coasterfan12 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I live near this park and was wondering what you think about the future of it. Do you think were gonna get more rides? Or is Sixflags just gonna sell it. I dont know do u guys have any insight? Thanx
dougr Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 You know, I live about three hours away from the place, yet I've never been there. I think the Memorial Day weekend opening is pretty weeny, Oaks in Portland opens in March and Playland in Vancouver opens mid-April. I heard EV got a bunch of new rides a few years back and they did build Timberhawk, but I also wonder what they are going to do in the future. After seeing what happened in Houston when land values went so high Six Flags sold off Astroworld-the real estate market around here is pretty hot too...
coasterfan12 Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Yeah We got 10 new rides and t-hawk but it could have been way better. The rides we got arent exciting at all. We got -A chute the chute -Crazy mouse -kamakazi kinda thing -The gambler (flat ride like in sand -octopus -new train -red barren kiddy ride -dogems -crazy bus -hang glider  then we got a 4 person tube slide ant t-hawk so yeah we got more rides but there pretty cheesy for my taste.  -cq
dougr Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 You know what this park or Playland needs? A rocket coaster! Imagine an Xcellerator clone shooting over I-5.
coasterfan12 Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 Yeah that would be awesome lol but the only prob with that is our REALLY strict building guidelines around here. Timberhawk was supposed to be about 15ft taller than it is now. A rocket coaster over the lake would look really cool but it will probably never happen
Coyote Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I live really close as well and from what I see from I-5 as I drive by on occasion, it never looked impressive at all, so I have never bothered to go. Now, Is the TimberHawk something very new, and is it a killer coaster? I like big fast woodies myself...
dougr Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Well, we went to EV yesterday. I bitched about the comparative prices of the season passes and the guy at the gate said something about the park not being there much longer. We got our passes-(the pictures are truly hideous) and walked in. For a small park, the rides are really far apart on a hill. There's like three active corners- the waterpark by where you enter, some flats and Timberhawk (not too scary, but fast) up a hill to the right (east) around a lake, and a newer corner up to the left (northwest corner) with TimberAxe, Goldrusher (Giant Mouse) and the log/splashboat ride (short, but completely soaks you!) Wild Thing was the ONLY ride CLOSED! I think the highlight was TimberAxe, a Zamperla Hawk. The waterpark was kinda nice to cool off at the end as well. Timberaxe. That's me with the shiny dome with my daughter beside me.
