  1. As discussed numerous times in this forum, I don't think the invert would be a front entrance coaster, we already have steel venom and part of wild thing close to the entrance so I doubt that will happen. But you never know, with the recent news a new spot for a coaster could be anywhere. As for Excalibur, It has said that on their website since spring, the back of the park always closes early due to Haunt....It says the same thing for Thunder Canyon. No need to be condescending, man. None of us know what the new coaster will be, where it will be located, or when it will be built. Your opinion of what you think or hope to happen is just as invalid as mine. I guess the main point of my post was more about Excalibur and it's possible demise. I'm aware that Valleyfair closes that section for haunt, and, actually, that was part of the reason I highlighted "for the season." To me that sounds like it's safe for another year or at least until the end of it's season. Valleyfair really doesn't NEED to put a notice like that up on their website, but the fact that they do says to me they wouldn't announce an earlier closing date for Excalibur this season.
  2. What I'm hoping is that, like Carowinds, we would get a front entrance roller coaster in 2016 and water park expansion with the removal of an older coaster for 2017. If the Soak City expansion is major enough, which it seems like it is, I feel like they would either remove Excalibur in July, like Thunder Road, or close it after memorial day weekend to prep the land and wait for 2017. It's also nice to hear that Valleyfair was once again mentioned as a growing market in Cedar Fair's Q1 report. I'm excited to see what happens. EDIT: I just noticed that the Valleyfair website says Excalibur will close on September 14th for the season.
  3. With Cedar Point possibly getting a Dive Machine next year, I wonder if VF could see one of the smaller versions. As per recent Cedar Fair fashion, the new coaster will probably be in the front of the park, accompanied by a entrance re-do. I drew a little rendering of what I think the new roller coaster could look like, while removing The Wave to make way for the coaster. Just purely fun, of course. 1. A 100-140 ft lift hill with a 95-135 foot drop. 2. A 75-90 foot loop 3. A zero-g roll over the front entrance. 4. An Immelman 5. An over-banked turn 6. A corkscrew This would all lead to a splash down in the trench left over from removing The Wave. In order to do this, the trench would have to be remodeled and expanded, but with the piping already there, it would be easier to construct. It would compensate for losing another water ride as well. Also, I kept in mind Dinosaurs alive, so I made sure the low parts of the roller coaster stayed away from pathways, and also realized new paths and moving the animatronics wouldn't be completely out of the question. What do you think? It has similarities to Wild Eagle layout wise, but I think it would be a really cool ride for the park.
  4. I'm going on March 11th! I'm gonna get Universal Express Unlimited though. Thanks so much!
  5. I haven't been to Universal since 2010, but have been on everything except Transformers, Escape from Gringott's, Hogwart's Express, and Minion Mayham. I have been to Disney before, but my friend has not. That's more what I am concerned about.
  6. Hi! I am taking a trip out to Florida and plan on spending 1 day at Universal and 4 days at Disney. I am getting a 1 Day Park-to-Park ticket with Universal Express Unlimited, but have started to wonder if that is enough time to get in all of the rides I wish to ride. I have been to Universal before. The person I'm going with is also a pass holder and is purchasing Universal Express as well. Do you think I need to sacrifice a day a Disney (Which I really don't want to do) and spend an extra day at Universal without express, or do you think I'll be okay.
  7. So just to clarify, I should expect heavy crowds on Thursday (June 25th). If so, should I wait and see if a Fast Lane is necessary or should I purchase them online in advance? Thanks so much! I've never been to the park and am really excited!
