Homer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Roller_Coasters If you haven't heard of this site yet, then this is also a good site for helping with school projects and the like. Anyways, noting the general public would likely visit Wikipedia and haven't heard of sites like rcdb, a project has been started on improving articles on roller coasters at the site. Sure, there are quite a few pages up on roller coasters, but they are either sloppy or no more than a few sentences. The project is basically improving upon the pages and adding articles for notable roller coasters and theme parks (open or defunct). Also, many pages need a park logo or even your own pictures! If you could give up a little bit of your time, this could become a big resource for roller coasters as well as the oodles of other things Wikipedia has information on. hyyyper
sounds nice, i hope rcdb.com doesn't get into the shadow of coasterpedia
DenDen
^, nah, RCDB is an awesome resource that almost everyone loves, and could never be replaced. WIKIPedia is a community encyclopedia, thats been around awhile, that is finally coming of age. If anything, WIKIPedia will be a great asset to enthusiasts in addition to RCDB, since WIKIPedia will list information not listed or irrelevant to RCDB. I think there's pleanty of room for both. WillMontu
I've already done work on some articles, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boomerang_%28roller_coaster%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expedition_Everest http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loop_%28roller_coaster%29 (this one's for you Derek) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vekoma_SLC (I write articles on only the best!) Just a word of warning, be sure to check some of the introduction pages, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Welcome%2C_newcomers and while anyone can edit (or vandalize) any article, other people can revert that edit with a few clicks of a mouse Also, keep in mind the "neutral point of view". This is an encyclopedia, so writing "Vekoma Sucks" won't get you anywhere. Also try and avoid "link spamming". Don't post a link unless it has something unique that can not be found elsewhere. Max Payne
I don't think my english is good enough for that... and I really don't feel like translating all the rollercoaster articles to Dutch... but good luck to you all making Wikipedia a better place for coaster facts! WillMontu
Unfortunately someone has been linkspamming TPR pages on the Wikipedia. Please don't do it. It's embarrassing to us, embarrassing to Robb and Elissa as well, and is quite sad and pathetic if you ask me. We can do better than this! If you want to make Wikipedia better, take some pictures, expand and fix articles, and start articles on rides that are not already up there.
