  1. This is so sad

I live 10 minutes away from this coaster and it was my first woodie. Driving past it on I95 is easily the most interesting part of my commute to school.

The only other wooden coaster I've ever been on before was Gwazi, so that's not much to compare it to, but apparently this was a really great ride as far as woodies are concerned.

(btw...the animation in my avatar is a sped up POV on The Blender...the skyscraper ride that used to be at boomers that is also now gone)

  2. I've been waiting ever since I got off work at 5. I now have 100 people in front of me! I'm getting excited now! I think I'm just going to go for one of the colored balls...it is going to be so exciting if I win something no matter how stupid it is, so if those are easier to get then that is what I'm going for. 4 of the 8 people around me have been sticking with me for the last 400 minutes.

    This is getting exciting!

(Btw I haven't posted here or on any theme park related forum other than horror night nightmares in a VERY long time.....this is a weird way to start back up again, but hey I'm still here)

  3. I started the download last night, woke up in the morning and it said it was complete. The file was 1.2 GB, not 1.3, but it worked nonetheless.

I used Safari (for windows) to download it, because I do all sorts of weird things in firefox and make it crash all the time.

When it downloaded it, the file's extension was not filename.mp4, it was filename.mp4.gz

Quicktime could not recognize the file until I deleted .gz from the extension, then, it worked great.

I'm not sure what the .gz is....probably a weird Safari thing.

None of this was a problem though, because I have the video now and it plays

  4. I've been having the same problem but Robb is right, when the file stops downloading, it's because the server is busy and my browser times out.

I'm going to try this during the night, and it should work.

If only people read THIS thread, the one that they had to go to get their link from, then I think there would be less people saying that the store is broken and "this is why I don't pay for any of the downloadable videos in the TPR store" and hopefully more people being thankful.

-Andrew "Is going to buy a T Shirt, a Hoodie, and maybe a few In the Raw DVDs once I get a PayPal account."

  5. Same here, but it looks so cool! And trust me, I live in the North and I honestly HATE snow!! I mean I love how we get snow days but once you have been up here for awhile the gray and cold days get old!

Just like the sun and hot weather gets old for us down in Florida (at least for me). Everyone tells me that I would hate living up north, but I would love being able to go outside without feeling like I need to take a shower when I come back in.

    I've been loving these updates.

So many awesome people are at this show.

I was particularly interested in all of the haunt stuff that I saw in the pictures.

  6. I just watched a video on Screamscape (scroll down the page a bit). Correct me if I'm wrong, but the video shows a train pulling back into the loading area with guests aboard. Didn't the trains let you off downstairs and then returned empty to the loading area? If so, then it looks like they changed it.

Are you absolutely sure that you weren't just seeing them exit in the downstairs loading area?

I don't think guests have ever been allowed to ride that small lift back up to the first loading station, and even if they did, they'd probably be sitting on it, backed up for a while, waiting for the extra trains to cycle before they could get back to the station.

  7. I've found that the rails are the perfect distance apart to sit on one side and put your feet on the bottom of the other.

Not everyone is exactly the same height as you. Also, no body wants to touch where your A$$ has been!

People seem to be fine with touching where thousands of people put their hands all day long, my shorts aren't making the railings any dirtier...

You don't have to be an exact height, but it is a nice place to rest.

    Amazing?

    Indeed.

<--- Showing my love for the railing

  8. Regarding the width of the queue, I say, the more narrow the better. The narrow lines seem to move faster because it does not allow large groups to clump up and condense. Keeps everybody moving!

    Chris.

Also, I know that sitting on railings is usually discouraged in queues, but I've never seen a sign or heard a person tell me not to in Space Mountain, and on the standby side, I've found that the rails are the perfect distance apart to sit on one side and put your feet on the bottom of the other.

The fastpass line, however, lacks this amazing trait.

    And for the general topic:

I'm still really hoping for the same trains, and even if they change the trains, I doubt that it will be possible to make two in a row seating without replacing the track, which makes me happy, because I don't want that changed.

I want it to be darker in the ride, and I know it will be, because they are closing in the station.

I do hope that they change the projections inside the building. When I rode past one of the walls I could see really shaky looking stars, it looked pretty sad.

    And what about the post-show?

I'm a big fan of the nostalgia from this area, but I also realize how old it is. So I guess I'll be happy whether they keep it or change it.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about when I say

blue light shining through thin pieces of wood with holes in it?

Those remind me of a store shelf, where all of the pegs hang from.

They've been working on this refurb for a while, so I'm sure that there is a lot more that they've been working on that we don't know about.

  9. I'm both excited and disappointed from finding out that the ride has not been changed much. Honestly, I hope the trains are the same. I think they are so comfortable and I love the 1 in a row seating.

I also hope that they keep the music from the original queue in some form.

I like the new enclosed station a lot!

    And....

I think it was on the side with the most drops.

Both sides are the same! Only mirror images! Gahhhhhhh!!!

  10. I just got back from my first HHN ever!

    Last night was amazing!

I will be posting a full trip report on HHNVault and in this thread later today or whenever I get around to it.

I got into the park a little after 6 pm and I was able to get 4 houses done (not including the one I did twice in a row) in the first hour, easily.

No Express Pass, and I did ever single house at least once.

I did Silver Screams 3 times and all three soundstage houses twice (once with my friend and once by myself at the end of the night...she didnt want to go twice).

My friend (who is a girl) had most of the scares aimed at her all night.

