during the Christmas season, but alas I won't get back til Spring. Hurry up Friday the 13th!

Lol yeah that was a fun day standing in the pouring rain waiting for it to open.

Yay for Starliner. Probably my favorite woodie tunnel moment ever.
-
I was there. Awesome day! I think it was even better than SP day last year.

Hey great TR. I think I passed you guys over near Sogo at one point in the day. I too hit The Varsity, but it was about 6:30 by the time I got there. I always have to stop there when I'm in the ATL. What a great day at SFOG!

I've been going to DW since it was Gold Rush Junction and after that Silver Dollar City. When it was GRJ, it had a wild mouse which isn't even listed on RCDB, but it and the flume were the only big rides. I never got to visit when it was Rebel Railroad. Over the years, it has only changed for the better IMO. I wouldn't want a chairlift either, but a sky ride with themed gondolas wouldn't hurt in my book.
-
Why not link all 3 stations for a complete loop like what BGE did? I'd LOVE for DW to add a sky ride. Imagine floating over the hills looking down at the park and out at the Smokies.

But at this point there is money to give Shapiro a 30% raise from last year.

Yep Holtskee I know how Rockin' Roadway is laid out. I also know how Zippin Pippin is laid out.
-
Who says Rockin Roadway and ZP couldn't coexist?
-
Nice pics. I can't think of a park where I would enjoy Halloween more than at BGE.

I'll be at DL on Saturday Aug. 26th. Woo! One more week to go. Then I'll be at DCA on Tuesday 29th. Has anyone been to DL on a Saturday lately? I'm a little bit worried about crowds, but at least the park is open til midnight. I'm loving the tips y'all. Keep them coming!

James...shouldn't that be the corn MAIZE?

Suh weet. This will seal the deal on a DW trip next year.

No I didn't go to college in Fl but at Auburn. The girl who talked about it was from Nashville, and I think she rode it at the Tennessee state fair. I just remember her saying the ride op would scream, "KICK BOOTYYYYY!".
-
WOW. I had totally forgotten about a girl I went to college with back in the 80's talking about this ride. I can only imagine how gloriously sick it must've been. Nice to finally get to see pics of it in action. Thanks for posting them!
