  1. My name is Marc. I view theme park review a lot but have not commented before. Its a great site and i love roller coasters. I used to work Sea World Parks and Entertainment and also when it was BEC (miss the free beer, lol). I think it was a good thing that Big Bad Wolf was dismantled and it was announced that they are getting a similar coaster to Cheetah Hunt (should be called Cheetaka) in Tampa. Of course it is sad when any decent or good coaster is torn down but if I was asked," would I rather ride an old Arrow coaster or a modern Inta-ride coaster, of course my answer would be Inta-ride or Intamin." Just saying....
  2. If you have a gift card for your locker deposit, I would try to return it to Guest services on your next visit. I am sure they will give you cash back. Marc
  3. Aquatica is themed after Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea. All three make up the theming. Marc
  4. I went to Aquatica this past Saturday with two of my friends and during the start of Springbreak. Most of the slides were fast, fun, and thrilling. Roas Rapids was great and relaxing. I recommend a life jacket because more speed and can flip around better on Roas. The best part of the park for me was Walk About Waters. There was so much water and many ways to get everyone wet. There were 9 slides attached to this crazy water fort. All ages were allowed to play here and it was insane. There is a smaller and less aggressive play area called Kata's Cove for smaller tikes. Wahala Wave was very long. Half of the run was in darkness. We had about 550 lbs in the tube and went up the sides of the slides many times at a 90 degree angle. The amazing thing i thought was that the park was really busy but most of all of the lines were less than ten minutes long. The staff worked really hard to keep things moving. I read in someones blog that it is like Wet and Wild. Far from it. Aquatica is the best water park in Orlando. Disney's water parks have the best theming but anyone can look at a picture for theming. Most of Disneys slides are boring or slow to mild. Their family raft ride rolls down and does not even float. Your whole experience with Typhoon and Blizzard is that something is left out and I had and okay time. WE all had a great time at Aquatica.
  5. I am on the water safety team at Aquatica and wanted to make an update to two atractions. Hoo Roo Run and Wahala Wave Both of these two attractions are a family raft ride that seats 2,3, or 4 guests at a time. The total weight in each tube is 600 lbs max. That is why some times there are only 2 to 3 people allowed in a tube. Safety first and flying to the exit stairs can be a hazard. LOL But fun Marc
  6. I work at Aquatica on the water safety team and wanted to give some new updates and responses to the review that was given. First, Aquatica appeals to both families and thrill seekers. Many of the slides have complete dark elements and tight turns producing nice lateral G's. Having an annual pass to both Disney water parks, I feel that Aquatica is a better park than both Blizzard beach and Typhoon Lagoon. While Typhoon Lagoon is still the best themed park, Aquatica is more exciting, thrilling, and exotic. While most parks have water forts that only allow kids of a certain height, Walkabout Waters allows kids of all ages and sizes. Second, an update on Whanau Way. This four tube slide is now both single and double tube. It originally was designed for both, but during the preview weekend double tubes were not allowed due to the design of the original tubes as they were to light. New heavier tubes now allow for two riders. Finally, When a locker key is returned a gift card is issued for the $3.00 deposit. If that card is presented to Guest Services, cash is given back to the guest. Dolphin Plunge is a slide that must be mastered. I feel it was designed to be experienced both as a thrill slide (complete darkness, tight turns, and speed) and also a gentle scenic slide of the Commerson Dolphins. If a guest plunges in fast, they will fly through the elements and miss out on seeing the Dolphins. However, if the guest raises up on the upper part of the body, or positions their hands next to their side pushing down on the slide( be careful as the hands heat up), it is possible to decrease ones speed and glide through the clear part. Be prepared as the slide starts with complete darkness, then clear, and back to complete darkness before reaching the splash pool. Just wanted to give some feed back and new updates on Aquatica.