She says "It's fun being scared but I don't like it because it's scary."

She agreed to do everything once, and since she's such a great friend, was happy to sit and watch the chainsaw guys scare other people while I did houses a second time.

Even though most of the scares were aimed at her (she refused to walk behind me even though I wanted to be in front anyway), the ones that got me were great.

Especially at the end of the night, at around 1:50 am, when I went though Dracula completely by myself. I let the group in front of me pass, and I waited about 45 seconds and explained to the greeter at the entrance why I was standing there (she thought I was either lost or too nervous to go in).

Best experience all night. I jumped about 20 times and I was able to slow down and even stop to look at all the detail.

I even had one of Dracula's brides follow me down a hallway. I didn't even know she was following me until I saw the look on the security guard's face, and looked behind me to see what she was smiling about.

I'll post more later, when I have time.

  11. Why would you recommend doing Silver Screams first?

It has had the shortest lines of any of the houses.

I'd say go for Saw, Chucky, and the Spawning first, because the lines for those will get unbearable later on.

(EDIT: I guess what you said makes sense because that is the order that those houses are from the entrance. I guess I'm just more willing to walk out of my way to ensure I get in before the line gets long)

  12. It's hard to post an Excel spreadsheet into a message board...but here were the wait times for last night, every half hour. The first time is for 7:00, the last time is for 1:30.

By these numbers, it's obvious that Saw and Chucky need to be done first.

After that, it should have been no problem to get the rest of the houses in that night.

    Chucky	10	10	20	30	45	90	75	60	60	60	60	60	45	45
    The Spawning	15	20	20	30	45	45	45	45	45	30	30	20	10	5
    Leave it to Cleaver	5	5	20	20	45	45	45	45	45	45	20	5	10	5
    Dracula	10	30	30	45	45	45	45	30	30	60	20	20	20	20
    The Wolfman	20	30	30	45	30	30	20	30	30	30	20	20	20	5
    Silver Screams	5	5	30	15	20	25	30	20	35	35	20	20	20	15
    Frankenstein	10	20	30	30	30	30	45	45	45	45	30	20	5	5
    Saw	10	30	60	90	90	90	90	90	90	90	90	90	90	60

    But tonight?

Saw has consistantly had 120 minutes, and at 10:30, Chucky had 120 minutes and Saw had 150.

  13. Yeah, I heard that last night was extremely packed for some weird reason.

I was originally planning on going on a thursday to avoid the longer lines, but I realized that the extra 2 hours on friday more than makes up for it.

Express passes are $70. ON TOP OF ADMISSION. Absolutely not worth it, for me at least.

Assuming you are paying regular non-FL resident prices (I'm paying $50 with the coke discount). That is $140 per person for a 7 1/2 hour event.

RUN to Saw first thing, then Chucky, then everything else in the order of what is is most important to you first. You should be able to do everything in one night.

Some say that it is worth the $70 to be able to experience everything, but I'd rather miss a house or two and save $70.

You can sign up to recieve the wait times for the night via text every half hour.

    Just text TONIGHT to 64646

I'm trying it out tonight just for fun.

I've been making a spreadsheet with the wait times, and there are some interesting patterns that make it pretty obvious what should be done first.

Saw started at 10 minutes, by 8:00 it was 60 minutes, by 8:30 it was 90 minutes and it has not gone down at all.

Chucky was 60 minutes and 75 minutes a lot, and was even 90 at one time.

The other houses average around 30 minutes. Silver Screams has had the lowest wait times, which is odd, since it is the Icon house.

I'll post the entire spreadsheet at the end of the night once I get all of the wait times. Once midnight hit, the lines all went down to mostly 20 minutes (except Saw, which is still 90).

When I post my photo TR in a week, should it go in it's own thread, or right in this thread?

  14. BEST:

Watching Tinker Bell get stuck on the zip line from Cinderalla's Castle during the nightly fireworks show at WDW-MK August 2006. The best part was finding out later that evening from a Cast Member-friend that Tinker Bell was being played by a dude that night.

    That was a good thing?

How did they get him down?

I'd be afraid for the person stuck up there.

  15. Look closely at her little NoLimits project. It's hilariously bad.

NoLimits is pretty hard to get used to building roller coasters in, but did you see some of the sharp corners in her track?

And then they cut away and used the Expedition GeForce ride that came with the game, and acted like they made something.

99.9% of the viewers would never notice this. I'm not trying to be a complainy enthusiast, it just made the video that much more entertaining.

Those virtual reality glasses looked awesome. They should make one with an accelerometer in them, and map the accelerometer to control the camera movement. If they did that, then $200 would be a great dea!

  16. idk anymore just buy express passes just in case. i work at hhn and went thurs on my day off and most of the houses late at over an hr with saw topping out at 90mins. Where tonight frankenstein and dracula we had walk-ons by 1230. They do offer late passes like if we close at 2 after 11 express pass.

That's good to know. I've heard that Frankenstein and Dracula are two of the best houses, so I'm glad to hear that. I'm going on a Friday however, things could be different...

Saw will almost definitely be a huge line all night long, so I know where I'm headed as soon as the park opens.

I'm so excited. I just bought my tickets today, so now I know for sure 100% that I get to go to HHN for the first time ever!

I'll be going to IOA before HHN starts on October 23rd.

Does anyone know if Dueling Dragons will still be open then?

(Or will it be closed for Harry Potter construction?)
