  1. The guy turned the motor down when I was on. I was able to keep snapping, but only moderately. He got pissed and fired it back up again and started screaming some gibberish and "TONE IT DOWN! YOU! (full body point) TONE IT DOWN!". That guy was a total f*ing jackass. While I agree with enforcing the rules of the ride the way he did it was deplorable. Shouting at guests is totally out of line and not at all in line with what I would expect any park owner would find acceptable. That all said my understanding is that the flyers took quite a beating last PPP weekend and the park is very concerned. Specifically from the Saturday night session (which I stayed away from, but only because of the lines) I wouldn't be at all surprised or angry if they toned the ride down quite a bit next year in an effort to keep it around a few more years. One other thing that was mentioned is that snapping is scaring the regular folks and kids. Can't have your bread and butter customers doubting the safety of a ride or it's riders. My take on it is that we have had a good time on the ride and been allowed to do some things most parks wouldn't allow. If they slow it down or restrict it so be it, it's been a good run. Todd Long
  2. Good stuff. Was wondering if the Burlington coaster was going up or coming down. RCDB lists it as being there since 1960. Maybe it's just maintenence. Yeah, that the ticket. I'm guessing the canopies on the other ride are so you can ride it in the rain. It is that bad there? Odd. Todd
  3. From the glowing reviews on RRC of course! Seriously, I've known Robb forever and Elissa almost as long and finally am making time to post here. As with most of the things and people I love in my life, I gotta stop worrying about having time, I have to make time. Todd
  4. Knoebel's boat ride seems to offer quite the workout and adventure...
  5. Observations... 1. If they slowed down the Flying Scooters could you get much action or does the fact it's an 8 tub make that impossible? 2. The train. I assume it still goes clockwise. They ought to turn it around and over the next 50 years it would straigten back up. 3. So where the hell are all the pics of the fat people? 4 What did you think of the Big Dipper? 5.What did you eat there? Pronto Pups (corn dogs) seem to be the signature food. Todd
  6. I so love that picture! As for Camden Park are they still charging to park? I went by a few weeks ago when I was in town moving my grandmother and peeked in. They were stuff getting ready for opening day. That was my hometown park as a kid and while I don't remember it I assume the Little Dipper was my first coaster. First one I remember was the Big Dipper. Dod you look in the gift shop? A few years ago they had a bumper sticker that said "I got caught having fun at Camden Park". Cracked me up cause when I asked the local kids in the family if they wanted to go one said "No one would be caught dead there." Too bad I wasn't there I'd have loved showing you where the elephant pit and zoo where. Along with the above ground pool dolphin show. I have good memories of the place and the couple times I've been lately I just picture what was and try and make the memories cover up the problems. Todd
  7. So I'm sitting in my underroos looking at the Deep South update and come across the pic of Joe and Robb at Whitewater. While I'm trying not to spew some gurgitate my son walks in and stops dead. Then there is a brief silence and I say "Oh that's Robb." His face goes back to normal and he says "Oh, Ok" like it was a pic of puppies playing or something, then he bums some money off me and leaves.
