  1. Interesting. Why did you post this: Then swap it with my quote? EDIT: Apparently, the image above is real - and was featured in the Alton Towers Staff Newsletter. I am guessing what was said within the newsletter will be drip feed to us within the coming days/weeks via marketing.
  2. Personally, I could see this being how the supports and track are built - in the following order: Phase 1: As we know, phase 1 was the building of the Batwing/Cobra Roll Element & the inversion under the station as well as the station track. Phase 2: As we also know, phase 2 was the track above the toilets which included the pre drops from both lifts and half of both inversions which make up the inverted drops. Phase 3: I would of thought they would want to get the track in underneath the maintenance shed before long as they have to have the maintenance building up a ready alongside the station (of which is having continuous work carried out on it). This could include some sort of secret element/track. This could also be completed before the main season starts (if X-Sector is to be open with the start of the main season) so that if there is a secret element it won't be revealed to the public as the park isn't open. Phase 4: Could be done at the same time as Phase 3 - This phase is getting most of the middle section of the coaster done. This includes multiple inversions and elements; the first drop, both Dive Loops, both bunny hills, the Corkscrew after the Batwing, the mid-course break run, the sea serpent roll, both corkscrews (could be classed as a barrel roll of sorts) after the Cobra Roll & the final break run and track leading into the station. Phase 5: Final construction phase which would see the vertical lift & first lift hill being put up into place along with the remaining track for the second inverted drop. The reason it could be done like this is IF X-Sector is open at the start of the season there is enough room for the crane to put up track in the centre section and then final phase can be done with the crane coming from the access road to the left of the construction site. Another reason why the lift hills may be last is that we haven't seen any lift hill track on park as of yet whereas there is a lot of other track for the inversions and whatnot.
  3. As we know the game will have a 'Spin To Win' game in it. It will allow people to win prizes via a mini game in the actual Smiler game app which is to be released on Wednesday. Here are the Terms & Conditions that are posted on the website: Source: http://www.altontowers.com/competition-terms/
  4. Going back to the recent theory of a inverting drop and with Towers2Go's latest images I thought I would have a quick play with No Limits... This is the image that was taken by Towers2Go Heres another angle: Look on the left of the above photo - it clearly shows an inverting support so I went onto No Limits to recreate it and show an inverted drop. As you can see I've marked the support that looks like the one in Towers2Go latest image: Food for thought...and here is two more images just showing off the inverted drop:
  5. I never said Rita was a Secret Weapon. I said that it wasn't and you can tell as it has nothing special about it. Looking likely that at least one of the drops off the lift hill will be inverted...
  6. When Alton Towers builds a ride people expect something to be different - its just the way it is. When we have been treated with: Nemesis: Special in itself although, no technical worlds first. Oblivion: Worlds first vertical drop rollercoaster. Air: Worlds first true flying coaster (from the station & whole ride). Th13teen: Worlds first track freefall rollercoaster. SW7: Unknown You can see why people expect some sort of gimmick or different element to ride built at Alton Towers. If SW didn't stand for anything and they were just called 'new ride' each time then people wouldn't be as expecting. In a way, they still would seeing as what we have - but Rita for example breaks the chain and has proven the words 'Secret Weapon' stands for something as that wasn't one and nothing is really that special about it. With the park having its height problems and other planning problems then you can also see why they have adapted rides the way they have (Nemesis in a pit, Th13teen's element - to make it stand out different as without it, it would just be an ordinary family coaster). With the words SW people expect good things. Yes people sometimes go beyond what is really going to happen but that is what makes for (sometimes) good reading to see peoples ideas. If we already new everything there was to know about the coaster (plans were 100% correct and showed everything) then there wouldn't even be any speculating. The thing is, we don't know everything - the plans can differ in terms of track and all the track in the station and below the maintenance shed wasn't show on the plans. Some people go way over the top whereas some people have sensible ideas. We won't know for sure until May (or April if soft openings happen). Can anyone name another Theme Park that keeps, and in the past kept, their new ride a secret until opening? I know I can't. Personally this is a pretty solid ride and I wouldn't really care if there was a secret element to it. All I really hope for is lap bars and not OTSR.
  7. As we have seen from the recently released photo by Alton Towers that the support on the left is in an inverted position (As I've illustrated below): Now there has been speculation for some time about an inverting drop which with the above support looks like it may happen. I then went back to The Smiler game app photos and this image looks very much like an inverting drop to me: (Original image) (My attempt at blowing it up a little) As you can see, the train is coming out of a banking drop. Now the banking is correct with that support as you would roll right (clockwise) down the drop (you can also see the 'conversion zone' (bottom of second lift hill - black and yellow rectangles) to the bottom right of the image which can be seen in this photo: So it is in the right place. Now before anyone says I can't see *insert element* on the game images that is because you unlock more as you go along. This has been sat in front of us for weeks and only now does it become clear. An inverting drop? Looking likely!
  8. I've been 6 times to Salou before (never early June) and go for Port Aventura and a break mainly. Out of the 7 days I would say we would spend about 2 or 3 days there as thats normally suffice for us. Whats the water park like for crowds in around the 9th June as never been to the Port Aventura one, normally we go the La Pineda Aquopolis one. Cheers for your help, mate.
  9. Anyone that lives in Spain, know when the school holidays are this year? Looking to go around the 9th June and was wondering how the queues would be and if Spanish schools are off then.
  10. Did Shambhala have some sort of rollback just after the & element? That what I have heard, anyone got any information on what happened? Cheers.
  11. No it doesn't have seatbelts, it just has the usual clamshell restraint. I went back in May and I was with someone that weights around 16-17 stone and he got on once and not the second time. In the end we put the reason why he didn't get on the second time down to him having his hat in one pocket and glasses in the other - even the first time around he had to have a ride host push down on the clamshell to get it to close. He has got quiet big legs though but was fine. You're friend might find it a tight fit but hopefully should get on.
  12. 100% Confirmed for a 12th May opening at 3:00PM. Words from their website:
  13. Courtesy of PAC Community. The time has come...
  14. Is it me or does it look like Led Zeppelin's lift has the least number of supports of any B&M? It looks way under supported Surely that has got to be the B&M that has the least supports on the lift...it has 3 (4 if you want to count the one just on the turn of the ascent), plus it has two brackets supporting the chain return track! Not bad considering its 150 feet! What's its elevation? Anyway, this is looking one good park, hopefully I will be able to visit it sometime
  15. Furius Baco is coming on nicely, I just hope they get it open before I go which is the 3rd July - 10th July, which they should do if there is no major setbacks. Anyway her is a picture of a train on the last turn of the layout over the lake. Picture Of Furius Baco On Last Turn There is also a little video on Youtube showing off the train going through the Inline Twist and around the final turn. Enjoy Regards, Rollercoasters4Life
  16. In your music videos, I think that you should add in a little caption, saying what music you used in the video (just suggesting) I really want to know what music you used in the 'Orlando Theme Parks' and the 'Island Of Adventure' Videos please Regards, Rollercoasters4Life
